Thanks this is a peace I always wanted to play in church just on the organ. Now you have me convinced.thanks again, and may our heavenly Father bless you every day as you play for him.
A nice interpretation of this piece, which I find to be most highly overrated. I encourage you to continue to perform this on the pipe organ and leave the bagpipes outside on the marching field.
Interesting rendition. Having been born in Scotland, and raised in the USA, I'm quite partial to anything Scottish.
I am also an organist, and member of the Masonic Scottish Rite. I learned this both as an organ solo and accompanying pipes. I don't take this piece any faster than mm=60. It is classified as a dirge-march. It should not be hurried at all.
I would so very much like to have the sheet music for this well-done organ solo transcription: is it available? If so, please advise whom to contact, and how, to obtain it. Thank you "Flute Celeste" for posting! (I do not know German ~ sorry!)
Sounds very good, but it would sound better with a massed bands along with it. That would be Awesom. Filling the church with a bunch of pipe bands to record this, with you playing the organ.
Ahh! Couldn't mistake that warmth and clarity! I think Schweinfurt was no. 8902. It was built in 1951 and I believe it was replaced with a modern tracker-action instrument in recent years. I think St. Johannis made a mistake not keeping it. Where again is this organ? Would like to put it on my must-see.
I am from Scotland and I would like to thank you for this magnificent rendition of this great Scottish tune. Your choice of stops at 4:00 & 6:00 were excellent.
Excellent! Could be possible to be in contact to organaze somethig together or a musical exchange betwen you and my friend Pietro delle chiaie (an very good organist)?

dear Friend,
A beautiful interpretation of this piece. I particularly like the organ voices. Thank you!
I have always loved this tune, although not a Scot!

Wirklich gut! Allerdings für meinen Geschmack zu schnell. Und ich muss zustimmen: Das Zugenregister ab 4:00 passt perfekt zu dem Lied.

This organ looks and sounds like a Steinmeyer. Am I correct? Fell in love with one some 25 years ago in Johanniskirche, Schweinfurt(opus 8902).

@Diapason16ft correct!

Do you know where I could find a score for this piece of music for the organ? I'm getting married in August and the organist does not have the music!

Beautiful!
Is Steinmeyer still in business? I've heard the one in Altoona, PA, and it's one of our finest organs, IMO.

Would like to know, who the builder of this fine
instrument is. It has the most wonderful and warm flue stops.
gedeck4foot 3 years ago
It is Steinmeyer, and it was built in 1955-63 with 4 Manuals and 65 stops.
