The percentage of Americans favoring the legalization of marajuana has steadily risen over the last 50 years. It now stands at 50% according to a recent poll (I forget which polling company, though.)
Q - Why would they want to shut out that discussion?
A - Because their students might start to think for themselves and come to the inescapable conclusion that there is no rational reason for dope being illegal while alcohol and tobacco are legal and that may contradict the decades of propaganda that they have put so much effort into shoving down their throats.
Are there any people that don't drink at all out of protest? Not in the straight edge way, but in the "making alcohol legal and not pot is stupid" way.
It would be so difficult to get a majority to boycott alcohol. But I just want to know if a few do this on their own.

Prohibition doesn't work. It has NEVER worked! Drugs, alcohol, prostitution.... governments have tried to prohibit these things throughout history across the world. @nabiji The best argument I can think of is parity with alcohol. They have a similar levels of inebriation, both can affect already-present mental illness, excessive use is harmful. Alcohol is more toxic has much greater lasting physical damage and is the cause of violence in a percentage of users.
Alcohol is the more harmful drug, but it is legal, cannabis is illegal. If we had parity in legislation then either both should be legal, both should be illegal or weed should be legal and booze not.

The drug dealers will have no incentive to grow and maintain vast amounts of pot if marijuana is legalized, because people will be buying it in stores. I think the average consumer would not really care about the thc content as long as they can conveniently purchase some at any store. @nabiji The best argument I can think of is parity with alcohol. They have a similar levels of inebriation, both can affect already-present mental illness, excessive use is harmful. Alcohol is more toxic has much greater lasting physical damage and is the cause of violence in a percentage of users.
Alcohol is the more harmful drug, but it is legal, cannabis is illegal. If we had parity in legislation then either both should be legal, both should be illegal or weed should be legal and booze not.

We just say: hey criminals, here is this very addicting substance, figure out for yourselves how you can create yourself some loyal customers.

The notion that these people who are on hard drugs will be employable is crazy, most end up out of work and often homeless regardless. The drug dealers will have no incentive to grow and maintain vast amounts of pot if marijuana is legalized, because people will be buying it in stores. I think the average consumer would not really care about the thc content as long as they can conveniently purchase some at any store. She's racist (she bashes Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and anyone who isn't Christian.) She's a coward (she never shows her face and does many of her posts in the middle of the night so people can't respond to her.) Worst of all ecw is an alcoholic and crackhead (anyone who bashes drugs and alcohol as much as she does always are.)
