There's a difference between forcing people to do the right thing and allowing them to do the right thing. Your Americas motives may be just, but there methods are not. I think the best example of this was the "shock and awe" campaign, all you Americans did was blow a lot of stuff up and you all considered it a success because you scared the Taliban back into there holes. The only way to fight terror is to stop terrorizing people.

the American troops on the ground are getting a world class education on building infrastructure, working with communities and their leaders, problem solving, etc. unfortunately some US companies can't understand the benefits that these GI's can offer when they go out in the American work force, its like, "so have you ever had a real job" ignoring the fact that US soldiers have a better education than anyone from Harvard or Yale, they have actual real world experience not just book learning

This is what i've been saying. In iraq and afghanistan, we are fighting and they wonder why things aren't getting better and why we aren't improving there quality of life. Well its because we are being blown up and shot at with ak's and rockets. We cant really rebuild and install water utilities electricity plants or anything if we are being ambushed everytime we go down the road let alone try to stay somewhere outside the wire and setup and build in some random village.
