  • Very nice and well done. That's my aunt, R.I.P Aunt Zora...Love you.

  • I am taking a Women in Literature class and we read "Sweat". I loved the style of writing and am learning everything I can about Zora. Born and raised in South Carolina she makes me think of my homes history both good and bad. Thank you for posting this video and giving me further understanding on this great woman!

  • they have such a thing as women's literature ? they make sure men don't pick any of those books. This annoys me , now I have to keep it hidden on my e-reader.

  • Never mind, now I know it's from her essay "How It Feels To Be Colored Me".

  • Me Again! Where does that little excerpt come from? When the woman speaks?

  • What is the instrumental song played toward the end of the video? (Played during a lot of the text and before "The Work Song")

  • The song is actually the intro (looped) to Loreen McKennitt's "The Highwayman." Even though the song has Celtic undertones, I thought it sounded like the old South as well. :)

  • What is the name of the song played first?

  • @Yahslick89 Hey there, the song/artist is the one YouTube has listed. "The Southern Blues" by Big Bill Broonzy. I love it!
