  • Thanks, After watching all 3 of your videos I was able to fix ours. It had 12 cents in the valve.

    Thanks so much!!!!! Great job!!!!

  • @4MajesticImages Wow, 12 cents. That's impressive.

  • Excellent help! Thank you so much, in our case it was a toothpick in the Diverter. Took about 15 minutes to fix!

  • @Feathermerchant71556 I like to hear how fast people can resolve this. I'm not that quick.

  • @vibrantjourney

Like it, has helped me lots.

    Can’t wait your next video.

    Thank you.

  • Wow this is great! My F P eco intuitatve washer just started beeping and gave error code 51. Which is Diverter Valve.I just turned off and on and forwarded to rinse cycle and it works ok. But it repeated on next wash - so it does look like something is stopping the water diverting... I rang Service Centre and have tech booked for next week. BUT know am trying to get courage up to have a look at the Diverter valve following your instructions :-)

Thanks I will let you know how i go :=)

  • @cferart Hope all went well.

  • You and YouTube are a life saver or I should say money saver. Thank you and thank you.

  • @brentholley It is nice saving a few notes. Thanks for the, er, note.

  • who needs the sheets when you can figure it out yourself anyway. dismantling to me is considered more than enough to figure it out. repair all types of appliances when I was a kid regardless of they are no technical specifications.

  • @98770 That's cool you're so comfortable and able to fix things. Me, I need all the help I can get. :)

  • Thank you very much for your video!

  • @EyeRuinMe Glad you found it helpful. If you have more details from your experience, please let us know.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Been unemployed for over a year and then the washer quits! Was trying to figure out how to find the money to fix it and with your help I fixed it on my own. In my case there was a dollar bill threaded through the diverter. So, I made money by fixing it myself!

  • @Windus Great story, first time someone has noted making money on a fix and not just saving money. Awesome!

  • Thank you for making this look so easy.i have the same wash machine but it is leaking underneath on right corner. so im thinking from reviews it's the diverter valve leaking.i have read this can short out the main board.if it continues to leak im currently not using it because of this leak.again thank you so much for this video.

  • Thank you for posting your F&P repair. The fact that you can repair these machines on your own with only a Phillips screw driver and a pair of plyers is one of the main reasons we bought ours 7 years ago. I wash all sorts of heavy things full of dirt and dog hair and this is the first issue we have ahd with our machine.. wish us luck.. we are going in!

  • It is 5 hours later, hopefully you finished the fix a long time ago and have run a few loads with success. Good idea purchasing with ease of maintenance in mind.

  • thank you for doing this video. our washer was leaking, We just cleaned the diverter valve (a tiny amount of lint and a mini zip tie note to self, check boys pockets)and I am patiently waiting to see if it has worked and cured our problem. :)

Thanks again, I am hoping that this has saved us a service call. You are brilliant!

  • I'll assume no news is good news and your washer is no longer leaking. It feels so good.

  • Thanks so much - your videos gave me the wherewithal to tackle my machine. My wife put pillows in there which exploded, sending polyester fluff everywhere. No problem with the diverter valve, just tons of fluff plugging up the propeller on the pump. I pulled out the easy part of the diverter valve just in case. Washer is washing right now trouble free. I never had much use for YouTube before this. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the comment and glad the videos were helpful. Those pillows exploding in the washer would have made a great video!

I'll add pillows to our list of things not to put in the washer.

  • I did not know about the manual inside the machine thanks. prior i did call F&P to get fault code diagnosed. F&P highly discoraged me from trying to fix it myself.

despite my high degree of exp. (ex master automotive tec. and ex electronics tec.) easy fix just removed valve and removed junk stuck in the valve.

  • I'm sure it was an easy fix for you given your experience. For me, I have to be sure I won't make matters worse so am always assessing what I'm comfortable doing and when I should call in experts. For these diverter valve issues I'd hate to spend the money on a service call for such an easy fix. Thanks for the note.

  • wow, great, thank you very much! we were about 3 days out from going on an overseas trip when our machine broke. two little kids, loads of laundry to do, and the service man was too busy to come out and look at it. this video saved the day!

  • Must have been stressful. Glad it worked out for you. I wish I was about to venture overseas as well. Hope your trip was good.

  • The paper under the control panel is not a service manual. It's a simple tech sheet for quick reference by a serviceman in the field. I have the full service manuals for several models. By the way, the divertor valve can be toggled on/off for recirculate and drain in Diagnostic Mode by the Delicate cycle button. Delicate On is recirculate, Off is drain. Of course, the pump must also be run.

  • Thanks for the note, it will be helpful to viewers.

  • Bravo!! My Kenmore died today after 28 years of service. I've been on line checking for the most energy eff. as well as reliable washing mac. Some how I came across your clip and couldn't stop watching. Maybe the DIY network will pick you up next fall. LOL. I did enjoy it, thanks Leigh

  • LOL. My wife always laughs when I post these videos. In turn, I always let her know when I get a new comment and how many views the videos get.

Before posting the first video, I hesitated but then did it after seeing people post videos of loading a washer and watching it run through its cycles. I like my washer, but not that much.

Thanks for the comment and the "couldn't stop watching." I'm blushing.

  • You are a legend! Any person who goes to that much effort to help people is a legend.

    cheers!!!

  • Could of saved time, does not need rocket science to work out it had a blockage...

  • Anything new is a learning experience. Just like many others, I had not worked on a washer before. I posted the video to possibly help others that might not be comfortable taking on similar projects, to expand my learning experience by producing a complete process from diagnosis to resolution and confirmation, and to serve as my long-term memory -- in case I have to work on this machine again. If it helps one other person, that is enough for me. Post your how-to's, I'm sure they'd be helpful!

  • Thats cool..

Anyway, Is this model a GW711?

I am looking for the service manual like the one you have under the display panel..

  • Just checked your first video, and found your is the GWL11, which is part of the phase 6 models.

Would be good if I could get a copy of the service manual you have (Which was under the display panel), I would pay for any costs involved to a copy :)

  • I can copy mine for the GWL10 and send it to you by email or by postal service.

  • RevMarket, thanks for offering this to Jamesnov1970.

Jamesnov1970, I didn't completely ignore your request. I checked F&P's site for the manual, but it isn't posted. I sent them an email for permission to post it online, but the National Service Manager "stated that we will not be posting a tech sheet on our website, and we do not give permission for you to do

    so either."

I was asked to "please refer them to us so we can refer them to a local authorized service company for service."

  • vibrantjourney, Yes I know how they are at F&P.

Thats why I am looking for help here.

I work at Newcastle Salvos store(Australia)

I repair washing machines. F&P do not do want outside repairmen working on there machines for some reason...

  • That would be great, a copy by email would be a good option....

  • Give me a day or two. I must get my son to scan, then send to me via email, and then forward it to you. How do I get your email address?

  • I enjoyed this video very much. I am having washing machine problems with draining. You did an excellent job of making the video and I appreciate the education you gave me!!!!

    Betty

  • I hope it helps! Let us know how it goes.

  • fisher and paykel machines are the worst machines for damageing clothes and breaking down all the time mine went to the dump never would buy that crap again

  • The only way any washing machine damages clothes, is when they are overloaded.

  • Had mine for 6 or 7 years and the only 2 times I had a problem was the first diverter valve plastic tab broke after 5 years. Changed that out 2 years ago. Now it seems the second valve's electrical plunger actuator is not functioning. But for $28 US I can get a new one and install myself. Will post back if this repairs it.
