this question crosses my mind alot.i've talked to some younger and they didn't even HAVE a hero.with the role models today i understand why they answered that way.this craphole world needs its heroes.those that stand for whats right, has manners, looks out for those weaker.takes no glory in hurtin others.where have the heroes gone?they're still there, but these punks no longer care.
Thank you for sharing this. It's really unfortunate that the kids today look up to Duke Nukem characters in video games, or rappers who think that calling a lady a hoe is better than treating her with respect or sports figures who think that it's more about the millions playing the game than it is the sportsmanship.
Yes, the hero's from my time are long dead and gone, but never will they be forgotten by me.
Yes there are many heroes out there in the US, they stand on the corner begging for change, sit in a wheelchair or canno find a job because of PTSD, and because of bullshit propaganda that made them jump the zionist bandwaggon and go to Iraq. And now they get the boot again, like the "heroes" of the vietnam era and others who got their legs blown off and dumped by a "grateful society"
This song made my day, because it made me recognize the heroes I know that sacrifice their lives every day. There are still heroes out there, you just need to find them.
I still have this 45rpm and listen to it every now and then. My kids think how corny this song is. I tell you, I like it and it has a lot of meaning to me.
How true , When I was a Kid I looked up to my Brothers who were in the Military and My Cousin , who was a Green Beret . Never had a Cowboy Hat I had a Bonnie Hat and a Green Beret , Guess thats why at 18 I joined up and at 21 earned My Beret
