A funny sketch but the shame of it is a lot of people in specialist hi-fi stores really are that arrogant even today. Even a few years ago some guy in Billy Vee Lewisham UK said I was talking nonsense regarding new speakers "burning in". What that twat didn't realize is because he talked down to me he lost a sale of £2,000 (I bought them in Sevenoaks Hi-Fi instead B&W 703 speakers)

How do you mentally separate out the part that's neural adaptation from the part that's speaker burn-in?

Even if you kept yr current speakers in cold storage(unused) they can sound funny (trust me I blew a tweeter due to cold storage) . What annoyed me was/is the WAY hi-fi retailers talk to you...that's why there is no industry anymore . They enjoy belittling people & yr average Joe will just say fuck it I am buying Bose if if yr lucky B&W Zepplin

My point is this weather I want to buy a can of baked beans, a sofa or a hi-fi system, I want to assistant to just be pleasant to me , inform me, sell me the product & if I am wrong on a point tell me without being rude. In England in the late 1970s buying a hi-fi was the top luxury item to have & it was known & unfortunately still known hifi retailers
