  • @ZachAndFriends1996.

    I haven't had a chance to play with the 558 series. :(

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • I love your voice!!! I watched this video twice just to hear it!!!!!!!!!!: ) (no homo)

  • whats better sennheisser pxc 450 or bose qc15

  • Hey any other headphones recommended for 200-250. ??? Idk if i should buy these.

  • Sound objective presentation by someone with professional speaking skills.

  • @DanOrtego,

    Thanks Dan. :)

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • I got the PXC-450 new authorized dealer for 180

  • jesus?

  • @arenms,

    No... my name is 'Robert'

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • @gadgettts hey robert what would you recommend to me

    Bose or Sennheisser? :)

  • @arenms,

It really depends on what models you're comparing.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • Blackbox noise cancelling headphones (pxc 350) claim they can cancel up to 92% according to the deteails i have been provided. These headphones go for 200$ =o

  • A review of a product should show the actual performance of the product and provide comparison to adequate alternatives. By saying "we have no objective way to test that claim" you show your incompetence. "I am not really sure what all of that means but I am sure it has something to do with Sennheiser's legacy of no-compromise audio quality" - was that supposed to be a serious objective statement? Sennheiser makes plenty of compromises based on price level as all makers do. Otherwise enjoyable.

  • @jednoucelovy,

Saying, "we have no objective way to test that claim" was a way to explain that though I enjoyed using the headphones and they performed as advertised, I have neither the expertise nor the equipment to do any sort of objective performance evaluation based on db gain/loss or SNR.

We are a tech-enthusiast IPTV show. We are not consumer reports nor are we a marketing arm. Rather, 'gadget' is a way to share MY experiences of the gear that comes through the lab.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • @gadgettts, OK I see, I obviously misunderstood the concept of this video.

  • @jednoucelovy,

    No problem... thanks for watching!

    .

  • i have hd 380 pro

  • recommend me songs to listen..

  • I also want to say, that the cans on these are fairly large. On my head, the bottom of the cans rest at my jaw line. This lets a little air in, making a not very tight fit. If only these were a little bit smaller and had a tighter fit, they would be even better at passive noise reduction.

  • @whiteqtipful Thankfully I don't have that problem. I have such a fat head that the cans fit perfectly. :)

Seriously though... thanks for letting us know that piece of information. It's a good thing to hear from all interested geeks.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • Hey, thx for a great review.

I wonder if you could fire up a review on sennheiser pxc 310, im standing between these 2 headsets and im really unsure what the best choice for me is.

  • hardy1,

I'll try... but Sennheiser hasn't been returning our calls! :(

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • doess it leak sound?

  • mjsr4,

Honestly I can't remember. I sent back the review product over a year ago. I WILL say that I was sad to see them go because they were the best headphones I've had in years.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • I have these headphones(PXC-350). I use them in a noisy computer server lab. They work pretty good at cancelling air conditioning noise and server fan noise. I don't know if they leak sound, since it is noisy in the lab. Although you can use these when turned off, the sound doesn't seem as good to me. When you turn on noise cancelling, the overall sound seems much better. I am using these with a Zune HD. The overall sound is rather easy to listen to, and seems neutral.

  • Hi, thanks for the review, very interesting; you "made me buy them" :0). It is just a pity that you make such strong and clear affiliations to religion! Anyway, keep up the great work.

  • zctpnd01,

Thanks for watching and commenting. I truly appreciate every person who takes the time to watch what we've cooked up! :)

    .

As for my religion... I never apologize for my faith and I am proud to be a Catholic, a Priest and an uberGeek. However, I understand and respect the decisions of those who decide it's not for them.

    .

Let me know what kind of tech you want to see in future episodes and I'll see if we can get it.

  • Great review! Very informative. Now it's priced round 130 pound on amazon uk. Thanks a lot for your video!

  • People in UK can buy these from Play.com for around £89.00 bargain deal.

