  • all the thwack-a-whackin shit means what? Is that the line to Good Hearted Woman???

  • keep in mind that if you're keeping the stage volume down, like you should be, tone is most important. Get the sound you want, the days of needing 1000s of watts in your bass rig are over unless you're in a hair metal cover band or people haven't caught on to the new technology. If you use ear buds, you don't even have to have an amp...(I know I'll have haters for saying that)

  • I think either one of the latest incarnations of Acoustic should bring this model back. I perticularly like the 5-band EQ; not quite as fiddly as a ten.

  • I notice that you are running the E.Q. flat. Do you do that all the time, or was it just for the video?

  • @anunknownsaint Most of the time I use it flat, but if on stage the sound is bad than i use it a little.

  • Do you think this would be a good amp for Heavy metal? Because im wanting to get me a bigger amp incase i ever get in a band ya know.

  • @tokorev747777 hmm.. no I don't think so I think it hasn't enough power (3for large metal work, you could try tough,I think a Mesa Boogie will do the job very well !

    Cheers ,Michael

  • @uzzz Thanks man! i was thinking of Getting a Mesa Boogie amp. I hear even though their small they give out a great sound. Its a Mesa power house 4X10 i think. Thanks for the info!!

  • @tokorev747777 it's good for any genre really. i have the 4x10 with the b600 head. it's really the 6 band EQ that sets this setup apart from any other half/full stack. you can get any tone out of it. i play in a band, and we play alternative/indie music and it's great. but im into the classic rock and hard rock genre;s and it works great for those too. i would recommend it.

  • @jeffgnr Hmm. Sounds prety good! I play lead bass in Metal so i want something where you can hear the bass more then normal bands. I will have to try one out. For a start this might be a good stack!

  • @tokorev747777 nice man nice, i added the 4x15 cab later on to my rig, this thing is still a beast. if it's one thing I've noticed through a bunch of live gigs, you never have to worry about losing any low end, it's just always there. I just added a tech 21 Sansamp BDDI to my rig also. Just when I though my sound couldn't get any better, it did lol the BDDI will give you an amazing tube-like distortion, any metal-heads dream lol it also gives you a smoother tone as well.

  • @jeffgnr90 but the smooth tone you already get with the cabs by themselves anyway.

  • @jeffgnr90 Thanks for the info man! Yeah i want a Sansamp so bad! :P Thanks for the info though really! I really appreciated it!

  • @jeffgnr same for me I have b600h and two 4x10 (b410) cabs love theese thing man!!

  • @tokorev747777 Well Al Cisneros uses one... hes in a Drone/Doom metal band Om. And it sounds crushing with the Ampeg and the Marshall clone.

  • The Danelectro sounds like an Alembic!

  • So punchy! Sounds amazing.

  • best sounding amp i ever heard!

  • I would change out the electrolytic caps in the head for some Nichicons. After 20 years the oil in the caps is dried up

  • where on the volume knob does it start to really get dirty and distort on you? I have a 370 amp and 406 cabinet and I'm trying to troubleshoot as to why there's so little clean headroom. I get to maybe 9:00 on the volume knob and it starts to growl, any higher than 11:00 and it's just distorting more and not really getting louder. I can't figure out if my cab speakers are tired or what's going on.

  • @picklehammer Hey man, I checked the volume for you on my stack, but the same here, at 9:00 it starts to get a nice growl and at 11:00 it's distored but it is very loud !!!!

My cabinet is a 4x15 inch at 2 Ohm and I had a 406 2x 15 inch too,I think it's 8 Ohm..I run it with 220 amp and had the same problem, but the distortion was nice for my kind of playing.

    Cheers,

    Michael

I can't play my stack distored ,it's too loud!

  • @picklehammer I own a few of the Acoustic 370 amplifiers. I found that using a small amount of compression (MXR) at low settings improves the sound AND minimizes that "growl" which exist around 100hz. The 370's have a pre-set gain and seem to have a sensitive input. If you stabilize your input they get much louder without that distortion - cully

  • Hi, how do you do the led mod on he controls? or where i can find a tutorial? nice playing

  • @rezo61 Thanks, those are orange marking stikkers,I think there is no led mod for it.

    Cheers,

    Michael

  • Ohhh i see, i use to think that those were leds, tnx

  • @uzzz stickers that mark your preferred amp settings... that's genius! how did i not think of that!

  • @shawnhoffman Cool man ! Cheers!

  • the Danelectro Dead On 58 Longhorn Bass Guitar...RULES!

  • @tornmask yeah man !!! check Rinus from the golden earring on the real deal !!

Eight miles high bass solo !!

    Cheers !

  • @uzzz : W0W! that was AWESOME man!..it reminds me of the late Great Terry Kath's solo "Free Form Guitar" from CHICAGO Transit Authority 1st album...by the way "Rinus" is a Fantastic bassist!..thats for the tip Mate!..CHEERS!

  • Sorry again, but is this bass up there with the fenders and Rickenbackers would say? I was thinking about getting one of these basses and noticed that John Entwistle broke the strings 3 times and they didn't have strings for danelectro Longhorns which really scared me. Are the new ones more durable now?

  • @ox092 On every bass you can brake a string but I have 2 longhorns and didn't broke one yet ,It could be that the aluminium nut on Entwisle's bass was to sharp or the ball end of the string to weak. otherwise you can't brake it on normal to heavy use.

The strings are short scale bass strings ,there are many brands who have them.

Normaly I use Rotosound but my dealer didn't have them so for the longhorn I use DR.

  • sounds so good. i want an acoustic amp.

  • Would you get the same tone sound of slap if you had a different acoustic amp?

  • @ox092 Hey the OX (makes me think of our hero John Entwisle) Yes you get an other tone out of any other acoustic amp, it's becouse this cabinet has 4x 15 inch woofers (408) and an very big sound and the amp has less mid range as the 360 and 220 etc. but it comes close as you play with the EQ (less midrange)and with the 2x 15 inch version the 406, I had that setup before. Cheers, Michael

  • nice Slap you have there.

  • @ox092 Thank you !

  • That is a TRUE sound of a bass guitar! That IS an esence! Great playing, man! Acoustic rules!

  • so you bijna not can hear youre dutch! hehe. coole amp!
