hey guys i need some help on something. Ive only been playing for 1 year and I'm not really sure on what i should get as my next guitar so I'm looking for advice
@ilovemagic01 it's only a pain in the ass if you want to drop tune, if your going to stay in a set tuning then it's fine, and you only have to tune it every couple of days
@ilovemagic01 just wanted to say fuck both those guitars. choosing a guitar is all personal preference. and who ever it is you're telling not to get a Trem bridge for a floyd rose as most people call it. if you're gonna get a guitar with Floydrose ask if you can get a lesson on how to change ur strings urself and never forget how to do that. paying extra to get strings changed for you everytime they break is costly and it discourages most. play what you want dont listen to other people.
@mikizzle16 chill out men, i have a floyd rose or should i say edge pro trem, though tuning is a pain when you change your string..but its all worth it :)... great sound from mine anyway
you dont need to have the foot control. we just recorded my friends band with this to see what it would sound like you just need if if youre doing a constant recording and change constantly
Two questions . What are the best speakers to plug into your sound card to get the best sound using guitar rig. Also I have big jack input in my sound card so how do I plug in 5.1 speakers ???
Hey man. I did answer you not to make fun or anything. It really was to help out. Sorry if you thought other wise. Maybe I didn´t got your question? Sorry if that was the case. And yhea, I saw nobody answered and that was also why I tried to help.
Well I said that my line out was single big jack input ( standard one like we have on guitar and amps ) so how would I connect 5.1 speaker cables cause there are five of them and they are small jack inputs (just like on ear phones) into my LINE OUT ON THE SOUNDCARD ??? :D
If I got it right, you have the 6.35 tsr (stereo) jack on your sound board? if so get an adapter 6.35mm to 3.5mm trs jack (I believe the conector that comes with your speakers) and you´re ready to rock. just trying to help;)
Yeah , thx . I have the adapter ( well its not the adapter but it does the service ) I even brought another one that allows me to put two 3.5mm jacks into one ... I guess that i shoul buy 6 of them so I put one and then in that one put 2 and in that 2 put 3 then i got 6 jack inputs . Hahahahahhaa . Thx anyway man !
That is one solution. Indeed i did not realise the 5.1 had all tha cables. I have a 2.1 system and it only has got one:). Diferent things. I do believe you idea is the way to go. There might be adapters with more "outline" outtakes but I´m not shure though. Maybe th 5.1 you are using is suitable for home audio systems with a back panel full off 3.5" outs:) Don´t know.
I do know there are many 5.1 configurations where all the signal path are routed into "one" main cable to the out plug on sound cards or stereo outputs. Maybe someone with more experience might help.
Hm didnt know that . I will keep that in mind though 2.1 solution might be just as great ..... Well thanks man , not many as you out there . See you ...
There should be more like me out there. Let´s see, what´s the point in creating web based platforms where people can exchange thoughts, ideas and knowledge, if noone participates;).
Relating the speakers, yhea, mine are 2.1 and only have a 3.5mm cable. And I´ve seen 5.1 on stores with all the signals combined in just this cable. As i said, yours must be more to the home audio entertainment systems. Look
I haven´t tried any software on the pc and with my speakers. Only Revalver, and with an old set of 2.0 one´s I have here. I got noise, noise!!:) I´ll have to see the onboard setings of my sound, but I am beating the onboard sucks for what i´m trying to achieve:).
But as you see there are many people who are kind of experimenting things with the six strings on the pc, so it is always great to exchange ideas. Count me in, anytime:)
Yeah , actually I was having problems with asio drivers in guitar rig 3 and my terratec phase x24 sound card so I had to play with directsound drivers . That way i was able to set my laptop speakers to produce sound and i was happy with that . When i figured out problem with ASIO i had no option of laptop speakers as output on routing in guitar rig so I have to buy good speakers / amp cabinet / monitors etc to plug them in my soundcard output ...
I do believe the 5.1 were good options, if with quality of course. Most of modern medium range speakers do the job just for practicing issues. If you want more, monitors are definetly the way to go.
Yesterday I told you about the noise problem with my onboard sound in Revalver. I went to get my Sound blaster live.5.1, conected it to my 2.0 speakers (which shuck:)) and the noise was almost gone.
Yeah thats the usual progress . I first got the guitar rig . I had only integrated sound card thats crap and i had to plug my guitar in line in on laptop . Sound was awful. So much noice etc . Then i brought professional cable for guitar . That helped a bit with noise .
Next step was to buy great sound card . I spend so much on those that i could buy original rig kontrol :D . Now i think that i should buy good monitors ... or maybe good 2.1 (cheaper option :D).... Man try GR ... And tell me how Revalver sounded with your 2.1 !
The rig control is awesome. One thing at a time:).
I just experimented my 2.1. Have in mind that my sound card is a sound blaster live 5.1 (a rather old one now), but, despitte still producing noise, isn´t bad for practicing or even recording ideas. The 2.1 speakers are definely better than my other 2.0.
You feel like playing a real amp, specially if you cranck the volume knob up:) But if you want quality, go for monitors;) That is what I´m going to do. The 2.1 I have are the Creative I Triggue 3220, just so you have an idea. Good, but monitors must be something else:). That´s what I´ll do.
hahah hello dudo,it is a hell when I'm using Creative SoundBlaster(audigy 2040) ,solos are with off sound doesn't have effect(you can check it in my profile)it was my maximium effort,im using a ibanez rg370dx,the sound is very off,I guess I have to buy an external sound card thats better, right?anyways im using a old computer (ibm 2002 netvista)
Your my neigbor then;). maybe the lag is about your computer. Are you using the Asio drivers? Are you using Revalver from Alien Conections? You must have that into account. I do believe the audigy is better then mine(more recent) it should give you low latency. Mine does and I believe it´s older:)
But no doubt the M audio, Emu, Terratec are more to the prefessional aduio editing and recording.
I use Asio Driver,Revalver I have never used it (does its better?) ,my pc at 1.8 ghz and 1gb ram thats all, I play in live ableton thats ok..for recording, the sound is dead,i can u record a track for you,you will die after all if you listen it
I do believe you are mistaken the Asio drivers, which serve to optimize the audio on certain audio aplications and Revalver (a modulation software like guitar rig and others:) )
My pc as 2.4ghz cpu clock and 512 mb of ram, so your pc shoudn´t be an issue. Relating the gear if you wnat to record stuff just for listening and work on songs, the sound card and the guitar straight in, do the job. If you want a more professional sound, go for the DI/direct interface between the guitar and the sound card (toneport, a pre amp, even a multifx floor unit does the job;).
Relating the sound, yhea, I know, straight in, the noise is always there:)
Im going for M-Audio Delta 1010LT I hateusing this crappy sound I know ibanez is a good broad of guitar because I need record guitar tracks...I will study music academy I don't like spend around 2000 USD in Mesa Boogie or Marshal amplifiers and gibson guitar(very popular but I don't like it( thanks for help about monitors I knew them !

