  • 22 people clicked 'Dislike'... How's that for witty?

  • i'll chime in - i was a trained trumpeter for 10 years until a dental accident forced me to stop. as well, i've been a self-taught guitarist for the last 8 years. i play publicly weekly and make feeble efforts to write music similar to hedges & candyrat guitarists (since before i discovered them years ago).

that said i was much more proficient as a trained trumpeter. as a guitarist, i have learned slower but find the creative process much more enjoyable (i.e. i'm never bored).

  • @Indist1nct Spammers or people such as me an unskilled PC BEing; does no always click at the right time. I AM much more careful now as I click my LIKE place. So do not take this as dislikes; Think of me. :-)) {THIS is a Master + if someone has clicked it; they are spammers from hell.} :-) Do not let them take away from your listening with your heart. Magical Masterful Music right here. Oh my heart is so full of Love + good vibrations. Pino is magnificent. I thank my Angel BEing for this Gem.

  • I love this guitar (music man). Pino play and play and play............

  • This is scary. Beautiful, yet very scary.

  • woooooooowww is amazing the Pino's arpeggios tecnique, you can see when he play some note and make the silence with his finger...that s play awesome

  • Dear Lord.... this is just exquisite...

  • you guys should listen to Will Ackerman especialy "sound of wind driven rain"

  • 2:00 and after... do I hear the EXACT same rhythm as aerial boundaries? That's okay though, cause at 2:50 do I hear me jizzing in my pants? haha

  • The man knows that he is making beautiful music; you can see it in his expressions. It's joy.

  • Pino reminds me of a mad scientist when he plays haha. I make some pretty weird faces when playing too though. All jokes aside, along with his amazing technique and style this guy is all heart! U can tell he is living the music as he plays it! Keep playing that art Mr. Forastiere!

  • candyrat artists have the most feeling and connection to their music than anyone i've ever seen

  • Are you any relation to Chet Atkins, If he was still living he would have loved your style on the guitar, your facial expressions are the same as chets when hitting the tough chords through out this wonderfull song you just belted out, Thanks for giving us the opertunity to hear you play that piece of art.

  • It's great, very beautiful 5*****

  • This is just pure sweetness, this song.

Smooth guitar melody is stress relieving and entertaining at the same time.

Thanks for posting. May God bless.

  • Sono affascinato dal tuo suono, dalle tue idee.Un "cammino" stupendo, profondo, sospeso.

  • I don`t know how much time I have but that would do for the last I heard,LOL.

  • this is ... amazing, wt iv been tryin to find in a guitar player for ages !!

  • nice style..am diggin the sus.cords..whts it like a d mr7th

  • i dont know about anyone else but listening to his playing, is like one of those really sad parts in a movie that almost makes you want to break down and cry sniff.........................................but im a man and i hold in my feelings and have frustrated sex with my girl, hahahahahahaha just playin. but i got to hand it to this guy he does the spanish guitar justice

  • This is not spanish guitar. This is fingerstyle.

  • I think what I love about Pino is his music is so abstract, but it works. He's like an acoustic version of Tool or NiN, he turns sounds into beauty.

  • coming to the states in April 2010

  • realy happy to discover this guitarist

  • heartfull,emotional,sohisticated,absolutely beautiful!

  • I dream of the day that no one has a clue who Britney Spears or Miley Cyrus are and think it's ridiculous that you don't know who Pino Forastiere is. =)

  • couldn't have said it better myself

  • This piece is beautiful not because it is technical but because the player has an intimate touch. It swells and fades effortlessly with no seam and every note carries a sense of lightness and weight.

As a long time player and listener I can't think of few greater praises than to say that when I listen to a song, I can feel every single note and my mood changes dramatically with its ebb and flow. Pino does that here and the scary thing is - he can take it alot further. One to watch for sure.

  • Love your words, what truly amazes me is Pino's show of emotion as he plays his music. I found a vid where Pino plays with two other fantabulous musicians as himself, "Funky Sex Republic" is truly a fun beautiful piece to melt right into. I play it so much that it may disappear from over use. : -) I am sure you may have heard it, if not you got a path to it now. rpoland posts some awsome picks. Peace and Love! ; -)

  • WanderingKid- quite an observant and thoughtful comment. BTW. Pino and Guitar Republic will be touring this spring. Stay tuned

  • @WanderingKid Magnificence a Master that is thrilling my soul. Such voicing going on; why I love the masters face shown for it gives you the whole experience. LOVE your words I ditto them. Such a blessing to have these gems to send to those you want to cheer or show that you care about. These gifts are PRICELESS; they reach to our soul. How fantastical for sure. Such fingering and calmness yet strength shown; gentleness, compassion 'alllll things you would want in a lover.' Awesome.

