Actually, the story behind Mr. Max Keith, the man running Coca-Cola's / Fanta's operations in prewar Germany, is quite a heroic one. The Oskar Schindler of Soda Pop.
Okay you might want to actually get facts instead of just finding out that "Nazi's invented Fanta." Coke was actually cut off from Germany at some point around the US's entry into the war. The Germans used up the rest of the stockpile of Coke syrup and bottles which eventually ran out. A scientist then experimented with saccharine (a synthetic sugar popular at the time because of the low supply of real sugar), fruit juice and carbonated water. It happened to be a hit and Coke realized... Cont'd.
this and bought out the rights to Fanta after the war and now they currently market it. An irony in itself that "Germany's new softdrink" was bought out by the company it was intended to replace. Of course they utilized the old Coke bottling plants which made it easier for Coke to reclaim their "property" and the patents/formulas for Fanta. But don't worry I'm sure you believe that every German citizen was a Jew-hating, war loving, Nazi hell bent on domination of the world.
@goldenhide No. I just boycott Amerikan products as a rule. Softdrinks are shite, eventhough I stated in this thread that I would rather drink Afri-Cola. I find it disgraceful that saccarine is still used. Ok for diabetics or what ever reason the use to force it on EVERYONE...but why do people with diabetes have to increase their cancer risks?????
@shilltheshillXXX Hmmmm am I included in "EVERYONE?" I don't ever seem to recall saccarine, which isn't even in fanta anymore, ever being forced on me. Did some stahlhelm wearing coke-nazi march into your home as a child and force you to down fantas? somehow i think not
@VannevarBush So und jetzt noch mal extra für dich: Ich meinte damit das Video und nicht die Entstehungsgeschichte von der Saftmarke Fanta, alles klar? ;)
