@FUCKWEZZY26 Have you seen the commercials with the soldier coming home and getting out of the Chevy then the announcer says "Chevy runs deep" ?  What's more patriotic than that? Sure, that's a Chevy commercial....many Silverado's are made in Mexico too. And it's not like GM is charging less for the cars that they saved so much in wages. The jobs are needed here. It's an American car company and if GM runs so fucking deep, give those jobs to people here, even if it costs a little more.

I think GM is working for Ford. They make dated, undesirable trucks to compliment the F-150 and give you crap customer service, another way of telling you to "go next door to Ford". It's like that hot girl in the bar that has the fat friend, they use the fat girl to make themselves look better. and they succeed. My fleet salesman said GM truck sales dropped 25% in 2011 from GM guys going to F-150's.

@vettedude418 No.....an upgraded engine is what you pay extra for. The 5.3 would be an upgraded engine. Did GM really make these trucks the best they can be, and really to tackle the competition? Not really, they made it so the guys that had previous years would upgrade. I HAVE NEVER heard anyone converting from a Ford to a GM in the past 5-6 years. The 07 trucks were adequate at best. Nothing ground breaking at all. GM needs to step up and make something worth switching brands for.

@vettedude418 And to further add on to the lack of groundbreaking content from GM, Ford and Dodge produced market shifting trucks that had GM guys scrambling to trade. in 2004, Ford introduced a new level of luxury, cabin space and refinement. In 2009, Dodge had a new rear suspension design that made the ride excellent and a car-like interior. In 2011 Ford introduced new engines. From what I've heard, GM's going to have the same type of TT V6 engine as Ford that probably won't be any better.

@TheSaikou96 you can put anygrade of gasoline in any gas-powered motor. diesel, though, only takes diesel, i learned that the hard way. but i have a 2009 denali sierra and i use mid-grade and runs great.

@crh0000 That's not always true. If a certain type of gas is required for a vehicle, then that's the type you have to put in, otherwise, you'll mess the engine up. For example, Premium Gas is mainly for the high-performance vehicles out here(don't think you would put Premium in a Honda Civic; it'll kill that engine lol).

Nice review, nice truck! My 2nd favourite to the F-150. But one thing, this engine is still a 16-valve pushrod design, not a DOHC 32-valve design. It has VVT and I believe it is cast in an all-aluminium.
