all this to say, that although i do not know either tricky or pj personally,i am willing to bet that mr tricky has total respect for the genius of ms harvey. both artist do lots of collaborations with other musicians(anyone who doesn't know the pj harvey produced marianne faithfull album "before the poison" should go buy it now. post-9-11 poetry put to music. also has a brilliant song mf co-wrote with damon albarn called last song and some forgettable nick cave stuff

uuhmm, this isn't just some chick singer who was free the day tricky recorded this song. my guess is that he wrote this song with her in mind. tricky gives the impression that he'll record with just about anybody if he does't have to sing(have you ever heard the miserable collaboration he did with cindi lauper? tricky is a genius(he actually covers a very obscure siouxsie and the banshees song with massive attack(a track written by sioux called "tattoo, which was the b-side of "dear prudence.

I think teenagers and the younger generation need to discover this music. THIS is music, straight from the underground. @Zajcik No, not the other way around. I love Polly's work, but this just isn't 'her', but it's very Tricky, but suited to her voice, so she came in an helped out a mate.

If you compare them both as live acts Tricky wins hands down. I've seen them both several times, with Polly you get the album but live, it sounds exactly the same; with Tricky you get something completely different every time - often it bears no resemblance to the album track but is awesome just the same.

you should thank his guitarist for that song and his 1980's roland 77 synth guitar originally composing a guitar synth instrumental that was to become broken home... you can also thank him for "make me wanna die".... PJ had nothing to do with this song...
