@gyuguyguy try a radline they are wicked cheap,more off-road and cheap to upgrade....xmods are 1/28 (5-6 inches) and more for smooth street.....rpmz are better handling,better smooth street racing but get steering problems from small crashes they are larger 1/24 (7-8 inches)...check out my page for more details and vids......also can i buy your micro t?

well you can but you have to replace the board in the car because the board that is in the xmod can not be used with another controller.

from what i am told you can use a board from a mini z on a xmod (making it a zmod). then you can use another controller.

xspeed-just put electrical tape around your rear tires, and you will be able to drift without messing up ur tires.

zbakerzrule-best thing I can say is just take it back and swap it out for another one at the store. It would be too hard for a beginner to fix that problem, no offense.

I super glued mine on. I know it makes it impossible to switch tires easily but its a great way to keep tires on. mine never come off!

Notice all the crashing, glitching into walls? This is normal for XMODS. If you EVER plan on upgrading it, DONT BUY AN XMOD. I own both and I say get the MiniZ AWD. It's a better 1/27-1/28 scale car and has better handling, control, and drifting capabilities.

The majority of them were Stage 2 (I think). It might just be the camera making them look faster than they really are. :)

can someone explain the meaning of scale for me? what does it mean when it says 1:10, 1:24, 1:25, 1:26 on these RC cars. I'm trying to buy one for my little bro for his Christmas Present but I don't know which one is better than the other. Thanks

Scale represents the size of the car. For example, 1:1 would be the size of a real car, 1:2 would make it half the size of a real car, etc... I believe xmods are 1:28 scale, which makes them fairly small. A 1:28 car is going to be around 5" long where a 1:10 would be closer to 15".

Remember that bigger isn't always better and in the R/C world, you get what you pay for.

You cant have "Nitrous Oxide" effect electric motors in a positive way. Most likely it will explode from sparks off the commutator.

Big Lots/Odd Lots had it at one point and it was pretty inexpensive.

It was called something like "Work floor shop mat".

You could also check places like Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc..

We bought it a few years ago, so they might not have it anymore. It's not designed for R/C cars, it's actually a type of foam flooring that just happens to work great for R/C cars.

Lowes or Home Depot might have something similar. The walls were not included, we made them out of foam pipe insulators.

Part 3: We generally race the Xmods in the winter months. Last year we raced about every other weekend for several hours.

Part 2: Track - can be found at Kmart, Walmart, Target, etc... it is basically just excersize mats/garage work mats turned upsidedown. It is much cheaper than the Radioshack track, and it works really well once you set your car up for it.

Xmods are a great entry level RC car, and since they are reasonably priced it is easy to get your friends involved. At one point we had about 15 coming to race. I highly recommend them.

Just to answer a few questions: Some of the cars are Evolutions - G35's, Mustang GT(blue), Cobra R Mustang(red/one of my cars), EVO 8. Gen 1 cars - 350z's, Supra, RSX.

Mods: most of the cars are close to stock. The only car running Lithium Ion batteries is the Orange 350z without a windshield. The Mustang's had basically ALL the Radioshack upgrades installed. The Blue mustang(camera car at end) had AWD the Cobra R(mine) did not have AWD installed.

I wouldn't say fast, nitro cars/trucks are a lot faster, but the maintenance is a lot lower on electric cars.

Yeah, nitro cars need batteries, but they're only used to control the electronics such as the throttle, brakes, etc.. so they take a lot longer to wear down.

If you're seriously wanting to get into it, I would suggest stopping by the nearest hobby shop in your area and see what they have/suggest. They're usually very knowledgable and can help you get started.