  • pxc450 or qc15?

  • Thank you for the review. I just purchased a pair of these a few days ago and will be coming in next week. Before i bought these i tried on a pair of Bose silent comfort 2/3 not sure which one (300$) and they sounded ok. I didn't give them a fair shot so i cant be the judge but my first impression is they were to focused on the upper mid to high range. The bass was well defined but lacked proper extension. So, i went with the pxc350's and i hope they live up to the amazing reviews. Thanks again!

  • An eloquent review, I'd say.

I recently tasted with my ears the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones at bestbuy. They were 300 bucks there so I tried to find an alternative to ANC headphones with superior sound like the ones I heard with the Beats unit. Can I ask if these PXC350's will produce a similar or better sound than the Beats? The bass was just amazing, and the sound was so crisp on the Beats set. I just want to know what you think if you compare the two.

  • lol beats by dr dre are a gimmick. Inform yourself, every record artist, dj, singer will tell you that.

  • Good review as always keep up the good work.

YouTube is too full of unboxings and reviews that give innacurate information to the average Joe. Your reviews are clear and to the point, very good.

  • KlipschEAR,

Wow... now that's just nice to hear! Many thanks and I hope your holidays are wonderful.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • I'm due for a new headphone and I'm looking at the PXC-450, any chance you could review that also.

I'm finally thinking of upgrading from my lovely sounding old worn-out, broken-but-cellotaped HD 280 Pro :) lol

  • Oh, so the PXC-450 is basically the same with additional features....got it, thanks for the review.

  • If youre looking for something cheaper the HD-380 pro, are identical, except they lack the noise cancellation circuitry, and are much much cheaper.

I reckon they have the exact same sound.

  • is this the only headphone you have reviewed??? i'd love to see lots and lots more headphone reviews... cheaper ones... on-ear, in- ear, around ear, neckband.... ALLL...

  • Hey thanks a lot, I am going to get them. I am now an alum of Jesuit High School in Portland Oregon and what a suprise when I saw a Jesuit is showing off the headphones I have been looking at for a while.

  • hi, i'm currently using the bose in-ear headphones, would you say these headphones have better sound quality than the boses?

And also, i'm still in college, is the passive noise cancelling enough to cancel out the music base from my neighbors? :)

    Thanks man, GREAT review.

  • superharold100,

It's difficult to compare in-ear headphones with an around-the-ear set, but I do believe that the Sennheiser PXC-350 has superior bass reproduction.

As for "noise-canceling" your neighbor, unfortunately that annoying, thumping bass is almost impossible to get rid of because it is "felt" as much as it is heard!

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • thx robert ;)

i think i'ma gonna buy them.

    grtz from Bruges, Belgium!

  • wow what a great review!! thanks man

  • cool, sounded like a professional review all the way lol.

  • MrUnfotunate0,

DOH... don't say that! We're trying to avoid professionalism!

Seriously though... thanks for watching and for subbing. It's much appreciated.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • how powerful is the bass on these headphones exactly?

  • MrUnfortunate0,

Unfortunately it's been quite a while since I had these headphones in the lab. (I tried to keep 'em, but Sennheiser REALLY wanted them back!) I can't give you any sort of meaningful data other than what is in the review.

However, I will say that these were some of the best sounding headphones that I have ever used, and I've gone through some of the best from Sony, AGK, Bose and JVC.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • sweet, alright thanks man

  • 6 seconds about religion is a lifetime to me.

Thanks for the review by the way it was actually very helpful.

  • meadowswirl,

Sorry you feel that way. Thanks for watching.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • whats with all the religion in this review? anti-science and science don't mix.

  • meadowsirl,

    Wow... judgmental much?

A few things about your comment... First, I mention that I am a priest and that my religious order is the largest in the Catholic Church... by my count that's about 6 seconds of a 10 minute episode.

