  • great great job!! let me know if yall ever need another banjo!

  • Wonderful!

  • Anyone know where I can get a poster of the 2nd South Carolina String Band?

    Steffierig

  • Redneck is such a harsh uncompromising term. I much prefer Fairly Affluent Rural Types. If they were in Africa oe Eastern Europe somewhere they'd surely get U.N funding.

  • Wonderful memories playing with the 2nd South !! Good Friends,Talented Musicians............. The Best Civil War Band in America............." Where good times are not forgotten"!!!! All the best ,

     Marty Groody

  • Can Someone Listen To My EVP Video Theres Some Kind Of Flute Being Played Near The End Of It For About A Minute And I Need To Know What Song It Is. Keep In Mind Its A Ghost Playing It! • Ha ha this is great! We grew up hearing it this way "Old Dan Tucker ,was a good ole man , washed his face in a frying pan, combed his hair with a wagon wheel, died with a toothache in his heel ! love it!

  • Wish The Boys would come to Sydney Australia -

    Steffierig

  • Yeah!! Beutyful!! Makes me happy!

  • Discovered this site it was recommended by a friend who knew my interest in the Civil War - absolutely wonderful, just love it must get to the States to hear them. This group is brilliant. Need some fun in these bleak times.

    Steffierig

  • rednecks and confederacy rule

  • they aint rednecks they are men fighting for their rights and independence

  • thats right

  • @MinstrelBoy54 You tell em James!

  • @MinstrelBoy54 True, and only the UNeducated know 'redneck' as a pejorative, as it simply means one who's spend all day bent over working crops in the field, until the back of his/her neck gets sunburned.

  • @MinstrelBoy54 they is too rednecks and Gumps Galore

  • I have seen these boys twice live now and they are outstanding.

  • i seen them once at the fall nationals with the n-ssa , there just a great band.

  • Dat Marty Groody guy make dat band come alive.......Best player ever.

  • If this isn't PURE american music than I don't know what is! Just awesome

  • thank god the north doesnt make us read still x]

  • Awesome! Thanks so much!

  • You fellas are fantastic!

  • These guys are great! Buy all their albums, and you won't be sorry. Heard them one fall night at Fort Shenandoah, VA, in a genuine, old-timey lantern lit show. Took me back in time...

  • If you like these guys check out the Gum Springs Serenaders...

  • Is that the same old man Tucker that combed his hair with a wagon wheel? LOL

Good suff. Five stars. Would give it 13 stars if I could!

    FDDF(forever dixie,dixie forever)

  • God bless our south-DEO VINDICE

  • Amazing stuff! Deo Vindice forever

  • These guy's are great. I'am a drummer in The C.S.A Club Of Sweden and I'm really impressed:D

  • Uh! Why does Sweden have a C.S.A Club?

  • Why not???

  • Because Sweden is wtfpwnzors

  • alot off sweds got ansestors in the south stats that did take part in the war for stats rights that is way there is a C.S.A group in sweden to

  • What a great band!!!

  • Bravo!!! Great job!!!

  • These guys have it RIGHT! Too many performers of music from the War of Northern Agression play versions that are just way too clean and overly-polished. What the 2nd South Carolina String Band plays is probably as close to what my Great Grandfather and other veterans of the Army of Tennessee and Army of Northern Virginia heard in their camps every night.

  • 2nd Carolina is the greatest band ever! If you ever heard them preform Johnny Booker or The Vacant Chair you'd agree 100%! And Joe Ewers is a damn fine banjo player the best in my opinion,he has caused me to change my clawhammer style after hearing him play. I would give my right arm....no wait i need my right arm to play......I'd give my right leg to meet him and pick a few tunes with him. Great vid thanks a bunch for posting!

  • Very good performance! Makes you feel like it was 1862 all over again lol
