  • He never asked for this.

  • Poor moth

  • What's scary is that may be the basis for going further. From easy subjects to manipulate to repties, and then to mammals, mouse for sure, dogs, monkeys, and then..?

  • @starbg92 Or disabled people or spying on for war to save people, heck even rescues when a camera is needed of rescue

  • Aghhh......... Scientists these days

  • Why don't they just use dead bugs , I mean , the cells are still there for stimulation , the muscles are still there , why not just use dead bugs ,

  • @thesalanian cells die rapidly after the death of the individual, and the research is done because it might later be used on living humans, therefor its neccesary to use living organisms.

  • Might be a little overkill.. Interesting tho.

  • im sorry, but this is really fucking cruel

  • @chrispudneyblitz How so? Most of your everyday life is cruel to most animals, how is research towards progression more cruel the for example, you eating meat?

  • @RawSwedishMeatball because eating is a natural process and is necessary for life... cyborgs aren't. also, animals grown for food are killed humanely, whereas these moths are kept alive, making this a form of torture

  • @chrispudneyblitz You dont think its torture for food to live in cages all their lives, being overfed and geneticly altered to suit our needs? you dont find it as torture as a lion slowly sufficates a gazele? Nature is cruel, its a part of the natural process, there is no need to feel sorry by something like this, we live, they die, thats how nature goes on.

  • @RawSwedishMeatball well aren't you a narrow minded individual? and in response to your first question, i eat organic

  • @chrispudneyblitz My point is that nature is cruel, and the progression of science to improve probably millions of humans lives are more important the the suffering of a moth. This is not close minded, feeling sorry for a bug is. You kill bugs every day for no reason, but this "torture" has a reason.

  • @RawSwedishMeatball ...i dont kill bugs

  • @chrispudneyblitz Everytime you clean you kill bugs, everytime you are out walking you kill bugs. Yes, this is not aware killing, but my point still stands.

  • @RawSwedishMeatball ok, so now accidentally killing bugs is on par with totruring a moth? you sir, are a troll. goodnight.

  • @chrispudneyblitz No, you are a wonder, you don't drink or eat and live in a bubble.... You eat bugs everyday.

  • @wanttoseemysnake accidentally and without knowing, yes. but these 'scientists' are purposefully torturing an innocent, helpless moth

  • Whoa.....

  • Science is good but This moth maybe a bug and its alive.. doing this to a living thing was never good.

  • One day humanity will turn into the fucking combine from half-life 2. Sad

  • MOTH erfuckers

  • That's just plain wrong. I really hate humanity. If you wanted to test something that much you would test it on your own fucking species

  • @Omfgwhtavid go die then, youre no use to humanity.

  • @TheZombiekilla159 I'm more useful than you, and I hate humanity. That says something.

  • @Omfgwhtavid Then kill yourself. It would make us happier without your little pacifist, hippie idiot.

  • @Omfgwhtavid There are billions of moths around the world. -__- -1 moth won't cause an apocalypse... This isn't humanity, this is evolution. Plus, it wasn't torturing the moth, it was just doing what a brain does. The moth felt no different. -__-

  • @IPWNFORCHEESE When did I say it would cause an apocalypse? 1 Human wouldn't cause an apocalypse. No one human is important, I am worth nothing. So why would you involve a moth that has nothing to do with our own evolution? Just test on some nobody who has done nothing for the world. Simple.

  • @Omfgwhtavid It was a figure of speech dumb ass. Just stop worrying about a moth.

  • @IPWNFORCHEESE But why is it any less important than you? Give me one good reason. I wont take intelligence as a valid reason because it's very rare that a Human is actually intelligent. At least 90% of our species just copy, because that's what every living creature on this planet does to survive. But other than the rare few individuals, intelligence can not be counted.

  • @Omfgwhtavid So are you telling me that a cat could make an air conditioning unit? Or a water filter so that they don't die of parasites? Humans are the ruling species on this world. We have hardly copied anything except maybe filtering water and hunting techniques. Do you think inventing the computer you're whining on right now was something copied off of a fucking mouse? NO. Over the 1 million machines originally made by MAN. Why is it less important to me? Because it's a FUCKING BUG.

  • @IPWNFORCHEESE Are you stupid? I am in no way a hippy or pacifist. I fought in the army for 2 years, being peaceful is not a thing I do. Man is the top of the food chain, we can make computers, air conditioning units, whatever. But my point is only a handful of people discovered how to make/do anything. Every other mother fucker just copies because that is in our nature. Do you think mechanics would be able to build ANY of these things if someone hadn't showed them how to?