  • The headstock quite clearly says Martin & Co o.0

  • It looks like a Martin to me. Just from the guitar head. I actually have a 1976 Alvarez acoustic, but I believe that that Alvarez's were crafted after some Martin models. idk

  • Pino plays a '57' Martin D28.

  • what kind of guitar is that?..It looks exactly like the one I have.

  • i think its Ibanez.

i think ive got too exactly same guitar too.

  • ive got actually same guitar than he ^^

  • This is so relaxing!

  • Tuning??

  • hello,

I love this music, I search the tab of this title, but by Pino Forastiere tabs are no longer sold on the site of the label candyrat: /

someone knows where I could buy the tab of this title please. thank you

  • Read the description.

  • links in the sidebar

  • Try and google after John Stropes website. He do offer 4 tabs of Pino, but I can't remember which one except for Fase 1 and november.

  • CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!

  • This guy is like a music genius, all of his pieces flow unbelievably well....He also appears to be the "darkhorse" on the Candyrat label, expirementing with strange and eeire sounds and ultimately producing the most interesting work I have heard out of all of Candyrat's players (though I still thouroughly enjoy the others).

  • what guitar he uses ??????

  • good !!!! very good !!!! XD

  • It does seem very meditative

  • Has anyone found out the tuning? :)

  • It's in drop D.

  • It's D - A - D - E - A - C.

    Not drop D.

  • Ah, you're right, I just checked the site again. Weird tuning.

  • Where did you check it? :P

  • At the more info tap you can go to a site where you can purchase his tabs, the tuning is mentioned there.

  • ¡Bueno!!!

  • amazing!!!

  • So beautiful.

  • holy crap, worth a listen on high deffinition, I love your music pino

  • pimpin mic

  • PINO IS THE MAN

    HE CONSISTANTLY GETS EPIC

all candyrat musicians are good in some way even tho im not feeling dean magraw at all

  • Really!? Man I love Dean Magraw. But you are right about epicness of Pino.

  • shady but perfect............so perfect

  • this is as shady as rachimaninoff

  • Well Pino isn't more skilled than Dufour or vise versa. There totally different.(To greggyt87) But I would have to say I think I enjoy Mckee's style a bit better. It's so hard; they are all phenomenal on Candyrat!!

  • pinos like deeply studied the way sounds works

i feel as though hes the most talented person on candyrat regaurdless of what his music shows

his music is just amazing not made to be technically hard

  • I totally agree!

  • Hi hatedrivesus...

    I agree with your comment.

And I think it takes an artist to realize that music doesn't have to be technically complicated to be qualified as being good.

    Take Care.

  • Actually if you ask me most people that are self taught tend to get way better music, because they are always thinking inside the box, they are always trying to learn more for themselves and tend to come up with things that most technique musicians wouldn't understand.

  • i disagree.

It may be true that more self taught people make good music, but it's not because people who had a teachers are dumbasses that can't think outside the box.

it's because if someone self taught himselfto this level, it means he LOVES what he does, and this love is what makes him produce great music.

people who were taught to play\compose and love it as much as self taught people could produce music of the same\better quality.

music isn't about education. it's about emotion.

  • I think, from observation of myself and other musicians, that you are quite true for one. But I think that "self taught" individuals seem to do more, as figuring out and instrument is not just playing the way everyone else plays, you have to figure out your own way, and by doing so you discover endless possibilities. And to a point, a more creative touch. Secondly, I am self-taught, but my brother and countless others who take lessons don't enjoy instruments near as much as those like me.

  • mmm... I think it depends on ones personality, but i can't really argue on this matter :D

  • @MartaineJr I think teaching yourself takes longer, due to trial & era, but worth it cus u develop your own style. But sooner or later every1 ought 2 study up, cus u need to know the rules b4 u break em.

  • @MartaineJr AAAAHHHH THE TRUTH!! :-D

  • @MartaineJr Becoming a master of music is subjective and you're both dumb. If you knew how these guitarists and composers became great you'd be one of them. Don't advertise your ignorance people, just listen to the music without trying to act like you know jack about it, because you probably don't unless you study in music school or spend lots of your own time studying music as I have. I've met lots of musicians like Pino and the only pattern in their musical backround is that they work hard. :)

  • @266lah lol I don't see how knowing how someone became great at something make me capable of being as great as he is. I have a good friend that is a great mathematician. I know almost everything about him: where he studied, what he found out along the way, who he met and how it influenced him.. anything related. I am good at math, but i don't have the mental capacity, nor did i choose to invest my time and try to become nearly as good as he is.

