You have to know that near to all turks are angry if you call Istanbul still as Constantinople, because they think you have the mind to can get it back if you use still this name. Near to all turks are against this mind and think that this ancient name presents this mind.

I personally think it is ok if you say Constantinople to Istanbul, because we also still say Selanik to Thessaloniki, Gümülcine to Komothini and Iskece to Xanthi.

as a turk from istanbul, I agree with 1992rmaw. human kind has a common weakness in itself that it has been carrying through generations. That is a senseless need for discrimination. I call it weakness for from the world peace point of view, it is a clear hinderance, but on the other hand one of the clear competitive strengths, that enabled today's humanity pass through the natural selection filter.