  • @Omfgwhtavid XD You were in the Army... but yet... you get pissy over a moth being controlled by a human?!

  • @IPWNFORCHEESE Well for one, I'm not pissy about anything, do you really think you can piss me off over the internet? Also, yes. Yes I do. I got a high off taking lives because I hate humanity, I think they're fighting for nothing in the war, but I like fighting and getting paid so whatevs.

  • @Omfgwhtavid thx to all of the human rights laws passed by people complaining about humanity, if anyone did that, all hell would break loose.

  • We may want to rethink the whole "Fly on the Wall" thing...

  • Now combine a Midi controller with a bird's vocal chords!!

  • This moth is as brainwashed as a North Korean.

    I love it.

  • FUCK MY LIFE IF I WERE THAT BUG

  • How did i get from Teen titans to this?

  • god damn what the hell is wrong with her voice

  • So many people took me serious. I was mocking all these hippies shrieking about the moth and how it's being "abused".

  • @Thecheif71

that's what makes youtube so much fun!!!

  • I have no idea why, but when I look at this, it makes my stomach turn. :/ I don't know if it's the bug that causes a yuck-reaction, or if it's this technology. It's spooky somehow.

  • This shits gunna get crazy in 100 years. The government will have control over you x.x

  • Use mosquitoes instead, Then nobody will fuck with you , they are killed anyways :D

  • AND THE WII WAS BORN!!!! LOL

  • Hmm... In a sense, if we could harness the actual thought process of a bug, we could install windows 95 in to it's brain. I do believe their brains are still more complex than computers of today.

  • poor u.u

  • While this is cool, I can't help but imagine how humans will abuse other humans once it can be fully applied. What wouldn't you do to other humans for the sake of profit and rage and hate and a reproductive edge?!

  • I know that these things will have their sensors, control chip and generator installed during their pupal stage to make it the perfect little spy gadget. But the big question for me is, how would they keep these altered bugs from being a meal for a bird, a spider, or a lizard when they're sent out into the world?!

  • @Thecheif71 pff lol

  • @Thecheif71 Stop abusing capslock.

  • @Thecheif71 dont worry there are too many insects but worry if they use too much

  • @Thecheif71 Fuck Of Jesus :|

  • @vikaskarade

PLEASE USE THAT PHRASE IN A COMPLETE SENTENCE.

  • @Thecheif71 i guess you have never heard of a slaughter house and the way worse shit that goes on there. who cares about insects this is nothing

  • @Thecheif71 jeez calm down Science is fun

"See this vial of purple thing?"

    (Drop)

    *Nuclear Explosion*

    "....IM STILL ALIVE"

  • @Thecheif71

only FUCKTARDS use all caps, teh instead of the, 1's instead of !'s and Z's instead of S's...

    get a life.

  • @SuperTreasureTroll I think they were making a joke....

  • @bouncyballblue

    they, meaning me?!! lmfao

  • @SuperTreasureTroll Only FUCKTARDS can't detect a troll when they see one.

  • @Thecheif71

especially ones that announce it openly!

  • I FIND THIS DISTURBING

  • iv been thinking about human cyborg technology. i wonder how we are to attach metal and skin together. if we cannot there is the possibilty of serious infection

  • @Juands10 First we'll have to work our way around genetics, for an example fix the genes so that they do not react or take harm from objects that are not part of the body.

But with that done, you could as well program your own organic creatures like dogs with rocket launchers coming out of their arses who feed on gunbowder to refill their stocks.

  • Stop with the endless debate.

  • All you bongo beating hippies need to chill! The average June beetle ends up a Mack truck decal anyhow, so I'm sure if the average bug gave fu*k he would be honored that the last thing that will go thru his head won't be his A$s.

  • It's a bug! Who cares! I stamp on them every day!

  • Awesome!!!!

  • :'(

  • @Rajold me to :'I

  • You can't make cyborgs it's like your laughing i nthe face of god leave nature alone just make robots there's artafishal intelgince ai chips for robots you know that also can learn..

  • @TheRealPyramid Your belief in God echoes in your unimaginable spelling.

  • @TheRealPyramid Well, apparently they can huh :). "You can't do this, you can't do that". Get over your conservative morals and stop whining like a bitch because of biological lifeforms. They are nothing but a genetic mutation, an accident.

