  • video is tragic

  • This was always going to happen, an Oldfield and Anderson collaberation. Two slightly unhinged musical geniuses who sometimes confuse self indulgence with artistic endeavour.

  • Always thought the unshaven Oldfield looked like a copper

  • dancing higher is allways possible

  • i fucking love you jon!

  • Jon Anderson couldnt resist inhaling helium before recording

  • Mike Oldfield is a Genius!!! Great!!!

  • very good 3d graphic

  • Just horrible!!!!!

  • @egolandia69 lol

  • 1:57 ..........best guitar solo of the 80s....

  • ¡Que dos genios se juntan aqui¡ dos de mis musicos preferidos, se trata sin duda de una estupenda canción, gracias x subirla

  • My god, why, why why ?

What happened to such artist in the 80's ? And the sound of the drums ?

I definitely hate these MEGADISCO-REVERB years.

  • Mike's guitar looks like a Gibson SG X , with aTP-6 stopbar tail piece. Not sure about the bridge , anyone know what model he uses?

  • FANTASTIC SONG!!

Jon's has one of the best voices in the music.

  • This song is excellent and it reminds me of sci-fi, shows and sci-fi films such as, Blake's 7, Dr Who, Star Maidens, Star Wars, Battle Galactica, Fireball XL5 and also Space 1999 it is so good in every way.

  • JON ANDERSON SUPO DARSE CUENTA DE SU VOZ ,ESO ES TODO

  • @purrusco

  • This is cheesy as hell but quite funny.

  • Encantado

  • Estupenda canción. Un saludo.

  • excelleeent

  • and another thing, I bet this video was made on an old-school Amiga computer.

  • The cheesiest video ever, but the song is good.

  • @whiterobin Dude, I'm laughing my ass off as I write this. You hit the nail on the head.

  • Jon Anderson is incomparable. I was touched by his music in 1988 when he was in Yes. I hope he can tour again.

  • :) Brilliant*:)

  • Great distortion.

  • Nice!

  • unique

  • I normally think Anderson's voice is superb but hearing it here with the video makes him look simple-minded and he sounds an idiot. Give me Maggie Reilly any day, with Mike Oldfield.

  • this song just overflows with joy and relaxation.mike and jon are a pairing that just works it is a pleasure to hear a piece of music devoid of stupid attitude.plus the guitar solo just sends shiver down my spine.thanx yesmuseum

  • Almost forget this one...thanks for bringing it back..

  • This song is, for me, a prove of men´s ability to dream without interest in faults of a woman. This is about admiration, love and pure readiness to fulfill "all of you need and you desire"..Isn´t it great? :)

  • hahaha this is one of my favorite songs, jon anderson is a god, and so is Mike Oldfield!!!

  • worst video I ever saw, makes me so happy!

  • tańce były .. . super kawałek

  • Amazing 3D effects for 1986...

  • super

  • Does anyone know if this track is on CD anywhere? Got the single on a 45 but I've never seen it listed on a CD.

  • @brinner16

was off of the 1987 Mike O album, Islands.

Lord alone knows if its listed on CD now. Great duo on it with Kevin Ayers, also a proper gravelly epic collaboration with Bonnie "1gallon of wine and 40 Marlboro" Tyler.

  • JON JON JON Long live for ever ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Love extended version more than this one.

  • Awesome guitar solo! ^_^ In a later interview it was mentioned to Mike that Jon said he liked everything about this song except "the silly lyrics". Mike found that to be rather odd, as it was Jon who wrote the lyrics. ^_^

  • @DallasHammster: indeed one of oldfields greatest solos. pure 80s cheese (esp. mikeys homemade fairlight vci-video-clips), but musically there've been many more sins in that days. love the 12" of shine, it's less radio-oriented.

  • Didn't know this existed. Thanks for posting! Trippy solo! :-)

  • I'm a big fan of Mike Oldfield and also of Jon Anderson, but I never knew they made a duet! Thanks for posting. The song's not bad.

  • Yeah man - CHEESE MY LIFE!

  • haha, i love mike, but your soooo right!

  • one of the best songs, played by one of greatest guitarist ever (in my opinion of course :-)

80's It was the time of the greatest musicians... nowadays I have big problem to find good young singers etc...

MTV is full of "artists" - not enough dressed girls with horrible voices, nothing special in their eyes... only plastic bodies are around 9 and 10 (from 1 to 10) and only that... :(

That's why I 've been watching only old good songs from 80's

  • @ShenKun22 i agree totally

  • @ShenKun22 These guys were all 70's musicians!!!!!! The 80's was a disaster for music...

  • @DanLetts97 I agree ...

  • This song just like a Pictures in The Dark was only on single or maxi single, and probably is enable on some compilation (I think... or in youtube :). That songs was made when i grow up (some years ago :) and I very good remember how I got them - from radio only - Poland in this years was a big black hole in music records stores, radio was a one and only source of music. Funny but I still remember how look cassettes where I record this songs :)

  • Never heard this song before is it off "Islands"?

  • the song shine was only ever released as a single but u will find it on Mike Oldfield's The Platinum Collection (disc 3) :-)

  • maybe one of mike's best pop-guitar-solos?

  • Jon has the best voice of anyone anywhere ever. Tenors are a dime a dozen but Anderson is a freak.

  • Comment removed

  • song all the year......i love you.....

  • thanks God, finally 1 hear this song again

i feel like waiting forever since all my cassette was disappear.

tanks for yesmuseum for your upload

viva youtube! none but just the BEST!

  • I am real fan of the early prog yes stuff.. but this song is excellent still..very very simple

and it's still prog.. never heard anything like that before or after

  • two progressive masters surrended to pop music... but the song is good

  • so maybe we could call it progressive pop.

