Excel files are not accessed by this driver as far as I know. However you could use office automation which allows you to open excel file and preform any excel operation on them.
I spent two hours this morning trying to get an Access db tied into a VB datagridview quite unsuccessfully. Now, after 45 minutes with your tutorial #1; I not only know how, but also, what is going on under the hood. Thank you very, very much. On to #2 !

Thank you for simplifying something I really struggle with.
Finding a "how to" guide on this is hard because its so broad a subject and easy to get very technical very quickly.
Your layers analogy is very good, made a lot of sense.
Are you going to make a tutorial on querying the DB? I have read a lot on this but nobody breaks down the code explaining what each piece does :(
