  • I am new to this, SORRY, I've been listening to this since the 70's believe me it's been a long hard time any good blues bars left in Detroit let a po boy know. Thanks

  • King of the slide. His influence is still felt today.

  • well without people like Elmore James , Muddy Waters Dinah Washinton , Robert Johnson and many more. The muzic of today would be so diffrent. The formention form many kinds of todays muzic. well from the late 50's , 60's and 70's From rock & Roll to Southern Rock Bands. They influenced the likes of Chuck Berry , Otis Redding ,The Allman Brothers to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Sadly i dont see many to carry on after these bands are gone on to the next world. Support your local muzic scene. Weneednewmusicians

  • Too many blues players will not play this. I don't know why. Maybe it is out of respect to Robert Johnson, but I think they are afraid they will not do it justice. Thanks for sharing.

  • @terbare50

    didn't stop clapton....

  • Great, great blues. Thanks for sharing psychic zebra. They just don't make em like this no more. Peace

  • waawooo the best bleuz ever created in history

  • AWESOME BLUES JAM OLD SKOOL!!!! THNX MUCH!!!!!

  • The sax is like the heartbeat of this song.

  • This here is some tasty stuff.

  • This is true blues!

  • Epiphany! I am a white Brit bought up on Clapton et al and often wondered what George Harrison meant when he mentioned Elmore in a famous Beatles song; now I know. THIS IS THE BEST. All western musos been copying this stuff - and others - forever more and selling it albeit watered down, to us. Now I know the real thing I love it .. gotta have more, gotta have more, more more more!!!

  • great old blues only recently got into his music but blues as it should be

  • I was a teenager when Elmore was in his prime and you could hardly find his music on the radio. Luckily there was one black station that played stuff like the Chicago Blues with Elmore, the Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Slim Harpo, Muddy, Lightning Slim and a host of others. I dug the Wolf but I loved Elmore. I still have my 45 of Dust My Broom. It is a treasure. Only some white folk now like this kind of music but in my day the black community ate this stuff up.

  • Elmore is as essential to the music world just as Beethoven's 9th symphony is.Part of the evolution.Great.TY...

  • Elmore James is one of the major bluesmen of all time, and a joy to listen to, with style and fabulous voice, phrasing, and feel.

  • Such a fine, fine voice! Can decent re-mastered CDs of this man's work be found?

  • Visit the Mississippi Delta region sometime. You will never forget, so much talent, so much soul, mojo, spirit, energy in the air you can almost see it.

  • TERRIFIC STUFF HERE

  • Ok, here's a comment:

    Elmore James

    BEST.

    BLUES.

    VOICE.

    EVER.

  • This man's music is the best. No doubt.

  • i sold my soul to the devil to play blues like elmore... but the bugger ripped me off

  • can someone tell me what recording this is quick,

  • est bonne en criss ste toune la !! ....

  • Love the horn section in the background, sounds great Elmore is great!! Nice tune.

  • Dude, theres a lot of people who actually look deep in the the treasure of blues. Elmore James is top class blues music-- no question about that.

  • Elmore James - in a class by himself entirely - no other blues singer comes even close to that man

  • UNBELIEVABLE! only ONE comment here ! This is about the very best blues songs of all time and only one bugger ( ME) is commenting ! This is an HONOUR for ME! Apparently the world is more interested in DAVID CARRADINE masturbating himself to death or if BRITNEY farted! BUT I DONT CARE! I care about ELMORES MUSIC and WHOEVER put this video in here, may GOD BLESS HIM FOR A LOOOOONG LOOOONG TIME!!!!

  • Blues as a genre isn't very popular at the moment and Elmore James isn't as well-known bluesman as say B.B. King may be. I'm just glad that people, like you, can enjoy this music and I hope that Youtube doesn't take it down for infringement or something like that.

  • BB admits that he got the vibrato that he uses from Elmore! Elmore is my favorite blues player/singer of all time. Not to take anything from Robert Johnson, though.

  • @psychiczebra I don't think Youtube would do that. Most of my videos don't over 1000 views ( :'( ) But they don't remove them.

  • @buchananstreet GOD BLESS ELMO JAMES, AND HIS MATES FROMA GOLDEN ERA OF THE BLUES. NO CLAPTON, WINTER WILL EVER COME CLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
