  • The Human Resources people will probably interview you at some point. Even if they don't you can bet that they're talking to the other interviewers behind the scenes. Understanding what they're looking for gives you competitive edge.

  • Seriously since when did we have a choice? Even with a good education, I have absolutely no choice when it comes to a career. In this economic apocalypse we all are lucky to get a job at all, let alone one we want to do.

  • I'm 21, going to a community college going for my AGS(Associate in General Studies) because I haven't even figured out what career I want. But this does gives me an idea on how to choose. The hardest part is believing in my self & just really going out their searching for job/career that will match what I want or just closely comfortable with.

  • Some great advice for people looking for jobs.

  • @TheHcomment AHAHAH;) Too funny!!!!!

  • The people that know me don't understand why I haven't pursued a "career in computers." I am a computer nerd, but am I crazy for thinking that a career and a hobby have different meanings? I hate the idea of working in the private sector and being motivated by the idea of helping a company make more money. I understand the importance of it (jobs, growing the economy, etc) but I think deep down inside I'm turned off by capitalism and the greed and competition associated with it.

  • @rayalvarado2010 There is alot of truth in what you just said..I was told by an instructor that a hobby turned into a caeer can be a mistake when you suddenly realize the pressures of getting things done on time. And turns your hobby into a living nightmare. And to carefully approach the idea of turning a loved hobby into work. Also if you dont want to work for others, create your own computer business and be your own boss. love computers make money off it by doing it your way!!!!

  • I wanna be a make up artist BUT I'm scared my parents and cousins will laugh

  • @cutedogrl Don't be scared about that. You know what you want for your future. I don't, and it's frustrating...

  • "With some effort, perseverance and guidance..."

    oh shit.

  • Thanks for advice

  • I wanna be a balla!

  • I once applied for a job as a grenade tester, and I got the job. Great pay, but I turned it down because it didn’t come with a retirement plan. =)

  • It was all good until the "You will need" Part........

I have non of these things.

  • Omg thanks to Howcast I've realized something... I want to be an unemployed homeless man GEE WIZZ HOWCAST I LOVE YOU!

  • Remember, Accountants rule the world too. See this video: watch?v=1uYL2nYz0X4

  • i love this video dude

  • Be an Accoutnant and ur RICH

  • @88a - Accountants can make a good salary, but it doesn't necessarily guarantee having a wealthy income :) They say to go with one's passion in life and to try to make a living around that. "Do what you love and the money will follow" is another motto. Farrah Gray, young male multimillionaire and author of 'Reallionaire' suggests asking oneself this question about a career path, "What would I do for years and years and not have to get paid? ;)

  • @Jannsmith - Sorry but I probably should've worded that "...it doesn't necessarily guarantee becoming wealthy" ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @Jannsmith Thanks for the detail !!! I believe becoming an "Accountant" is a strong career path which facilitates you to become rich. I personally disgree with ur view that Do what u love and money will follow. For example u may love to become a trainer of marshal arts but in that case money wont follow as its fixed income of that status. Being an Accountant is playing with money and then managing it usefully in top companies of world and here u utilize what u learn in hard study

  • @88a - The motto about going "with one's passion in life thus the money will follow" is a general rule so that people don't pursue a certain field or course of study solely for the financial gain :) Some people will major in business and finance and end up miserable in their jobs but then go back to school for teaching and find much more contentment as an example. It's just food for thought ;)

  • @88a Personaly if you really loved martial arts you wouldnt go straight into teaching. You would compete first whihc has far more money should you become successful. Then if you wished you could teach after and the money you can charge can increase because of you successfulness. So that moto do what you love is true. You jst have to have a level of wisdom about u whihc can be nurtured.

  • very good video...

    j

  • "effort and perseverance" roflz. I dont have that.

  • what's the step to take to be a wapon designer?

  • There's so much competition in the world nowadays. its difficult to think of any original ideas that no one has done before.

  • @Ninjageek1 thanks for your advice, I've been considering teaching, it's a career that interests me very much.

  • Can someone pleeease help me! I am predicted an A*/A in French and I am confident I'll get this... What careers can one do with French?! It's my fave subject and i'm good at it... Bearing in mind i only have a C in Maths. But A*s, As and Bs in everything else?

  • @rachelydwi Hey dude. You may have the skills right to be a teacher! A FLEX or French teacher. As long as your good with that type of stuff. Just follow ur dreams and goals

  • You can become a teacher or a translator...

  • well, you could be a french teacher, but if that doesn't suit you maybe try getting a job that has something to do for what ever subject you feel you're also good at. :)

  • Choosing the right job to pursue is key.

  • BUUUUT

Van Ghog has being poor for all his life.... Bad example.

  • it's not all about money

  • Great video!

  • I have taken 4 of those tests and every time its something totaly different.

  • I keep taking those quizzes and evaluation things. They keep saying I'd be a great artist, novelist, photographer, graphic designer, etc. Everyone else is saying get a day job...

  • I think she looks better as on of the gangster girls.

  • Vincent van Gogh is a bad example... he sold 3 paintings in his whole life.. 2 to his brother..

  • yea, he's in same class as was it mozart? a lot of now-legendary painters and musicians were not even given the time of day when alive and it was only after their death that their works were discovered and evaluated.

  • mozart was a wonderchild, he played several instruments very well, at a very young age.. he was very famous for his time.. he made a lot of money, and like to live large.. so, NO not in the same class as van gogh.

if i must analyze i think there are a lot more painters "discovered" after their death, than musicians.. in those days there wasnt such a thing as CDs or even any recording medium what so ever.

  • and wasn't famous until after he died.

  • good one :)

  • i knew van gough was a preist o_o

  • I like working with my hands, managing money, helping people and selling things... I should become a prostitute! thanks howcast! :)

  • @Cheriosalways HAhaahhaah oh you!

  • Shuriken

  • hadouken

  • Shoryuken

  • KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can't come back from that, i just killed you

  • I think so. I'm just trying to figure out how being a ninja relates to "Devoloping innovative strategies for sydicating leveraged buyout debt prior to the fiscal year 2007". (0:24) :P

  • what is that in english

  • A leveraged buyout is when you go into debt to buy a controlling share in a company with the idea that that company's profits will get you out of debt. Syndicating would probably be to sell shares. A fiscal year is a yearly period at the end of which a company reviews its financial situation.

So it would pretty much be "Coming up with new ways to sell shares in a new company to get rid of the debt from buying that company before we find out our profits for 2007."I think. I'm no expert. :P

  • I tried to be a professional criminal, but that didn't work.