@digfelipe to play live, you could effectively use simply a laptop, the rig control.... just plug it into a DI box, into mixer/snake, then play
you could even run your 2 outputs on Kontrol (1 = DI Box to mixer, 2 = to poweramp for on stage sound)

Is there a program out there where you can just plug your guitar in and play without any foot controls or anything?
metalmaniac2493 2 years ago
Yes, guitar rig.
skruvmaejsel 2 years ago
How?
metalmaniac2493 2 years ago
you dont need to have the foot control. we just recorded my friends band with this to see what it would sound like you just need if if youre doing a constant recording and change constantly

Two questions . What are the best speakers to plug into your sound card to get the best sound using guitar rig. Also I have big jack input in my sound card so how do I plug in 5.1 speakers ???
hldemi 2 years ago
On the line out on the soundcard :)
Tuscopa 2 years ago
Very funny ..... But at least I got some response ....
hldemi 2 years ago
Hey man. I did answer you not to make fun or anything. It really was to help out. Sorry if you thought other wise. Maybe I didn´t got your question? Sorry if that was the case. And yhea, I saw nobody answered and that was also why I tried to help.
Tuscopa 2 years ago
Well I said that my line out was single big jack input ( standard one like we have on guitar and amps ) so how would I connect 5.1 speaker cables cause there are five of them and they are small jack inputs (just like on ear phones) into my LINE OUT ON THE SOUNDCARD ??? :D
Thats my question :D
hldemi 2 years ago
If I got it right, you have the 6.35 tsr (stereo) jack on your sound board? if so get an adapter 6.35mm to 3.5mm trs jack (I believe the conector that comes with your speakers) and you´re ready to rock. just trying to help;)
Tuscopa 2 years ago
Yeah , thx . I have the adapter ( well its not the adapter but it does the service ) I even brought another one that allows me to put two 3.5mm jacks into one ... I guess that i shoul buy 6 of them so I put one and then in that one put 2 and in that 2 put 3 then i got 6 jack inputs . Hahahahahhaa . Thx anyway man !
hldemi 2 years ago
That is one solution. Indeed i did not realise the 5.1 had all tha cables. I have a 2.1 system and it only has got one:). Diferent things. I do believe you idea is the way to go. There might be adapters with more "outline" outtakes but I´m not shure though. Maybe th 5.1 you are using is suitable for home audio systems with a back panel full off 3.5" outs:) Don´t know.
Tuscopa 2 years ago
I do know there are many 5.1 configurations where all the signal path are routed into "one" main cable to the out plug on sound cards or stereo outputs. Maybe someone with more experience might help.
See you around.
Tuscopa 2 years ago
Hm didnt know that . I will keep that in mind though 2.1 solution might be just as great ..... Well thanks man , not many as you out there . See you ...
hldemi 2 years ago
There should be more like me out there. Let´s see, what´s the point in creating web based platforms where people can exchange thoughts, ideas and knowledge, if noone participates;).
Relating the speakers, yhea, mine are 2.1 and only have a 3.5mm cable. And I´ve seen 5.1 on stores with all the signals combined in just this cable. As i said, yours must be more to the home audio entertainment systems. Look
Tuscopa 2 years ago
for adapters, maybe you´ll find any.

