Diane: I think you should seriously take Lyle's suggestion and make your own ukulele CD, and then take him up on his offer to play bass backup (I'm sure you're aware of how many famous musicians he has backed up on bass). Saw your "Lulu's Back In Town" rendition -- again, fantastic! Been practicing that one myself for some time and STILL can't get it completely smooth. You have the talent.
Amazing ukulele accompaniment! Did you figure out that chord progression on your own? Noticed Lyle Ritz was mentioned in your links -- I think he would be proud. More like this, please. You're fantastic.
@GruenTic Thank you! No, I did not figure this out on my own. I had a teacher who gave me the ukulele part - Alfredo Canopin. It was his version or interpretation of Lyle Ritz's version. My version includes my own strumming techniques, etc. I played this for Lyle Ritz some years ago, among other related songs, & he handed me his number & told me he'd be my back up bass player if I ever made an ukulele album. He actually told me I played his songs better than him! Can you believe it! Ha!!
I remember this was the first thing I did after I dropped my kid off to his first day of preschool (i.e, my first break from full time mommyhood) hehe, thanks for always being supportive Fran!
