That's not the MC-808 but the MC-909; which is the predecessor of the MC-808. Great machine, has some extra functions but yet also it's limitations.

The MC-808 can do almost anything the MC-909 can do; only the MC-808 has a smaller display, automated faders, sample chopping and support for larger memory.

To my knowledge Vanderson has both machines .. maybe he'll be a better opinion to explain when to use the latter since I've got only the 808 ;)
