@SillyNerdify Um, pretty sure that qualifies you as the world's slowest animator. I can make a ball bounce twice in less than two hours, hand drawn frame by frame not using flash.

People just don't want to hear about these kinds of issues. Girls and women are marginalized all over in the media. It doesn't represent an accurate portrayal of society at all, one that has 50/50 men and women. Males are seen as the "norm", as something everyone can relate to, and lead interesting lives. Females are "abnormal", and only women apparently can relate to female characters. This is really sad.
@MezzaLuna22 actually now a days the "Strong women heroine" is over used. For example, take the many Horror films that has women as the main character or strong character. Silent Hill, The Ring, Halloween etc. The media has branded women stronger but women are still i need in society to be better especially in the work force with wages and benefits. Asides from the fact of beauty and physical beauty i say women for images in the media are not doing so bad.

Also, even if a movie has a female lead, she's usually outnumbered by male side characters. Also think about how female lead stories tend to be romance stories.
This is a good episode that really sheds light onto a depressing issue. Female characters are pretty rare in children's media, and it's not much better for adult media either. Girl characters suffer from tokenism, or the "Smurfette Principle". Even if there are lots of princess movies, they're always just about finding love in the end. Movies and shows shouldn't have to have male main characters to appeal to a general audience.
@MezzaLuna22 Oh please... You say princess movies are all about finding love in the end what do you think the majority of adult female programming is about? You can't always blame the media of how women are being shown because if women were really tired of being stereotyped as being certain types certain women wouldn't participate in doing characters that do just so. So in essence there is really now reason to sit around and moan and complain...
@FamilyGuy770 Tianna from Princess & the Frog was a good example. She was more concerned with opening up her resturant than she was with finding her prince. Princess Sally Acorn from Sonic SatAM is another good example of a decent female character but not that many people know about her since she isn't in any of the games.