  • Learning is one of the noblest human endeavors and of the traits that sets us apart from other animals. Why should we be limited by the dogma of luddites? Some people whine and complain, oh the animals! Why are we some separate category? We are as much a part of the natural order as any other creature on this planet. How many of you have ever eaten meat? Alright then, consider this; if we hadn't come along and used the insect for research some other fish/mammal/bird would have eaten it anyway.

  • Squash them all!

  • why don't you leave bugs alone for fuck sake, how would you like it if someone stuck a wire half your size in you..

  • I still think we should experiment on humans, we're the last to evolve on this planet and just because we have technology that doesn't mean we should destroy the planet that we live on and the living beings here that give us that. Call me an animal rights tw@t if you will. Personally I would like to experiment on pedophiles in jail who get three meals a day and television. Let's see how their skin burns and put some mine seeking units on their back. That would put a smile on my face.

  • @Robertahausen From that comment, you are worse than the pedophiles. Before you accuse me of defending them with the previous sentence, get off your high horse. Your logic is backwards if you are thinking that. I'm saying that words spell actions, and your actions are worse than theirs if that's what you really think.

  • @Sukuraidogai how could i possibly be worse than the pedophiles?? fuktard. Because I don't feel that human life is the most important on this planet?? because I feel that we should be making insect robots instead of making them 'cyborgs'. I'm not on my high horse asswipe and my logic is not backwards, I'm not thinking that , you are as you were the one who said it, idiot. If you really understood what I was saying, then you wouldn't act so infantile as to pretend to know wtF i was talking about

  • @Robertahausen Experimenting on animals is wrong unless there is a dire need for it. Breeding them for other purposes is different but there's no excuse in using an animal for experimenting just to fuck with their nerve cells. I wish you were a bug and I could experiment on you. If you could speak then with a human mouth I'm sure you would have something to say about that. Words don't spell actions moron, action is action. period.

  • @Robertahausen you're confusing the order of importance in this world like an American. Your comment sounded like it spawned from satan's very mouth. "Let's see how their skin burns and put some mine seeking units on their back. That would put a smile on my face." What the actual fuck? How can you honestly stand up to me and say that line of thinking is worse than a pedophile? You'll both burn in the same pit in hell, assuming you even get that privilege.

  • Poor moth

  • @ajman66 me to :'(

  • i love science...but this aint right....

This is what you call MAD science..... (Mad scientists). There are lines you DONT cross...

  • @hatemadness i totally agree

  • @hatemadness buddy, I'm sure we hit those lines years ago, and this is nothing compared to some of the other stuff we've.......done.

  • Wow

  • This video would really piss off vegans! lol

  • @Chad0980 vegans only are against things done to cute fuzzy animals. I respect all animals even the ones on my plate.

  • Harden up people, unless your signing up to have electrodes put into your brain, stop bitching about how its mother nature and cruel.

  • This is fucked up.

  • "We can use it to make a robot move"

    Or control human minds..

  • @mthrnaturesson You are incorrect. The acquisition of knowledge is the most important, most interesting endeavor humans have ever been engaged in.It is usually religious people that call others arrogant.Frankly I dont see it as that big a flaw.I would rather be arrogant than a Luddite.

  • Resistance is Futile

  • Are you stupid? You mean that a couple of moths are more important than the research for future medical applications like bionic arms/eyes? Than bring mutilated people back to a normal life?

    It's so simply to be a bleeding-heart...

  • How do I get it to kill people?

  • We have to be MAD! Its mother nature they destroying.

  • not good, NOT GOOD! do you want the GOVSTO TAKE OVER OUR BRAINZ?!

  • Big brother has a little brother...

  • @Rocksar000 impossible

  • thaś fucking sad man!!!!

    dont do that !!!!!

    poor insects!!!!!

  • Oh, no..

Those stupid bugs always make me anxious when the crash against my window and/or my lamp repeatedly, but I would never torture them like that.

And IMPEDING SCIENCE is really necessary in some cases!

You know what the nazis did to twins, blind people and such? Yeah, you may say preserving integrity doesnt apply to animals. So the nazis said..

  • WE ARE BUGBORG...

  • Am I the only one who laughed when she said "the moth has been BUGGED"?

  • they could fly this and follow us and know our every move, they could even fly it in our houses. this is just wrong.

  • Imagine one day aliens will do the same to humans, cos they might be like insects to them. no cruelty there, since it's only humans...

  • @Zeesarh insects cant even feel pain, they aren't even spatially and self aware.they don't have feelings.

  • Stop bitching you fucking hippies, i am sure this moth would, if it could speak and understand us, say yes. Think about it. What an honor.