Second, if you research the Jesuits you'll find that we've been involved in the sciences for the last 400 years. We've craters on the moon named after us. We're responsible for much of human understanding of weather systems on the planet. The list goes on.

  • can you comment on the level of leakage on these headphones at high volumes?

    id really like to know.

  • did u say hawaii?? Auuuright

  • the best buy where i live don't even let you freaking try on any high-end headphones to let you try it b4 spending big bucks on them

  • Very good review, useful information. The video editing was effective, nothing too tricky, but it all worked effectively. Articulate speaking is a nice bonus too, especially when compared to your average youtube video.

  • great review dude. subscribed. looking forward to more reviews. most youtube vids take atleast 2min to get the headphones out of the box! haha

  • 2:00 if you want to skip the really long intro

  • Incredible review. Subscribed.

    Look forward to more reviews.

  • I'm an atheist, too bad your not :'(

  • Thanks for letting us know that.

  • haha. this atheism stuff on msn is getting a bit much..

  • Askassar,

    Thanks for the comment!

    .

    Fr. Robert

  • Suscribed (;

    Thanks for this videos man

  • criziaking,

Thanks for the sub! I truly appreciate the support.

  • Thanks for this review! Very informative. Most videos on youtube would only show unboxing which is rather useless.

  • Thanks for the comment! You support is very much appreciated.

  • Hey do you happen to know Fr. Benedicto Marino?

    :D

  • Hmmmm.... I don't think so.

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • how would you compare the sound quality of the pxc 350's to the bose qc2's? also, if youve tried them, how do they compare to the Beats by Dr Dre

  • I have a pair of these- love the sound quality but most of the time I'm getting a buzzing sound with NC on connected to my Ipod. When I touch the metal backing of the ipod, it clicks and the noise goes away. But when I put the ipod in my pocket or on the table it starts again. Any suggestions?

  • the have better noise-cancelling than sennheiser hd 202 ??

  • daun,

I've never tested the HD 202... but I'll see if they'll let me do a heads-up

  • ok but i have this and they have a mic

  • MunkN,

The PCX-350 does not have an integrated microphone. It has a noise-cancelling system that uses small microphones but it is not a traditional microphone/speaker headset.

  • were is the mic?

  • MunkN,

    There is no mic.

  • You forgot to mention an important detail - noise-canceling also helps keeping the volume down to normal levels, cause otherwise you would have to put up the volume to compete with outside noise.

I other words - it spares your ears.

  • Nice review.

I'm an atheist. I have to mention that.

  • Cygnus65,

Thanks for the compliment! -- And thanks for mentioning that you're an atheist. I appreciate people who are upfront about the important things in their life. Peace, Fr. Robert

  • nice video but easy it down on jesus freakish intro.

  • maxsaint,

Thanks for the comment and for watching! Two of my sponsors ARE Catholic institutions, so I have to mention them by name (University Catholic Center and the California Province Society of Jesus) and I AM a Jesuit priest. -- So I really don't think it's too Jesus freakish.

I NEVER try to force my views during the show, but I can't step down from who I am. -- I really do appreciate your comment, but I just don't see how we could do it differently. Peace, Fr. Robert

  • Once again very good video, i jus purchesed the pxc 300 and there amazing so if you really do want hi-end quality sennheiser is the way foward, these look even better nice review guys thanks

  • Ow! I did forget! Only down side off the high end Sennheisers gear is that will heat up your ears.

It's not much-but if u are playing wow for 15h/day...

  • Like allways good review - i use Sennheiser myself (HD555) and they are amazing!

Sennheiser IS THE BEST BUYED THINK THAT I GET THIS YEAR*! So if anyone have problem to beside- go get it, no mether how much of $

(and i did get stuff like X-Fi sound card, notebook, GeForce8800 512Mb, new server, Logitech g51 speakers, some new usb gadgets...)