When i figured out problem with ASIO i had no option of laptop speakers as output on routing in guitar rig so I have to buy good speakers / amp cabinet / monitors etc to plug them in my soundcard output ...
hldemi 2 years ago
I do believe the 5.1 were good options, if with quality of course. Most of modern medium range speakers do the job just for practicing issues. If you want more, monitors are definetly the way to go.
Yesterday I told you about the noise problem with my onboard sound in Revalver. I went to get my Sound blaster live.5.1, conected it to my 2.0 speakers (which shuck:)) and the noise was almost gone.
Tuscopa 2 years ago
The output power is nothing out of this world, but you can ear yourself play this way. And with the Asio drivers, the latency is almost noone:).
I´m going to get the 2.1 I have whenever I have the time to see how they work. I´ll tell you something after I´ve done so, if you are interested.
The Revalver from Alien Connection is great:) I still can´t save patches to the HD but, I´ll try again later. Have to try GR and Amplitube also.
Having fun though;)
See you around.
Tuscopa 2 years ago
Yeah thats the usual progress . I first got the guitar rig . I had only integrated sound card thats crap and i had to plug my guitar in line in on laptop . Sound was awful. So much noice etc . Then i brought professional cable for guitar . That helped a bit with noise .
hldemi 2 years ago
Next step was to buy great sound card . I spend so much on those that i could buy original rig kontrol :D . Now i think that i should buy good monitors ... or maybe good 2.1 (cheaper option :D).... Man try GR ... And tell me how Revalver sounded with your 2.1 !
hldemi 2 years ago
The rig control is awesome. One thing at a time:).
I just experimented my 2.1. Have in mind that my sound card is a sound blaster live 5.1 (a rather old one now), but, despitte still producing noise, isn´t bad for practicing or even recording ideas. The 2.1 speakers are definely better than my other 2.0.
Tuscopa 2 years ago
You feel like playing a real amp, specially if you cranck the volume knob up:) But if you want quality, go for monitors;) That is what I´m going to do. The 2.1 I have are the Creative I Triggue 3220, just so you have an idea. Good, but monitors must be something else:). That´s what I´ll do.
Tuscopa 2 years ago
hahah hello dudo,it is a hell when I'm using Creative SoundBlaster(audigy 2040) ,solos are with off sound doesn't have effect(you can check it in my profile)it was my maximium effort,im using a ibanez rg370dx,the sound is very off,I guess I have to buy an external sound card thats better, right?anyways im using a old computer (ibm 2002 netvista)
AlexmeisterM 2 years ago
Your my neigbor then;). maybe the lag is about your computer. Are you using the Asio drivers? Are you using Revalver from Alien Conections? You must have that into account. I do believe the audigy is better then mine(more recent) it should give you low latency. Mine does and I believe it´s older:)
But no doubt the M audio, Emu, Terratec are more to the prefessional aduio editing and recording.
Tuscopa 2 years ago
I use Asio Driver,Revalver I have never used it (does its better?) ,my pc at 1.8 ghz and 1gb ram thats all, I play in live ableton thats ok..for recording, the sound is dead,i can u record a track for you,you will die after all if you listen it
AlexmeisterM 2 years ago
I do believe you are mistaken the Asio drivers, which serve to optimize the audio on certain audio aplications and Revalver (a modulation software like guitar rig and others:) )
Tuscopa 2 years ago

Ok. You´re welcome. Good gear you have and will have :)
