It sucks that the Hawaiian culture is decaying. Just like what happened to Native American culture. It disappeared because the pilgrims tried to perish them with guns and deceases. And this video doesn't really explain the Hawaiian culture and how Hawaiians used to make Hawaii more peaceful. It mostly explains the beauty of Hawaii and the tourism :P
I'm half Pacific Islander from Guam, and from what I have seen, Hawai'i looks beautiful, but seems like Hawaiian people are kind of jerks about lots of stuff and hate everyone that's not Hawaiian... I want to go there and go swimming in the Ocean with al the animals there. But I'm worried Hawaiian people will be mean to me for not being Hawaiian =P
@GuamKomudo no worries mayne. just go. i mean they will be mean and all that but im not gonna speak for them. its more so a pride thing. when really. most of them arnt even hawaiian. they either. filipino, japanese or haole. just go bra. it will be a trip you would enjoy
@boricuamovement and being ignorant makes you the greatest thing on 2 feet? i knw what i am and im proud. you and your attitude can jump off a fucking cliff. kuz once again I AM NOT WHITE! i am of hawaiian and puerto rican decent and if you dnt like that then you can eat a bowl of dicks and die slow.
@boricuamovement I am 1/4 Hawaiian. My grandmother lived in Hawaii before it was annexed. When it did become a state she moved to the mainland looking for a better life. She ended up marrying an Irishman. She taught my mother all about Hawaiian culture&traditions&my mother passed that to me.I hula, first learning from my mother who had learned from my grandmother, then from a Halau.
@boricuamovement I have learned much language &history& still, if I were to try & go to Maui to spread my grandmother's ashes on her homeland, there would be people like you telling me I am a haole, & how i don't deserve to be there. I find that to be very sad. The racism. Even if it were one drop of blood flowing through me that were Hawaiian, I would still be Hawaiian. Because of my love for the land, the people, the hula, the history, the language and the culture. not for the color of my skin
@GuamKomudo go mayne! its somewhat similar to guam from what ive been told by my chamorro homies FROM guam. just maybe more modern? idk, all i can say that you are right about hawaiians on the islands and they attitude. just knw a lil something. the "hawaiians" on the islands are mostly either filipino or japanese. only full blooded hawaiians left are on their own seperate private island. and there are only bout 200 left. all others on the island are either 25% n less
Just because you're not BORN there doesn't mean you don't belong there. I'm probably in love with my Chamorro culture and more proud to be Chamorro than alot of people that actually live there... And I will live there, I want to go to the University of Guam to learn Chamorro language and ancient seafaring techniques. I would like to go to Hawai'i one day too, and Samoa, and all the awesome islands! But I don't wanna see commercial Hawai'i, I wanna see HAWAI'I =)
@GuamKomudo i feel you on that. but if you wana see hawai'i then just hit up country side bra. stay away from the city life in hawai'i and live country life. its similar to life in guam bra no lies. the next chance you get to go to another island take it. i would definitely take up oportunities to go to tahiti, fiji, tonga, samoa, new zealand, guam, saipan, i wana see all of the nesian islands
If King Kamehameha or any of his sons were in command, they would have never even thought about handing the Kingdom over like your Queen did, after adopting Christianity in a heartbeat.
After watching such a cool video, to see comments like that are just disappointing. If only 200 years ago the hawaii lands were similar to the 7 pools or the original form of hawaii and to be turned into another version of California or New York even with all the money, high taxed lands, making impossible for the next generation of Hawaii people to become successful. Very much like myself were after paying thousands of dollars a month just to survive.
Like the Japanese and Chinese big business buying up all the land? I understand they own all of Hawaii now. Are there any pure Hawaiians left, or have the all been haoled? Of course the U.S. couldn't leave it the hell alone, they had to work to get more riches from the Hawaiians. God bless Queen Lili. She should have remained queen. She was for the people of Hawaii and not the money grabbing haoles.
@ArkRed1 From what I've heard, there are a few Hawaiians, full blooded, that are still alive. Though many are probably of the older generation. I don't think that all of have been "haoled" unless you mean that in a different sense that I'm thinking of. DX
I do agree with your comment about Queen Liliuokalani and the last sentence though.
What a haole video! Show us what really happened! You Americans stealing our lands, overthrowing our Monarchy, bringing diseases, placing our queen under house arrest and many more!!!
It's because of videos like this that encourage haole people to come!
Hey, you're Pacific Islander? My dads family is from Guam, we are also under US government. But it's not like you can still be angry at people for it, everyone that did that stuff to us is dead. And the people now days don't even know about it =P I wanna learn Hawaiian, but it's hard because not much info out there unless you go to Hawai'i =(
@GuamKomudo no have to go hawaii bra. there is a joint out here in southern cali that teaches the hawaiian lanuage. my dad and unko did it. i havnt kuz i dnt have the money. and you are exactly right about the anger part. thats what i wanted to say on the first comment. they havnt let it go yet. but do you bra. educate yourself about all the other islanders cultures. im slowing doin that by meeting ppl. like samoans, tongans, tahitians, chamorros. just do you mayne!

If you Hawaiians really want your land back, you must do it like the White Nationalists will. You need-
-SOLDIERS

I don't mind them coming under 2 conditions:
- keep da land clean
- no buy land
Hawaii isn't even a state! 49 stars not 50!