  • gd review.....why don't you Benchmark GFX cards tho, it baffles the mind, i also find it insane that u science makes this technology possible, but u believe that a man could turn water into wine lol and a snake could actually talk not to mention a virgin birth! i mean "cummmonnnnn" jsut reply to tech bit lol

  • Man. Those headphones are as much as the limited edition Bose noise canceling head sets that came out a few years back. This would be great for me, I think. I have very sensitive ears. So sensitive in fact, I care hear a TV on even if it's muted. I've even stopped going to church before the Youth paster thinks all teens love loud music and won't change for one person. The looks awesome, but that price is a slap in the face.

  • I have 2 pair of Sennheiser hd280 that I use for monitoring and mixing (I am an audio engineer). They are absolutely awesome as far as sound quality and passive noise cancellation, and are EXTREMELY comfortable. I have worn them for up to 7 hours while recording in the studio. The best part is that they only cost $100. I hope this helps any of you that are freaked by the high price of the PXC's.

  • I dont know why ur show doesnt get more views, i dont know why but ur voice is relaxing for some reason(no homo)

  • This really looks like a comfortable set of headphones, however it could use a usb power plug like the notebook headset I'm currently wearing.

Btw.: I dug out a 20yr old AKG headphone the other day and I'm still stunned by its comfort and the sound quality it provides, also for *quiet* bass guitar rehearsals :-)

  • If you want more views you have to use tags that people search a lot.

If you want higher quality than you should become a youtube partner and then you will be able to set an option where people can click a direct button for higher youtube quality, and being a partner gets you more views.

  • you're welcome...you're welcome...you're welcome!!

  • ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY!

  • I have a pair of common sony noise canceling set bought for 50 bucks and do a great job on airplanes and at home. The price is why I bought them. However, what I like about Sennheiser is the ear cups. When it comes to noise canceling you don't want small you want comfort and large ear cups and these have it. I would buy these except for the cost. Why not design a large cup version and someone will pay 100 bucks for the comfort?

Father, you are the most awesome host. God Bless you.

  • Thanks 30framessec,

I agree with you 100% I have a pair of Sony NC sets and they work great for most things. However, I would never use them on an airplane for anything more than an hour or two because they just aren't as comfortable as I need them to be.

The Sennheiser is WAY expensive... and they don't appologize for it. If you just want a set to listen to tunes, this is a vast overexpenditure. But if you want something that will give you sleep on a trans-pac.. this is it!

  • I have a pair of the Bose 2 and I love them, I wish the ear cups were a bit bigget and deeper.

These look like they are bigger.

How would you rate them next to the bose 2?

  • Actually, the ear cup depth is what I like most about the PXC-350s. I like the Bose series, and to be completely honest I think that the active noise-cancellation features are pretty much a wash between Bose and Sennheiser. But the fact that the 350s have a deeper cup means that I don't wake up mid-flight with a case of sore ears.

  • Great review.. just sometimes it seems like theres something you don't like about the headset that you just don't want to say for some reason =)

  • I LOVE this headset! --- I just can't stand the price! :)

  • amusing intro.

i would love a pair of these, but, as you said, $300 is a bit pricy especially considering they could have a much better pair out in six months.

  • your videos are amazing i wonder why ur not geting alot of views

  • It's all cyclical. I haven't quite figured out yet why one vid will get 50k views and another will get 200.

On the up side, we HAVE noticed that there are now MANY more people downloading the episodes than watching them on YouTube.

For example, the last episde has less than 300 views on YT, but more than 6,500 downloads from TheTechStop.

Perhaps people are just getting tired of low quality?

  • nice video

  • Nice product and like i expect great quality, but a little pricy.

  • Great video, i love Sennheiser's products, but unfortunately i cant afford any of their "enthusiast" headphones.

  • They seem great, like my iPod stero in a headset design, tho I don't think I'll be buying them anytime soon it seems like a great product for someone that travels alot and just want to relax. I hope you guys won the computer set!
