@druid54us ah great to hear, I'm always happy to hear more people are getting into the hobby. Check out some of my tips videos for all sorts of info that'll help your rp learning curve.
@woodwwad Thanks I will check it out. Currently playing Vampires of the dark ages with a group of friends not bad I just wish we had more people to play with, I'm also trying to organize a group to play Wraith the oblivion.
@woodwwad There is four of us that's including the storyteller, hoping to get a few other friends into it, the pitch is always awkward but i can make a convincing argument. There is a Lamia a Cappadocian and Im playing a Malkavian,
Would you mind doing a review of the Eberron book and maybe a couple of the specific setting books in the Realms, like Unapproachable East just for an overview of how they're written/quality of info?
keen to see some videos and reviews on the Dark Ages world of darkness games and supplements/modules, specifically Vampire, as thats what Im running at the moment.
@lawbag1 I'll put something from that on the list. I played in a VTDA game that lasted for over 4 years & have run it before too. I have a large # of videos on the vampire clans, which you might want to check out.
@woodwwad both you and clickclackbang have done clan reviews and Ive watched some that are relevant to the DA games. As Im sure you are aware the clans of the Dark Ages are very different to the Modern and Victorian eras.
@lawbag1 Yes & no, blood is blood, of course there are cultural differences but blood is still blood. Yes, The Earl of RPGs, clackclickbang & I plan on both doing each of the clans.
Most of those I played D&D with actually stopped when 3.0 came out. After almost 25 years of THACO's and other standard things, starting something with new books and spending more money was too much. 30 people i know, left the game totally cause of that alone, rest left when 4th ed started .I wont consider doing anything to support WOC or Hasbro and actually wont buy toys for my kids that are made by them/their subsidiaries. The f..%$^&* everyone who had played the game with so much devotion.
@KorumEmrys Yeah, 4th did. I find 3.5 to be vastly better than ad&d. It is certainly easier to teach people. I don't know why people would stop playing ad&d because a different edition came out. If you liked the older edition, just keep playing that. Seems pretty simple. I can understand you not supporting hasbro, but they make GI Joe, which I do buy for my son.
Nice to see another gamer still loving it..I started playing D&D in September of 1975, and played almost weekly for my first 21 years, before playing only 2x a month, until 4th edition which caused me to have stop playing this game. Wizards & Hasbro took it to far, and after over 30K in this wonderful game, I am glad to see others who still have older materials..=)
@KorumEmrys I really dislike 4th. I'm a 3.5 guy, I started nearly 24 years ago in rpgs in '87. Thanks for the comment & I hope to hear more from you on your views of gaming.
@woodwwad You didn't, haha, so am I, although it is because of people in my Lit classes that I was forced to double major into Classics just to have something that was not Lit
I mean seriously (at least where I am at UC Santa Cruz) Lit Major (except for a select few) = read a book then discuss why you hate America/Corporations, then try to create a link between what you think and what you just read even though the two are completely unrelated... its with these people in mind that I comment haha
@tewalker13 Ah, I was a little lost to why you were talking about that at first. Yeah, I have a degree in English (creative writing, not Lit) & Philosophy (religious studies).
Cal is really liberal & they do like that sort of thing, corporation bashing. Of course, there is good & bad there.
@woodwwad I mentioned it because you mentioned that they should have had an English major write the kids novels you were showing (because they were so badly written) and I instantly thought of how one of my English majors would go about it... Johnny the fighter goes off to fight the evils of capitalism... ugh I cringe at the mere thought of it hahahaha
@tewalker13 Ah right, now I recall saying that. Yeah, some of these older fantasy novel are just utterly terrible, just really bad, pitiful even. If you think Johnny the Fighter is bad, you certainly don't want to read that book I was talking about. Yeah, it was that bad.
I too lost a lot of my collection, me due to my former musical gypsy wanderings. I am truly fortunate to still have all the D&D core books, minus a few from 2E (DMG, MM). Very nice collection, even without considering your loss. Nice one. Would be funny to hear a review of the D&D CYOA Mountain of Mirrors :) But, don't add it to the list (though it would be a laugh).
Congratulations on 200 ! Wasn't so long ago I remember toasting your 100th 'Is Gaming Geeky?' post.
@23penguins32 Yeah, I am rapid. I don't know, it really wouldn't be worth doing. It was just alarmingly bad in areas that it didn't need to be. The names of the creatures were totally ridiculous.
@woodwwad That's what I mean, it would be funny to watch you tear into the book, the names, etc ! But, there's probably much more serious and worth-your-time things to be doing. Thanks, man.
You had an accident that resulted in your losing your books? Well, that's what happens when you do a People's Elbow and a Hulk Legdrop on your bookshelves, you crazy fool.
I have the book of Erotic Fantasy in PDF. I'll hopefully review it one day. I do love the Sword & Sorcery Creature Collections. A nice dark twist on monsters. Including ratmen!
I'm hoping to concentrate my collection into one area in the future. At the moment it is scatter all over my apartment. I did an Apartment Tour that shows it off. It covers some 60' of shelving space. But I have been collecting since 1978.
@tetsubo57 Me either, I usually have my collection all over the place. Took me about 20 minutes to clean them up enough to get them into presentable for the video. All the books I'm reading I usually have on my kitchen bar or near my chair, I usually shoot my vids from.
But good on both our wives for being tolerant of our massive amount of books.
It's cool you still have the note on the Monster Mythology book. :) I'm glad your channel has been so successful. Very impressive collection Ander. I had some of those choose your own adventure books you held up, but I thought they were fun, hehe. I mainly liked the black & white art in them though. I think at one point I cut a bunch of the art out and put it on my walls. Have a good one.
@masterofflowers Actually it isn't that nice to live in a house with no ranks in crafts. I do have a jury-rig feat. I would guess the Epic book would have to have some cool feats. We are a slow xp group, so the highest level character I've ever had in a game I ran was 13th. I start all my pcs at first level. The highest level pcs I've had in the 3x line is 11th; alhough I've gone higher in AD&D. Mindflayers are the gimick. Hell yeah he is & thanks. Those D&D DYOA are terrible
@woodwwad Well Imeant nice that you use D&D terms to describe stuff. I do the same. Jury-rig feat now that is actually useful.
I have had a couple games where the p[layers reached 20+. If I am not mistaken I think there are actually feats and stuff that are difficult to obtain because of high stats but are not based on high level(20+) class.
I have not read them since I was a child. I have fond memories of them. But then again I don't read them now so I am sure my tastes have changed.
@masterofflowers No, I understood you but I figured I'd point out that it sucks. Yeah, they were bad but I'm hoping my son will enjoy them. I think they are for a 7 year old to read.
@alokov It was $1.99, cannot pass up a book for that cheap. Could resell it for more, if I so choose later.
& that's the edition my friends keep trying to force me to play. I might have to give in at some point. 3 of them have been asking me to give it another try for years.
@alokov I take it you have not read it, correct? It is terrible writing. Of all the world of darkness game books it has a the poorest quality of writing.
Nice collection, weird seeing only one view when I first went to check it. One day I'll get my collection back up to what it used to be, just really busy as of late.
@Andulvar I know that's right. The views are high on this one, already 78 & this is the first time I've checked it. So it's being watched a lot in the early going, by my standards.
Nice WOD collection, but I didn't get the last part: you hate the Apocalypse line?

@druid54us Ah cool, that size group works well. Vampire is a game that I wouldn't recommend more than 4 players & one ST for.