  • good idea

  • it was the glorious 80s- saw the abuse and surrender of many a music legend- it is what it is, yes? :)

  • alot of the songs written by Mike with vocals were pop. great song, great guitar solo!!

  • To think that jon anderson was part of "awaken" and "Close to the edge" he now sounds like an adolescent from x factor.

  • I do,I do!!!....it is exactly what i wanted to write.

  • Jeeeez!...... you know how to launch a verbal assault.

  • when i purchased this as a 15 year old in -86 it was just purrr-fect. the solo rocked hard then and it does now. but this was the 1st time ever i saw the video, it's a mix of corny and chic, very 80s. (oh and those who call this crap etc: you haven't been in love, or even just laid, for a long while have you. plus clearly you're not a musician. whoever you are, not saying any names. :-) have a nice day!) :-D

  • Two wonderful "monsters"... 5*****

  • A Beautiful blend of Images! and Beautiful Lyrics from jon Anderson!

  • great song vangelis and anderson are always a great combination

  • It's no worse then some of what Genesis/Phil Collins put out in the 80's

  • I think I have this on vinyl somewhere. I TOTALLY forgot about this. Though it reminds me of the Song of Seven/Three Ships material in many ways.

  • Where are my childhood heroes? T_T

  • Jon ,needed the dough

  • somewhat cheeeeezy, but both performers are demigods in my choooooozy pantheon

  • Wow - cheesy in the extreme... But entertaining, I suppose.

  • look at those PiP windows , i had a VCR who could do that too! thx for the upload Lee!

  • This song is from Anderson's Three Ships album right?

  • No, it was a single by Mike oldfield. "the Path" was the b-side

  • I commented on the other version, so I'll do a brief recap here - not my favourite song, but one of the best guitar solos ever committed to record.

  • I didn't know there was video for this. Nice to see 2 masters at work. Very cool, I love some of these odd, surreal 80s videos. :)

  • somebody knows where i can take the tabs of the solo?

  • Okay I did NOT know he teamed up with Mike Oldfield!! Isn't he the same guy who created the awesome, "Songs of Distant Earth?"

  • Yep,Mike Oldfield composed Songs of Distar Earth as well as the classic Tubular Bells(which was used on The Exorcist).

  • john john!!! there is only on treu master at work guess who?

  • czn u say fals profet<dificult to paly giutar.

  • euhm sorry EPIC FAIL his name is written Jon....

  • Not bad!

  • Love you Jon

    Kindness and light to you

  • i love this video/remember it from way back when they used to run it on MTV at night. mike's solo is one of my favorites.

  • Jon, we loooooove you!! Get your asses on road in 2008, we can´t wait anymore. We´ve had enough of solos already.

  • i here ya....cant wait..hope they will tour again...peace..happy holiday to everyone

  • the computer graphics in Mikes videos is funny :P

  • Mmmm... prehistoric graphics:) I like it!

  • Mike used to direct his own videos during the 80's,like this one.

  • he must have had some killer equipment to do all this graphix :P

  • i really love John Anderson and his voice in awesome, but man does he look really goofy in this video. never the less much love.

  • I'm french and i discover that guy not long time ago and he's so good !

  • I love Jon's pure high voice....

    heavenly !! !

  • Jon is so good...

  • Mike is so good...

  • great song...lllove this song

  • what a great solo

  • Anderson has a naturally high voice to be sure, like Gilbert O'sullivan and Neil Sedaka. There is absolutely no way these men's voices sound female - high voices yes but the timbre and quality of vocal is masculine.Nice video and locattions. Thanks.

  • Oh dear

What was Mike thinking? His Crises era output was fine, but this is dire - as if Jon Anderson, the man with no balls

  • If you think this song is shit, why don't you try to sing these high notes, like Jon? Or why don't you try to write a song for this kind of voice? Mike knows what, why and how. A great MO fun

  • this song is so catchy..sickeningly catchy

  • Mediocre song, but a hilarious guitar solo.

  • SHIT

  • Yeah, it is a bit shit innit? I'm afraid alot of these Prog Rocker Demigods, were caught by the terror of the Eighties. Bollocks is the word I'm looking for.

  • I love JA but he doesn't half make me laugh in videos, hahahahah.

  • Imagine Jon Anderson on helium

  • How Gay!

  • Love it.

  • It's not near as good as "In high places", but it's cool, almost funny.

LOl, the video reminds me my Commodore 64 times.

  • I agree.. this song gets away with it, almost defiantly! But sadly, the superior "In High Places" features only with a different singer on YouTube :-( just not the same.

  • What album is this on???

  • This was never on an album, it was a one-off single. Although it might pop up on an obscure compilation somewhere.

  • Wow!!! ... I remember this song and video from way back when ... awesome ... thanks for posting!!

  • My stomach is bileing up a storm. What garbage.

  • well if u dont like it why did u click on it? he can do alot better then u can i bet

  • I waited for decades to listen to this song again. Thanks for posting.

  • Nice!

  • Two artists who have produced so much great music get together and produce . . . rubbish. Ooooh, this is painful to listen to.

  • Considering extraordinary achivements of the both of them, I'd say it's pretty mediocre... Sorry, I'm a HUGE fan of Mike and Yes, but... Thanx for posting though.

  • Totally agree with you

  • toss

  • tubular anderson

  • just one of many great songs of the genius Mike oldfield

  • Definitely superior - thanks!

  • Dude, this is so dated, but I still love it lol.

  • Estas Mithrandir. Gandalf, muchacho! En el culo!

  • es muy gay esto no?
