I think you're probably right about there being a certain amount of nerves showing here. I certainly felt a bit strange recording this, as you can possibly tell.
Like most of us i guess, i'd never done anything like this before. The first time is a bit weird isn't it?
I like to think i'm far happier in front of the camera nowadays, as i think all of us are.
My webcam is a Logitech Fusion, which is very good. I've actually bought one for my daughter as well.
My video camera is a Canon MV901. It's a mini DV camera, which i would recommend. I did a bit of research on which video camera to buy & this looked like a good choice & i'm very happy with it. I actually got it half price in a sale :)
This may actually be my first time seeing this one. Nearly 18 months later, I suppose it counts as 'better late than never.'
I've been bouncing around people's archives (which I occasionally do), and it's cool to see this as a contrast to your current day uploads. Such obvious growth since this first entry, but already you were adept at keeping the flow going.
One question, though: were you vlogging from your bathroom here?
There was me thinking you were busy with school work & all the time you're trawling back through my old videos!!
It amazes me that i still get views on this video, even though it's 18 months old.
It was good for me to revisit it myself, i hadn't watched it in a while. As you say, i've come a long way during my YT journey. But then, haven't we all?
I think it does us all good to go back & take a look at how far we've come.
That's one reason why i keep all of my old videos up there for everybody to see. Even if they're not particularly relevant anymore.
We all have to start somewhere & we should be proud of the progress we've all made. After all most of us have never done anything like this before, myself included.
I'll have to start trawling through your archives now!! :)
LOL - well this past weekend was definitely a "YouTube Weekend" but the week is now in progress so I'll be missing tons until Friday or Saturday roll in.
And, yeah, good point about leaving the older videos up for people to see. I confess I've taken down a handful, especially when they were video responses to things that are no longer live, but having many there as a frame of reference is healthy, IMO.
Oh, and sorry for confusing your kitchen for your bathroom. WOOPS!
"Most of us come up with very good excuses not to" how very true, I am certainly guilty of that myself. A well put, articulate video Andy. Can we expect more from you? Cheers.
you hit the nail on the head... youtube may give me the spark, the drive, and the communications mobility that have evaporated with time for me. I love playing with graphpics software on the pc, and recently video editing software. I'm hoping that youtube will make a catagory for "boomertube" or "seniortube" or "over-the-hill bios" or some such. :-)
This is so strange... there's something different about the way your acting... I honestly can't put my finger on it..
I think it's nerves, possibly.
lol, good points about Peter though!
take care Andy,
- Giles.

I went through several webcams before i finally settled on the one i have now. The one in these early videos, was a cheap one, i expect you can tell.
I also ended up buying a new video camera to make videos with. I find myself using that more & more these days, even indoors :)
