  • This one beautiful fan. Where did u get it? This fan looks like it belongs in an expensive five star restaraunt

  • My parents got it at Tuesday Morning, back when they carried them for a short while a few years ago.

  • They're good fans, but very expensive. Run $300+ brand new.

  • What have you done with this one? And when you get a NIB fan do you cut the wires or do you keep them so that you could put them on a long downrod one day

  • It's back in the box, like most of my other NIB fans after I film them and enjoy them for a couple days. Depends, I guess I usually cut them because right now I will never have a use for such long wires (I do keep the spare wire in the box though). If I need it long again in the future I can always add it back on with wire crimp connectors or shrink tube.

  • That is just plain BEAUTIFUL!

  • LOL! And you say you like your fans basic! It's okay, I like it too. The pull chains don't seem to fit the fan style, though.

  • I like basic, and I like everything else too. XD I take anything I can get, and this baby was 50% off. IDK about the pulls, nothing else looked good on it and I LOVE gold tassels.

  • Oh, it's gold? That sounds cool.

  • That fan would go well in an old style resturaunt.

  • I agree.

  • i love it

  • wow that is so cool mpsslovak thanks for the video i love it are you lookin at my videos

  • I haven't looked at yours for a while, been a bit busy. I have to though.

  • hey, one more question.........it´s about your RACO ceiling fan box.........what size of screws did you use in it?.......5,0mm X 50mm?..........in brazil, the fans need this size of screws.........

  • I'm not familiar with metric screws, I'm not even really sure what the screw size is anyway.

  • I have noticed that this fan shakes a little.

  • Yeah, there was a blade warped right out of the box. I ordered new blades from Hunter, and they were free. Those will stay wrapped for a very long time. A bit of wobble gives this fan some character anyway. =)

  • Where did you get this fan?

  • Tuesday Morning. They had two there, but I could only afford one. I feel lucky I got the one with the warped blade because now I have a spare set. =)

  • Is that a stores name? I have never heard of such a name for a store. Where are the locations? Or it is a local state store. It probably is not in Massachusetts, which is the state I live in.

  • Extremely beautiful fan!

  • i like it

  • The airflow is FANTASTIC for a newer fan. It's got good pitch on the blades and is very quiet in operation!

  • Have you ever felt the airflow of the newer Hunter Classic Originals before, they have a lot of airflow. I have a question, which fan do you think has more airflow, this fan, or the Hunter Classic Original?

  • I haven't had time to stand underneath one and really feel, but from walking underneath one I'd say they're about the same, unless the Original has five blades installed, then the Art Nouveau would move more air.

  • For my personal opinion, I think the Hunter Classic Original whether it has five or four blades, it still moves more air than the Art Noveau because the Classic Original has a higher blade pitch as well as a bigger and stronger motor. I even bet the pre 2002 HUnter Originals are way stronger than this fan would ever be in CFMs.

  • The last time I stood under a Hunter Classic Original ceiling fan was on October of last year at an UNO restuarant in Braintree, MA and they all had five blades and the airflow they had was very powerful for a low setting.

  • I also watched another video of a 1994 5 bladed Hunter Original in White and Bright Brass and the airflow that came up against the camera was a lot more than this fan on the same settings.

  • Well, my camera doesn't pick up airflow well, but whatever. The Art Nouveau is really for aesthetic purposes anyway, as opposed to the Original manufactured for performance. I was surprised at the airflow from the Art Nouveau because I expected a fan that looked pretty with low airflow. Not the case! =)

  • The Hunter Original was probably manufactured for looks and performance. And about the Art Noveau, it comes to show that not all aesthetic ceiling fans have low air flow. However, there is one new Hunter Original fan that completely replicates the 1920s-1930s Hunter fans with Adapt-Air, the Hotel Original. I found that to be amazing that the Hotel Original looks the same as those made in the 20s to 30s. But it moight not be as good as those made in the past though. Its just too bad.

  • I was so glad they reproduced Adaptaire (now spelled Adapt-Air)! They will never be the same as the early 20's and 30's Originals, but at least they brought back the old system. Now they need to make Reversaire again!

  • Lets hope when the economy is good again that Hunter will start making Hunter Originals in America again.

