  • Why the main part of the movie shows 10 times pcb going throug the laminator and we can't see the final effect?

  • @Szymonrc The final effect was awful :) The paper selection was wrong and also, the paper MUST be a lot narrower (like 20-30%) than the maxium width to get even pressure. This movie is just to show that this device can pass 1.5mm board with photopaper attached.

  • You would be better off to get and old scrap laser printer. Take out the fuser, The old ones are sprung so that they will take 1.6mm boards easily whilst laminators usually jam. A huge advantage. They usually have a 120V ac heater that can be run at about 90V to give a good steady temperature. Drive the gear with a motor. Bobs your uncle.

  • i also have a laminator. After the 2nd pass, i cannot touch the pcb. It is veeeeery hot. How can you touch the pcb ??

  • It is not THAT hot that you cannot touch it by edges for at the edges for a second or two. Maybe your hand are too sensitive?

  • There used to be old man in our industry. He was a peon and used to give us tea. I had seen him picking up the hot kettle from stove by bare hand and putting into the cups. I tried, but it felt pain to do so. After some time. I was able to do also, just for fun.

  • Hm... i havent used that techick for a log time, because i use photo board (uv exposure). My laminator is a Fellowes A4 saturn up to 125 microns. I dont know what temperatures it works!

  • can you show us the result? here is not shown so i am interested what will be result. thanks!

  • I am pretty busy last month doing construction in my new apt, so, no photo of the result. However, i have done numerous PCBs with thos laminator since i got it using usual Coated paper (with calcium carbonate - most usual). Have done 0.2mm tracks and gaps without any probelm. Smaller tracks and gaps need a better kind of paper. Also tried blue press-n-peel. It is nice but IMHO not woth it.

  • where did you get the lam.

  • Well, i got it here in Russia, Moscow :)

In the USA it is known as Tamerica LP-120

Google for "LP-120 laminator" and you'll find it.

  • A good idea but can you tell us what paper do you use and tell me please have you tryed press-and-peel paper as well ?

  • The paper is Paper Lomond 120g/m2, glossy, with improved coating, #0102053.

I have not tested the press-n-peel, but i don't believe it can produce 0.1mm tracks with 0.2mm gaps. And it is pretty expensive. I want to test Pulsar Pro FX technology.

I have added my site url to the descriotion. Visit it for the complete review and test data on this laminator. I will post it within an hour or two.
