@amer37365 Technically, you're right, the race counted for the World Championship, but it was an Championship Car (Indy Car) race. It wasn't run to Formula 1 regulations.
The guy crouched on the side taking pics almost met his maker, too....that car was coming toward him fast, he was lucky to have gotten out of the way, just in the nick of time! My dad was a huge racing fan, and some of my worst childhood memories are seeing the fatal crashes live and in person. I have never gone to a track as an adult.
