  • He's royally fucked

  • Best movie of all time! In 1997 (Hals birthday) Roger Ebert hosted a viewing in Urbana IL home of the University of Illinois. He had spruced up an old theater with local help. Ted Turner sent a 70mm print and it was projected with a Super Panavision projector. Arthur C. Clark showed up via Silicone Graphics computers and the relatively new WEB video chat to audience. The actor for Frank Poole was there and pieces of HAL from the set.

As the orchestra warms up, I am beginning to peak. :)~

  • @jpiper2001 HAL's birthday is 1992 as stated in the movie, Kubrick didn't show up to that party because he was a total stickler

  • My mom had a birthday card on her desk that says, "I really want you to have a happy birthday" on the front.

This is the voice in my head every time I think about it.

  • Oh, Siri, you keen gal.

  • I like asking Siri this; she doesn't think it's too funny.

  • Is it me or does it sound like he's saying Hell instead of HAL?

  • @thumblesswonder : I hadn't thought of it before, but I believe the ambiguity was intentional. "HAL"= hell.

  • @buzzclick500 Makes sense.

  • The whole reason the iPod is called the "iPod" !

  • I can feel the angst.

  • And I side with Hal, against the sinister and hypocritical human plotters. In your face ;)

  • @mrteemumilto : Does "angst" mean a major case of p*** off and frustration on the part of David Bowman, in regards to the machine created by his so-called "fellow man"? Garbage in, garbage out. ;])

  • @buzzclick500 Yea

  • @mrteemumilto : 8-)
