Why is this the best EDC light?? Even being 2 years old I don't see why it's the best EDC light. It doesn't even have a pocket clip??? no, flood to throw ?? no, candlestick top?? no reinforced lens rim?? even for 2009 this had to only be a mediocre light at best.
@tecnolover2642 ofc it is a matter of taste.. but the size, weight and ergonomics are almost perfect.. also the PD switch is one of the most reliable ways of turning on a flashlight compared to clickies that then to fail
Why would you say that NiMH-rechargable batteries aren't recommended? Would be the other way around, that they ARE recommended. You will never get the best performance in the light with alkalines, they can't take the load. Use alkalines in emergency. If you want your light to be even brighter, use 14500. The light is build to be used with both chemistries(li-ion 14500s and regular NiMH rechargables).
This light is not the D10 SP correct? Do you know if the d10 tribute edition has the same anodized finish as the D10 you reviewed in this video? I dont like the black of the EZAA, but the D10 has an awesome brownish finish. Thanks, awesome light.
Actually, they don't recommend using them, but nickel metal hydride batteries work perfectly fine in the D10. The problem is that they don't interface well with the computer regulator so you will see minor dimming as the battery depletes.
No, it's pretty simple. Press and hold in Momentary for momentary on. Now, when you have the piston depressed, quick tap twice and let go for lowest, tap twice and hold for maximum. It's just the same, easy and simple system
Question. Suppose the flashlight is initially at minimum and then I ramp it up to, say, 40%.
And suppose I then use the flashlight for a few minutes at that setting and now I want to use the flashlight at 20% for awhile. In that scenario, what's the most efficient way and least tedious way to accomplish this ? I don't have to first ramp up from 40% to 100% before being able to ramp down to 20%, do I ?
Well, I was interested on the Led Lenser P5, but then I noticed the NiteCore D10 R2 and.. it's so much nicer than the Led Lenser P5.
The only inconvenient from the NiteCore is that it doesn't have any focus method.. that's way too bad :( otherwise she would definitely the best flashlight on market from its price..
You say that they don't not want us to use rechargable batteries.. :) I'm, not sure who it is, but using rechargable NiMH or Li-ion (14500) batteries is no problem.
I don't know what do you mean by "it".. my reaction was on the video, 3:58. So never say NOWHERE :)
I think Mr. demissie101 might have been cenfused with the statement in manual, that rechargeble Li-ion batteries without safety circuit should not be used
Thats a great looking flashlight, great review the second flashlight looks great to they both look well made, keep sending out the great reviews 5***** stay safe 111PARA[+]
Hey, Im glad your enjoying your new light, enjoyed the trade, although I do miss the light now, hahaha, Ill have to replace it eventually...Isnt it funny how once you carrya new itemk you find good uses for it, before I found CPF, I never carried a flashlight, but once I started to I found I would be lost without it, strange huh...
dude.. its the other way around.. this light doese not eat alkalines due to the slow drain, that can make alkalines leak and ruin your light..

@ltm7575 you can choose to mount the clip or not..

These aren't good for emergency lights. Because of the electric switch it has a constant drain, after about a year it'll be completely drained...

how did you take that lanyard out of the bag so fast

Guys, I have to be honest. The paracord lanyard Nitecore flashlights come with feels like junk, it does have 7 strands though when you split it.

in mommentary mode if you press and hold will it change settings or start ramping or does it lock in the setting you were on?

My favorite 1AA light is the Fenix L1T v.2. I love how simple it is. Low is 16 lumens and high is around 100.

double tap to bring it back to minimum then ramp up to 20%.

I e-mailed 4sevens and they said the Nitecore D10 CAN use NiMH batteries. Is there a reason why you stated not to use NiMH batteries?

Indeed. NOWHERE does it say NiMH are not able to be used. They are in fact a preferred power source.

I like better Fenix PD20, it's smaler and brighter, that's my EDC.
I don't think Cr123 are dangerous even if they store more power.
