There is something known as a Fast Breeder Reactor (FBT), of which India is one of the world leaders. Once the experimental reactor is built and the technology is proved, India can use its own thorium reserves, not imported Uranium, for power generation. Am sure the Us knows of this and will get easy access to this technology once it is perfected. So the N-deal is a win-win situation for both sides.