  • You guys go kill spiders and ants and w/e other insects everyday just because you want to and nobody gives a shit.

They are using them for an investigation that shall produce valuable results for the future of science, and you guys go mad over it? WTF is wrong with you guys?!

  • STOP SO MEAN ITS LIFE *4 moths commit suicide on my porchlight*

  • stop it thats just crul if u want to do it do it to ur self

  • stop deze hel! Stop thishell! Stoppen Sie diese Hölle! 停止這地獄! Bu cehennem Dur! وقف هذا الجحيم! Arrêtez cet enfer! Zatrzymanie tego piekła! Ustavite ta pekel! এই নরকে থামুন! Σταματήστε αυτή την κόλαση! इस नरक रोको! Aturar aquest infern! :D
  • Science is so much more important the pleas of a bunch of wingeing animal rights twats.

Dont you dare try to impede science.

  • @nsofast

I agree. The research must continue. FOR SCIENCE!

  • @nsofast So now we know that movement can be controlled via electric pulses!

Wait... Didn't we already know that? And to all the animal rights activists, if these suckers were stuck in your room you'd probably kill them, so why all of a sudden care?

  • @bikkelrikel We knew in theory but no one knew just how to go about it.

Now we know one way that works. Knowledge has grown.

  • @bikkelrikel This is demonstrating our control over the pulses and the resulting movement, not the knowledge of the pulses themselves.

  • @bikkelrikel I wouldn't kill them, speak for yourself

  • @nsofast Agreed, all who impede Science will be shot point-blank in the face or will be experimented on.

  • @Thecheif71 the problem with people like you is that you think science can even be impeded upon. human nature.

  • Издеваются над насекомыми!!

  • off course it can be more effective, we are infinite times more advanced then our science and technology

  • great now do it to people

  • so why are they not sending electric signals to a human brains, or cats/dogs/mice? can you say electric shock therapy? i wonder how many of those bugs got fried before they got it right? this is only kinda neat, but it is so wrong! sad even.

  • @dakoffran Go live in a bush then. Because most of the technology you take for granted has been tested by the military first.

I can see this research having many positive medical effects, most obviously for motor neuron diseases like parkinsons and muscular dystrophy two name just two.

Also they do stick electrodes into humans. Many brave or just desperate people have had artificial nerves inserted into legs and other muscles to try and work around paralysis.

  • @Flyberius Sorry, didn't mean to strike a nerve. Im not saying it couldn't have possibly good out-comes, and not like i havent killed a bug or two in my time.... just sad to think of all the animal testing that goes on and to see a video of it....that all

  • @dakoffran This animal testing allows us to gather knowledge that can actually save and improve lives of both humans and animals. With out this type of research millions would die from diseases alone

  • @migueldELLO Not sure how This type of research will help out with any diseases but its still very cool

  • @migueldELLO so what, disease is the natural evolution, it weeds out the weak.

  • Just because we can do it does not make it the right thing to do or the humane... It seems that we have no respect for anything that we can dominate... Science had deemed itself God and everything is okay if done in the name of Science... Whatever comes from this will not be used for good but will be used for military spying purposes.

  • Does it have a remote control? Or bluetooth?

  • Don't say this is animal cruelty since nature has already mind controlling parasites..

  • @popeye2mil But this is insect cruelty. In nature things are done for survival purposes. If someone stabbed you and sent electrical currents through your muscles so you couldn't control yourself, Would you still not see this as cruelty. Nobody's to say wether its right or wrong but it is cruel.

  • @TheBirdymusic dude it was a joke, but isnt this part of the human survival? to evolve via technology?

  • @popeye2mil We shouldn't hurt other earthlings. We all inhabit the same planet.

I have only ONE rule in my life: "don't do to others what you don't like others do to you, without their consense.".

This means that i've no right to do this to you or to an animal.

  • @popeye2mil for example: ppl hates mosquitos but no mosquitos means no chocolate U.U

  • @popeye2mil Or is it a part of moth survival to evolve enough to one day take over the human race?

OH GOD!!! WHAT HAS SCIENCE WROUGHT?!?!?!?!

  • To: Everyone

    From: Me

Sometimes certain creatures must take one for the team in order to further scientific research. So get the fuck over it.

  • @TommyAK13 The problem is that things like this don't just happen "sometimes" they happen everyday. We are killing our planet bit by bit. we are so intrigued by discovery that we are blind to the mass destruction of nature everyday. Eventually we will kill ourselves too.

