I hope Cliffs of Dover will be better one like Wings of Prey (with good grafic only)!. But i'm afraid ... not (except better physics of flight and graphic). I wish i'll not right!. Virtual pilots needed and wanted better edition of IL-2. Not next arcade game!.

@robin00795 U right. I will have that one on monday or tuesday :). But I was heared similar opinions. Before premiere were first patch (500 MB). It correct problems with texture (to heavy for many CPU and GPU) and some other!. I suppose, minimum some 5 to 10 next patchs end it will be most excellent and almost ideal simulator on this world. For now we must be hapy from that one and wait for next correction from Oleg (and peace on the real world!). :)

Looking at the trailer, I'm quite disappointed. I've always wanted a top notch realistic simulation game with a top notch graphics. I trust that 1C did a good job with the simulation, but the graphics just don't look right.

Why can't they combine a Wings-of-Prey-like graphics with the awesome flight dynamics??!?! Why do the arcade style flight simulators always look better??? I just don't get it!!?!

Anybody feel the same?

@IIJG27Rich well i think just doesn't feel real, unlike the arcade games like HAWX and WOP, they have a real world feeling in them, which IL-2 series graphic always lacks no matter how high the setting is. Simply put, I think this game still LOOKS like a computer game, whereas the 2 arcade style games LOOK like actual simulators. (only looks, not handling)

i'm hoping for the best. Also I hope the engine sound is not like the lawn mower-like noise in original il-2 series.

a rank system in multiplayer with statitistics where u can deserve medals and awards for your kills would make this game more realistic and u have more fun i the multiplayer part. The grafic looks awesome. Indeed it willl be the best part of il2. thats the result of long hard work and the reward for this long time waiting ... GJ

I did last night and I deleted in half an hour and kicked myself in the butt for spending the 24 bucks on it. If you are into the reality of IL-2 you won't like WOP. WOP can't compete with good old IL-2 trust me.

Yea, before I played only arcade games such as blazing angels, but after trying IL2, I just don't want to hear about arcade games. I have tried the WOP demo, and I didn't really like the physics. So, yep, looking forward to Storm of War !

Me too. I wish I could freeze myself till October and just wake up and go buy it at the EB. This waiting is going to be a killer just like with IL-2 in 2001. Ok I have to back pedal here for a minute back to Wings Of Prey. I came down on it too harshly. Wings Of Prey I can see now is aimed at a completely different sector from the hardcore historical combat sim fliers that you get in IL-2. It's more for people who want to sit and have fun and have a chance to get right into action immediately without having to figure out what's what with all of this area of maps upon maps and missions upon missions

It definitely is not on par with Il-2 but a lot of the players like me are pushing the devs to make it more realistic and they seem to be working on it.Are there any videos of Storm of War?If it looks so good in pics it should look fantastic in-game

Also I've heard of the modders wanting to get to work on WOP witch I think is great. All of them have done such a fantastic job. For the true mod servers like Spits VS 109s Mods there could be nothing better to keep IL-2 alive and interesting. There is only one probably. Unification and easy installation for noobs. One person is flying one version you can't switch to another is flying another. The one and only thing I see a problem with.

Yes. One of the modelers said that was a coming home from a mission and hopping out of the Spitfire action. He said the bail out action looked even more fantastic. I can just see him tumbling threw the air as I go by in my Emil. :)
