At least they played real guitars instead of Guitar Hero when they were growing up! These bands nowdays would not know what to do with real musical instruments.
i can't believe i keep finding all these great old bands on youtube that i haven't even heard of, why do they keep playing the same crap music on the radio when there is so much great music to be heard, new and old.
I realize old people feel sentimental about this band, but that lead singer is the most unfortunate looking man I have ever seen. He literally looks like a cross between Bob Ross and a sweaty testicle.
Wayne Kramer is one of the most amazing,underrated guitarists ever!!! I'm suprised the fretboard didn't catch fire during this performance! Fucking dynamite!!!
Freakin Awesome. I used to see the MC5 in Detroit like at the Olympia stadium for the "Kick out the Jams" Festival I think it was in 1969. Greatest concert ever.
What kind of guitar is Wayne Kramer playing here? I know they used to play Mosrites, but this doesn't look like anything I recognize

@fighttheracists Actually, I think there was one written in the later part of 1871, titled "Chicago is Burning Down" by an at that time up and coming songwriter by the name of Patrick O'Leary. Apparently the idea came to him after one of their lifestock, (a cow) inadvertently toppled a lantern in the barn. :p
All modern Punk Rock & Hardcore bands owe so much to this generation of outlaw and outcast musicians, because without bands like MC5 who paved the way they would not exist, PERIOD.

At this time Rob Tyner was heavy into coke other drugs and shortly after that they disintegrated as a band. But what a great short history for a group & they influenced many bands!!

@shaswords you can lead a horse to the water but you can't make him drink. I can think of heaps of great things i was told at school but i could never except them because i needed to figure shit out for myself. If i wan't become better at english, i'll read more, don't tell me all rules and expect me to remember them. The kids would hear a key and that it's bluesy and say "thats old peoples music, fuck off!" only creating fear of being singled out for liking it.
