@albertmetal93 only John Petrucci can plug in an electric guitar and call it unplugged. conversely, only John Petrucci can play an acoustic guitar and call it plugged in.
This is such a great song. I've heard quite a few times from watching 5 Years In a LIVEtime. But then I watched the video again, and this song just ... Spoke To Me, for lack of a better description.
Does anyone know where I can get the studio recording of this song. Is it on any single release?
@dduraeso This wasn't too many years after LaBrie's vocal cords were ruptured. He's said it took him years to recover from that. Also, this kind of "acoustical" set really focuses on the vocal strengths of the band, and all three singers (LaBrie, Portnoy, and Petrucci) have some issues in that area.
@petrucenoy089 amazing how the idiots of the record company of the time thought this song wasn't good enough for an album...just like Cover My Eyes and Raise the Knife....how cool would Falling into Infinity be if these songs were there too? :-)
@phonohead it's a DT original and you can find the studio version of this in a bootleg called Cleaning Out the Closet that has amazing songs never released and 2 different versions of To Live Forever :)
such a good video...wish they would play it live more often

Me gusta mucho la introducción, el riff del bajo, las guitarras, el tono le sienta bien a JL, y no digamos los coros... excelente!!!

I still don't get why this song didn't make the album.
It's my favorite off of the Falling into Infinity Sessions. Good thing it made this DVD though.

Unless I miss my guess, this is _not_ a song originally composed by Dream Theater, or?

Yep. It is a b-side from "Falling into Infinity" :)

It is composed by them.

@phonohead Yup, this is a Dream Theater tune. It was made during a very climatic stage in their career, Falling Into Infinity.