btw please work on you're attitude when commenting

  • @MartaineJr errr, thats not the way I understand it. I feel like like being over-taught makes you focus too much on technique and tempo and lose some of the creative flavor that you have when you just pick it up and start making sounds. Its great to have technique under your belt but i think when it becomes too over-stressed, the emotional and musical side starts to lose out. I cant never play to a metronome for this exact reason while im composing, i lose my attachment with the emotion

  • i agree i think so too the music of antoine or andy mckee have no deepnes but this ... AMAZING

  • You might need to research and consider all meanings of the word "deepness", then restate what you just said googlekopfkind. You might reconsider. Deepness doesn't have to imply dark (or minor chord-sounding) songs. Andy plays more joyous tunes, but that doesn't make them any more shallow. I think you'll find that the opposite might be true if anything.

  • with deepness i mean ... if you hear a song from britney spears u have no feeling u are not in focus the emotion is to low .. and i mean that this song shows more.... the music of antoine and andy havent it i think so ... sry for my eng

  • honestly i encourage you to work on whatever in your perception thats keeping you from hearing the depth in there music stop comparing music and listen from your soul because andy antione and pino got some of the most emotional depth i have ever hear in music

  • Well it is true that Forastiere is much more captivating to an audience, and much more involved in the delivery of what he is playing. On that subject, he is immensely talented, I do realize now that his particular style is extremely unique, and in it's own very special right is more skillful than that of Dufour.

  • I don't know about comparing someone like Pino to Mckee or Dufour... Pino's music is a different "sub-genre" of fingerstyle I would say. Pino is more about minimalism where as Mckee and Dufour are just simply... not. So I don't really think it is a good/fair comparison.

  • You said it perfectly my friend.

Why do people compare anyway? It is all great to the ear and the artists themselves would not like to be compared I am sure.

  • Antoine Dufour also greatly overshadows Pino.. Greatly.

  • Haha, no. Durour is like a Satriani or something. Most of his compositions can't even begin to compare to this guy.

  • Dufour is fantastic but this is more emotional.

  • No offense but I've been listening to Andy Mckee all morning, also from the label Candy Rat, and I must say this Pino character is pale in comparison to McKees form of art that he expels when he plays any and all acoustic guitars. Pino's on his way, just needs a few more years of practice, but how did get on the same record label is what I really want to know.

  • different styles of music, one mans trash is another man treasure. I greatly enjoy both artists, but this is very much more minimalist, where as dufour is the complete opposite

  • I kind of envy that you get to record and mix fantastic acoustic artists.. Its probably my favorite type of music to attempt to mix. ENVY!!! hahah

  • i love this; the song is very dynamic, and sounds fantastic on my 5.1 surround sound :D

  • listening to it is such a calming pleasure

  • it's a martin guitar? I love how the 6th string sounds.

  • wow the control of attack between each finger is amazing, just listens to all those hidden tones,

  • excellent vid rpoland you know this guy personally?,, thanks

  • Must have been exciting to record such a masterful guitarist as Pino Forastiere. Great job on the mix!

  • I'm curious, was there any adjustment to the audio besides EQ? Maybe some chorus? I'm not sure if what I'm hearing is phasing between the pickup on the guitar and the A-B configuration, but its a nice effect.

  • i'm no expert but what you could be hearing is a droning effect caused by ringing notes semitones apart played on different strings while being struck at different accents at differents places above the sound hole creating the string to produce the same pitch but not in the same frequency therfore sounds like chorus because the guitar resonates frequency 1,pitch 1 while frequency 2 ,pitch 1 is played.add a semitone with the same applied technique you get 4 frequencies in one similar range.

  • Yep being a guitar player myself, I know all about the different tone characteristics one could achieve by striking a string at different places along the body and the neck of the guitar. I believe what you're referring to is the harmonic series which result after a fundamental (a single note). Also, Pino Forastiere moves closer and further away from the mics which could alter the characteristics of the guitar slightly. Any angle we analyze, you see that Pino's skill is present.

  • @RPJoey you are hearing a simple stereo recording, eq maybe, chorus...nope. :)

  • @Schweinedarl - Yeah, no doubt. His positioning to the mics gave it that "chorus" I heard initially. He shifts alot, so its really interesting to listen to.

  • REALLY GOOD! I like this artist, his music is unique.

  • its a mix of Expressionist musicians. ^_^ that is what makes it so cool! ^_^

  • Truly awesome. TRULY AWESOME, DAMNIT!

  • This thing is good for you!

  • music!

  • great stuff!

  • the repetition of this piece is what gives it natural harmony, we are but vibrations of recycled matter and this piece truly touches that part of me, very soothing to the being underneath the noise of man's ideals...wonderful composition!