  • @TheBirdymusic This has nothing to do with the destruction of nature. This is research.

  • yes it is

  • THE END IS NEAR

  • @Longingforboarding

    we know that..

  • so when is skynet taking over already?

  • i would still kill it and flush it down the toilet

  • Zerg begins :o

  • It's only animal cruelty if we forget to turn off the "I can feel cruelty" part of it's brain.

    Not that insects are animals...

  • @JewTubeUsername So... I could turn off the "I can feel cruelty" part of a human's brain and make said human beat off in a subway? YES.

  • @JewTubeUsername Insects are animals. Same kingdom, different phylum.

You just made yourself look incredibly dumb.

  • Borg.

  • Woooow Oo in Russia will soon presidential election. whether the same method to get people to vote for the right candidate?

  • just because it's an insect doesn't mean that it isn't cruel... goddamn scientists, why don't they experiment on the inmates on death row if they want cruelty

  • @Robertahausen wow, you're suggesting doing this to humans but you have a problem with them doing it on insects? WOW, get your priorities straight.

  • @MartyrLoserKing not just any old humans, he said 'inmates on death row'.

y'know, the people who have done evil and cruel things in their life unlike this moth. learn to fucking read.

  • @mmin3s so where do we draw the line? at death row? it's okay to use humans as experiments as long as they have done something wrong? moths have brains like cabbage, humans are much more complex than that.

  • @MartyrLoserKing Sorry for swearing, after seeing your response it was a bit unnecessary... I understand that humans are more complex, but I feel that, by experimenting on animals or even moths, we're abusing the power we have. And yes I believe that an inmate on death row, that has consciously committed an evil act should be punished and this seems beneficial to both science and punishment. I don't condone experimenting on living things at all but on something innocent... just seems wrong. :/

  • Comment removed

  • are you a vegetarian? If not, how do you condone EATING innocent animals, but not experimenting on them. and humans on death row still have human rights. If we were to experiment on our captives we would be no better than Nazi Germany. I'm not arguing with you that this isn't "wrong" but so is cloning sheep and altering the DNA of children in the womb (for shit like eye color/hair color). This technology and science may become something more useful than making toys out of insects.

  • the middleeast had this technology for like 100 years ago and they are still using it

    - suicidebombers

  • MOTH TORTURE

  • And some people asked here what this is good for? First it helps us to better know the functions of a brain (and possibly of OUR brain) because a brain is just a very very complex "circuit", second these "cyborgs" can be used for many things like searching for people after an earthquake (insects could get into places where dogs just cant) there is a resaerch on rats similar to this but they dont give them electroshocks dont worry :)

  • I doubt that moths do feel pain, because an organism only feels pain if it is useful for him (like humans feel pain, because thanks to it they know what things might hurt them (putting your hand on fire is painful = you wont do it) - moths and other flies just fly into lightbulbs and burn because their instinct to fly towards light is stronger than the "pain they feel" - (they would feel if they could feel pain) so speaking about cruelty is BS

  • @DrSpaceork

absolutelly. their "nervous system" is rudimentary, not sophisticated enough to feel such "elaborate" phenomena as pain or pleasure.

once I hit a fly so that his "intestines" splashed out of the rear end. but the insect remained alive, crawling around AND washing his hands intermittently (I'm sure you know what I mean, this hand movement is very human-like). if you feel pain you wouldn't cooly wash your hands. it's just some executive byte code which made a fly to wash hands

  • that crap are perturbing ¿the poor insect are still alive? this can be used in humans or animals '? is twisted menace

  • wtf EPIC

  • THIS R TEH ANIMLZ CRULTY!!!!!11!!!!1!!!!! STOP IT 4 UR L0RD DJEEZUS GAWD CHRIST!!!11!1!!!!!!!!!11!!one!! MTRFKING SIENCE U BURN IN HELL!!!!!!!!11111111

  • @RedLine353 Hurrr durrrr.

  • @RedLine353 If you would actually like for people within the scientific community to respect your opinion, you are going about this in completely the wrong way. For example, and to put it as lightly as possible; I don't give a flying F*$K what you are blithering about. And the 10 people who liked your comment are probably the only ones who do.

  • @Proinventor91 And I thought I made it so very painfully obvious that no possible amount of brain damage could prevent someone from getting it. I guess I was wrong. I wonder how many generations of inbreeding it took to make you that dense and slow.

  • @RedLine353 lol people are bout to create mechanical life and simultaneously kill religion and all u care about is a fuckin beetle >_>
