o thats ok , coming on to the point i made, if they had one of those shell things, the airflow would be unstable if thats a good word, the rear wing requires as much air from the front of the car for the rear wing to work effieiently, i believe the fia can solve the problem without having to use some bubble shell, like make the visor in particular more stronger, but it was a freak accident

The fact that we have not had any life threatening accidents in F1 for quite some time has left us with a false sense of security.

However safe the cars have become in crash senarios racing and then crashing at considerable speed is still extreamly dangerous.

It would not surprise me that Schumachers wife Corrina also had some say in his retirement from the sport.

Senna however great a driver he was never reaped the rewards of his greatness- Schumacher can and does.

So F1 fans let's write in to the controllers and suggest it. Who knows when the next incident might happen, and this could have resulted in a catastrophe if it had happened elsewhere on the track.

Also, maybe a screen could add some downforce?

i doubt they would add the screen, this would ruin the downforce on all the cars horribly, then teams will have to re develop their car as a result, this is probably the most freakiest accident ever, however the FIA can force the teams to double check their cars parts, and they should get drivers to wear a helmet which the visor is made out of a more tougher material,

The page that I read said that his eye has recieved damage and the doctors can not be sure whether it will impact his sight. I doubt he will race again this season and if it does damage his sight then he may never race again.

Then there is always the factor of whether he will want to race again after seeing what can happen he may take it as a warning and decide not to carry on.

yeah, great to see he his beginning a slow recovery. a fractured skull though is likely to take about a minimum of 6 weeks to recover, probably longer. if it is badly damaged, pulling a helmet on over it and not to mention the stress his head will be under due to the g-forces etc, and his fitness which will now be less due to his immobility, i doubt we will see him back the rest of the season, never mind valencia. he may never race again depending on his vision also. get well soon felipe!!

Obviously it detached the visor from the helmet, an impact like that is incredible, simply dropping an Arai helmet with a caracoat visor would probably crack the visor.