  • my my

  • his music reminds of the music of sim city 3000: calm and relaxing and a little bit repetitve some parts of it.

  • YES!

  • Nice, but to repetative...

  • i think its meant to be....yknow, gives that hypnotic kind of feel

  • I guess you could say that, but sometimes it feels to much like a drone. I really like that piece, its not that, but I would it if they put some more variation into it.

  • sure, i know what you mean, he does that with a couple of his pieces, and as good as he is, he's not really one of my favs

  • It seems like most of the guitarist on this record label like to have very vague songs.

  • this song sounds a bit like faxing berlin by Deadmau5

  • this is my favorite song of his!!

  • lol.... ? do you even know what self indulgent means?

  • Yes, I do. What I meant is that there's a part or two where he keeps repeating the same piece, which doesn't even seem to sound that great but only he seems to enjoy repeating it.

  • Yea, but thats his piece... its his expression, I'm not sure how you can be too self indulgent in a creation of art.

  • lol, nice try.

  • this dude kinda creeps me out, but he plays some good music.

  • Those guys at candyrat sure know how to pick them!

    Outstanding! Five Stars from me!

  • That right hand of his is so fluid... like watching water move. One day... haha...

  • great¡¡

  • Best vid of this guy!

  • i would have to say that this is my fav so far as far as pino goes

its pieced together really well........simple but moving

  • kinda reminds me of nobuo uematsu's music

  • I love him... His music is great. And you can tell he -really- enjoys playing.

  • love it.

  • Only Pino Forastiere sounds like Pino Forastiere.

He is one of the most unique guitarplayers, and one of my absolute favorites.

  • amazing!

  • Fajne !!

    Beautiful sound.

  • Great feeling!

  • Detroit, March 7h with Antoine Dufour & Craig D'Andrea

  • It's actually "Fashionable Ferndale" but you know that! LOL! See you there!!

  • awesome!

  • a rare smile?

  • His music brings me somewhere I have never been before! Phenomenal

  • I feel the same...

  • if we could all only picture the colors and visuals that are behind those closed eyelids, while hes playing..... spec-tacular!

  • Tension magnifiquement intense !

  • This guy plays magnificently, and his facial expressions are classic, very amusing to watch.

  • God i just love Pino. His playing is so minimal and intense! I can't wait for more videos of him!

  • This DUDE is genius

  • Beaker, anyone?

  • this guy is soooo classy, love your stuff man! 5*****

  • Fantastic, 5 * !!

  • Sorry but what does what you look really matter when it comes to music?

  • Seriously ,

If their music is good then fuck what they look like .

  • he is amazing...

  • .wow.

  • I demand Moresco be uploaded ASAP!

  • G0D666 Its actually uploaded in yahoo videos :D

  • so expressive, so perfect

    congratulations ;D

  • Dear rpoland - if you will be posting anymore of the Forastiere videos from this recording session and if you take requests, would you please post: "L'Uomo Vuoto". I would like everyone who already loves Pino's work, to get ready to be blown away by what I feel is one of the most creative solo guitar tunes ever composed - L'Uomo Vuoto !

  • incredible tone man so well played and beautifully written very impressive musicality. Teach me Obe1 :P

  • fuck i love this guy so much, all his videos are lethal. good man yerself.

  • I love Acoustic music like this.

but Andy McKee is the man.

    this is great too

  • Wonderful !!!

    Thanks NightAirDreamer for sharing this!

    Congrats to the perfomer!

  • lovely, thankyou for posting.

  • Thank God i Subscribe to Rpoland...

    This is Awesome...

    Anyone of u Hate it?

  • he really enjoying himself with his playing ... lol

  • Diablo III soundtrack for sure!

Awesome this is impressive. Expressive work !! 10/10!

  • he is a uber-advanced Vini Reilly (The Durutti Column)....... such ease... relaxed emotion.. a total flow of serenity.....

  • wow, fantastic. this guy should be writing and performing film scores. maybe he already does! if not he should find some up and coming director or something. This is very real talent and dedicated craftmanship, in my opinion. 10/10.

  • I'm constantly amazed by how smooth and relaxed this man's playing is, even when playing such harmonically challenging music. Many players would focus on the dissonance and bunch themselves up, get tight. Forastiere just lets it flow.

  • wow.... this is really one of your best songs. So much passion, emotion, truth and illusion is rare in songs!

    5 Stars from me!

  • Now THAT'S music.

Music composed with such an ease so well, with so much art is a blessing to listen to... And the people like these artists at candyrat are so interesting, music and harmony just flow out of them in every aspect of their personalities... Makes me smile. :]
