Not true, first time doyle pushed on the flop which was A-J-10, Alto called him with A-J and Doyle sucked out with runner runner. Next year they got it all in on the turn, that time Doyle was ahead with two pair 10-2 against lesser two pair 8-5, he made a full house again on the river though.

i'm amazed at how bad can somebody play and win, makes you wonder really. Last year main event was pretty much the same, all in with the worse hand knowing you're gonna get called and then a biblical suckout. It's one thing to be lucky, because if the guy just calls and then he pushes all in after the flop, the good player would have folded AK for sure. But no, it's lucky enough to get a good player to make a good read for all his chips and then he is lucky enough to hit 4 perfect cards.

Obviously Hinkle got outrageously lucky all through the final table--just look at the hands he played, and then made straights, full houses, etc with. At no point during the final table did he show us that he's a great player. He might be, of course, but he also made several pretty bad plays, and then sucked out. Oh well--go USA, I guess.

I heard Hinkle was getting his ass busted by Akenhead, who was stealing pots and playing aggressively. Hinkle talked to his brother who told him that he has to take a stand. Yeah, it was a donk play because it was the wrong time to try and make someone fold. Heads up, AK is a monster, but it's also true that it's a 60/40 favorite. Hinkle should've gotten the message when this guy committed so much of his stack though, which is why Hinkle sucks. Personally I'd be embarrassed to win with that.

Akenhead was pushing every hand....heads up strategy is different than a full table. Before the flop, Hinkle still wasnt much of a dog....40% chance to win. He probably figured Akenhead was pushing with mediocre, and it was going to be a race. Which is was no matter what.

Listen, I've done hundreds of heads-up matches. He had 4 10 suited. What he was trying to do was push him off of his hand. 4 10 suited is not an all in hand. Hinkle just didn't have any read what-so-ever. You saw what happened with the Q 8 vs J 8. He just played poorly overall. Against an overly aggressive player, you should pick your spots carefully and try to play cheaper pots, rather than picking some random suited hand. Hinkle didn't deserve the bracelet. 3 5, 4 Ace, 4 9, all this crap hit?

You know the difference between Hinkle and someone who's good? Someone who's good doesn't get caught all with 10 high. If Akenhead was being really aggressive and getting away with it to end up as the all in favorite, it means he played well. They practically had even stacks and Hinkle should have either seen a flop for relatively cheap or gotten away from it preflop. "pushing once again, and called." No, he pushed because he thought he could push him off his hand. End of story.

The play that Hinkle made is called a resteal. It doesnt matter what you hold, you make the play b/c you believe you can knock the player off his hand. It happens all the time, and its a great play when it works. And when it doesnt, chances are you have 2 live cards. Akenhead was only a 60/40 fav to win, it wasnt bad beat at all.
