the nurse at the beginning said "Pericardiocentesis" It sounds like the outer membrane around his heart is filled with fluid (the pericardium) and trying to use the needle and syringe to drain it before the pressure of the fluid causes cardiac tamponade (which I noticed they actually say "he's in tamponade" when I listened again)aka squeezing the heart so much it can't work and get blood pumped out to his body.
