Heck too late now. My controller stopped working so I used it for target practice, as I like to do with electronic devices that are broken. I don't think it's fixable after taking a .357 mag round.
The words Aluminum and Aluminium can drive people crazy. Canadians and Americans use Aluminum. The British for example, use Aluminium. From what I was told Aluminum was a North American trade name for the metal and stuck. But here's the funny part. We Canadians/Americans laugh at the Brits with their funny sounding Aluminium. Take a moment and google the periodic table of elements. Find the Al symbol........you guessed it, ALUMINIUM! Doh
LOL, I used to do this all the time when I had to use disposable batteries back in the day. The contacts would loose their tight fit over time and this was the way to go :) It's a very simple, yet an elegant trick. Thanks for bringing up frustrating memories :P
i normally just throw things on the ground or drop them. My remote for my trucks alarm wasnt wanting to work and Because my truck has a kill switch i needed it to work. So I dropped it on the ground and then it worked. But because I only had the one remote I got a new alarm system and no longer have these problems with the remote.
yes in fact he could haVe died he is very forutnate to have survived touching both sides of a triple A battery this is what kill john f kennedy and joseph stalin they were foolish enough to tamper with deadly 1.5 volt batteries and it was in the governments best intrest to say they were assassinated or died from a mysterious heart problem that way their leaders would not look like morons it is possible that taofledermaus has a mutation that protects him from electricity
@elflordbob1 Man I know! My dad almost does from it! He walked up and picked it up right out of a charger too! Hope you never touch these deadly things. I only touch the label, but I'm afraid of the radiation that leaks. Any tips?
the most logical choice of action would be to hire a russian haz mat team to come to your home and place of business to deradiate all objects and people you have come in contact with this is ver expensive but the only other choice is to throw the battery away and risk radiation contamination of underground aqueducts which would spread the radiation and potentiallykill billions
@joblessalex radiation from a battery...what are they teaching in pubic schools these days?!?!? first condoms on bananas, then we get Obama as president!
Hmm. This makes me wonder if there is only one contact point between the battery and the terminal, and that the terminal is worn somehow. But with the aluminum foil, then there are perhaps more contact points to pass the electricity? Take with a grain of salt... totally an off-the-top-of-my-head guess.
Bummer! I thought you were going to do the repair job with a 12ga. slug.

I have this happen a lot with my remotes...This way might work better since throwing them up against the wall doesn't really work to well.

I just bend the contacts out a little for a tighter fit.

I replace alot of those batteries at my shop for garage door openers and gates . The biggest problem here is from the salt air .
krazy45cat 1 month ago
i always just bend the springs out a little more if they get loose like that.

I also use some sandpaper to rough up the terminals on the battery. It gets the microscopic corrosion off the terminals, I think.

Nice. I found that it can also be caused by a loose solder joint on the circuit board.

VicariousReality7 1 month ago
@VicariousReality7 aluminum actually is a very good conductor but it developes a clear oxide that insulates it.
