otherwise im like why am i watching this

  • @AXmichigan seriously

  • in this video lesson you please

  • im guessing these pickups are the lindy fralin blues specails?

  • rubbish

  • @theholeway1 Thanks, I highly value your considered opinion.

  • @vintagekory Cool. I play rubbish Jimi too! My fav pastime. Rock on dude!!

  • @vintagekory They say an a**hole born every second...it seems like more are born on the net huh? theAholeway is a perfect name for the douchebag.

    Great Hendrix tune btw

  • @theholeway1 if this is rubbish try posting a better cover than this youll see how rubbish this is and its the best lil wing cover ive heard on youtube

  • OMG awesome!

  • Sounds good to me. Which amp are you using, the Fender?

  • which are better??.. texas special pickups? or these

  • playin great mate sounds like tiny strings though

  • @MoongrassNoel Yeah those are 9's tuned low, they were bad on intonation too. It's because I am a huge Jimi fan that I do these, generally I don't like doing covers, without reeeally changing them to make them my own, I kept unusually close note wise on this one, not tempo or other factors but the notes, to let people see the hand positions for the notes which was one of my intents. Regards.

  • cool

  • Hi Kory, Great stuff man! Love your tone. What amp are you playing through, and what gear and signal path did you use to record it? Thanks!

  • nice cover!

  • what kind of fralin pups?

  • awesome!

omg this is the best verion of little wing i ever saw on youtube!

please take look at my verion too and say how i can do it better!

  • nice cover man, try to work on speed and then i can insure u this cover will be the best in youtube.

  • @DBDMagiC I learned this in one day in about 12 hours straight from the Andy Aledort video...I'm that mellow a guy. I have long since forgotten how to play it. You are right the tempo ain't right and I get off the click track like 3 times, I wish I still remembered it so I could try it again. Rock on.

  • @vintagekory damn i wish i could learn this in one day... but ppl be tellin me i learn stuff pretty quick .. im playing for like 3 weeks and i can hold any chored and i know how to play pretty hard songs.. and i really want to learn this song.. so when ill learn this ill let ya know ;]

  • @vintagekory

A bit more wrist movement and it would sound more Hendrixy.

  • Does a studio version exist?

  • Nice! You can still speak to Fraylin I spoke to him today for about 20 minutes!

    Really nice playing!!!

  • really good job

  • Pretty cool !!!

  • Let people say what they will about the performance. But the tone sounds pretty dang awesome!

  • he did perform this live, improvising it in different ways every time...

  • Hendrix did perform this live, its on 10 Great Performances

  • NIce!!!!!!!!

  • amazing, best cover on youtube (of this song)

  • Thanks, I always felt I got most of his notes but kinda missed a lot of the feel of the song. Other Hendrix vids I have, I butcher his notes but capture his vibe a bit more. Regards, vintagekory.

  • you missed some, but I really think in a way you made the song yours, and really just added sort of an original touch.I enjoy your playing style,is what im getting at I guess lol

  • Nice!!!

What set Lindy Pickups are you using?

  • Hey,

i also have an '88 strat with EE serial# 22 frets, mine is also U.S made, just wondering if yours also has a brass nut?

  • The strat is basically 100% stock except for the fralins, which were put in during the mid 90's. Which by any account means they were incredibly early in Lindy fralin's pickup career. He would call the client, ask what kind of music they played, and build the pickups accordingly...true story. These would be closest to what he calls vintage hot, now. The nut is the regular fender nylon type.

  • i agree, i prefer a fairly stock strat myself, they are probably the most playable out of the box

  • Nice Playing :D

  • awesome!

  • Super,Super Congratulacion

  • very good, compliments

  • Very Nice! muito bom mesmo cara ;D

  • Great playing!! these stratocasters are simply amazing, just like you.

  • simple beautiful ! very compliments

  • you should play that tele in a video too.

  • I was looking for Lindy Fralin pick-ups for a strat. Which model do you have in it please? By the way nice playing and tone! Cheers!

  • These were VERY early Lindy Fralin pickups back when he first started, they would be closest to Vintage Hot. Personally, I like the 50's vintage sound, you may also want to try Peter Florance Voodoo pickups, they are very close to 60's pickup sound. My other strat video.

  • you said their similar to vintage hots. i just bought some for a christmas present for myself lol. do you think that vintage hots can achieve a nice hendrix tone. i thought they would cause the woodstock 69s are just reversed staggered vintage hots. thanx

  • Haha I have my dads 57 in my hands right now

  • Sweet. I'll trade ya straight across.

  • NO! :P

  • nice tone dude!

  • Wow, I recognize you! I love what you do for the youtube kids! Years ago, I had hoped to put free guitar lessons up for kids on a budget, and then I saw people like you and thought, wow others are doing it better than I can anyway. Thanks so much for what you do here, dude you're one of the best things about the youtube community my friend. vintagekory

  • yeah man, nice choice of pickups!i love fralins

  • Oh snap!

  • What kind of Fralins? Vintage Hot? Blues Specials? Woodstock?

  • These are Fralins from the 90's, wound by Lindy himself, back before he became a big time company, they would most closely be similar to vintage hot. '88 strat, stock tbx harness. Stay tuned I will redo this better less mistakes and with a 1957 strat, Lindy strat, and a florance strat, all on the same amp setting, sweet spot of 18 watt clone, and maybe some vintage amps.

  • Sweet! Good job and keep on making more videos. :)
