I don't think Aliens have cocoons or second eggs. I think they just molt like most insects and reptiles do. Because in Alien, Brett found the skin of the Chestburster before the grown adult came down and killed him.

That's really not how it works. It doesn't make a second egg, it just grows the exoskeleton under that thin skin. The larva then sheds the skin (like found in the original movie by the guy with the cap).

What comes out of the larva's skin is just a smaller version of the Xenomorph with the large head attached to the back. Eventually it grows into an adult at an accelerated rate.

This life cycle is BAD... Alien first was get bigger and later he was change colour on black....Later Drone was changed into the Warrior -> Quardian od the Hive -> Praetorian -> Queen , but you have to see models not create this what you will dream.

Lolwtf? no. The human has a few hours before the alien hatches, he doesnt just wake up from the facehugger attack then die immediatly. and, the larvae doesnt make an egg-shaped cocoon. The larvae hatches with small arms, and sheds several times untill it is a fully grown predator.

@Sterling921 yesh but we're going by the Film's Mythology and Life cycle and not of the Video games [video games tend to change things to make it easier to either animate or cause they want to take the Xenomorphs in another direction, they changed it for the game so they didn't have to show the growth spurt of the Xenomorph as an animation cause it would have been too difficult to do.