  • Oh how I do agree! I just feel it's such a shame an American classic like the Original is made in China. :P

  • @doughnutser256 or at least make the motors the same way they made them in America

  • @MTLTV1765 That would work too!

  • Agreed on this, but I'd rather have an American Made product. Besides, they might sell better if they had a big fat "Made in the US" sticker on them with a lot of American people trying to go with products made in America.

  • Does the box show how much CFMs this fan has on high, medium, and low?

  • It sure does. High: 6,486 Med: 3,619 Low: 1,663.

  • On a fan specialty store on the internet and in a building in Texas, it shows that the Hunter Originals, even the ones of today have more airflow on high than the Art Nouveau fan does. Hunter's website says that the current Hunter Classic Originals on the high setting have over 6,900 CFMs on high.

  • I just looked on Hunter's website and it says 6,900 CFMs on high. If this is true, this beginning to get really pathetic. It looks as if they are charging more for weaker performing ceiling fans these days. I think this is a scam. I currently have a Hampton Bay Windward II ceiling fan in my bedroom and the CFMs that it has on high is 6,779 and I bought it in 2005.

  • I agree, some fans of today are pathetic, whether it includes the 1896 or not. Today people buy fans for looks, instead of function. This is the part that bugs me. I wish we could just go live in the era of 70's and 80's fans, they were good looking, classic, and functioned very well.

  • Personally, I think ceiling fans should look good like they do right now and perform extremely good at the same time.

  • I think that too. Try putting a stack motor in the Art Nouveau and going back to the shaded pole Hunter Original motor!

  • That would void the Warranty on this fan even though I prefer the Stack motors over the WhisperWind motor at any time.

  • Lol, no. I mean they should manufacture it with a stack motor!

  • Oh, okay!

  • There was an UNO restaurant, now a woodfire grill near me, they kept the Originals, and they are installed with four blades. I don't think they move any more air than my Art Nouveau, they're both newer fans none the less. I have vintage fans that are far more powerful than the newer Originals. You should try a vintage Casablanca or Fasco!

  • Even the Casblanca fans of today are really good. The Casablanca Capistrano and Lanai ceiling fans actually pull out a lot of air for current day ceiling fans, not to mention they are extremely quiet.

  • I agree, Casablanca and Emerson are the main companies that still use the stack motor in a large section of their fans. There are a few other models here and there, but the fans just aren't the same as they were in the 80's

  • I really have not had the time to go to antique stores, or remember a vintage Casablanca fan's performance because in the 90s, I was just a kid, but I do remember the Hunter Originals of the 1990s, they were very powerful fans and they were much higher quality than the Originals of today.

  • Maybe because the Originals are further away from you than the Art Nouvau fan was in your bedroom, it seems as if the Classic Original has the same amount of airflow as your Art Nouvau. If the Classic oirginal was same amopunt of distance from you as the Art Nouvau ceiling fan was, the Original would probably put out more airflow.

  • Even today's Originals have 15-degree blade pitch.

  • Yes I actually already knew that, but thanks for posting it up for people who do not know that!

  • 70's and 80's Originals were WAY more powerful than today's Originals. Today's Originals are crap, compared to even the good import brands of the 70's and 80's, such as Ritz and Moss, and the American brands like Fasco and Casablanca.

  • Don't forget vintage Emerson ceiling fans, especially the Sears Robuck ceiling fans, they look like their powerful too.

  • Does anybody remember the 60 inch Hunter Oceanus ceiling fan?

  • Not to mention they are not made in the U.S.A anymore before they sent manufacturing of the Hunter Originals to China starting in 2002. All Hunter Originals before 2002 were made here in the U.S. even the 1990s ones.

  • Good points, I forgot about the production movement, that's why they're crap now.

Many companies had fans relabeled as Sears fans, including, but not limited to: Lasko, Emerson, Encon, Litex, etc. I only like the Sears fans that are Emerson, Lasko, or have a stack motor in them.

  • Good point about the the type of Sears fans that are good. I would actually agree with your choice of fans that Sears sold as Emerson fans or ones that have a stack motor in the fans, due to their high quality built motor and material parts.

  • I do not like the look of Victorian style ceiling fans including the Hunter 1896 Art Noveau. But I wonder, how is the air flow on this fan? I'm curious.
