What do you get when you team up Kevon and Melvin Edmond of After 7 with K-CI and Jojo of Jodeci? You get 1 of the best collobo teams since LSG.Same year 2 now that I think of it."SMOOTH ERA" in the house here.
Whatever happen to After 7? I thought they had a nice sound to them. What happen to real good music? The music these days just can't stand up to the quality we had back then, dang I miss it!!! R&B is becoming a dying art and I don't see us stopping it from happening though I know we trying ya'll! What are we do? :>(
This kinda music didn't die, its because the entertainment industry are more interested in making money with cash cows like boybands, miley cyrus and stuff. They like to market songs that will be guranteed to make money, and if the singer looks good its a bigger plus, Companies these days don't want to risk marketing GOOD music with the thought of not being able to make money. Not gangsta rap
You're totally off the radar. All the music of this time period, is about love and relationships. Gangsta rap, is totally opposite of it, women are degraded and treated like bitches/skanks etc. Don't get me wrong, i love gangsta rap, but i'm pointing out the fact it plays its part in destroying quality music.
When I listened to this at first I didn't remember it, but know that I listened to it again I remember it like it came out yesterday....I don't know what's up that lol
damn i miss hitz like these!! i think babyface is a musical genius, damn he is gr8!!!! this makes me want to have a boyfriend, it makes me feel bad coz i am not in love with any1.
bittersweet memories!! Damn, I love this track, and it came out at a time I was breaking up with my first love, I could relate to EVERY LINE in the song, lol!!!
whoooo!! is that cat with the high voice? 3:06 kinda like tevin campbell.i thought it was jesse powell, but i gues i was all wrong.i need 2 find his music
This group milestone was Kabyface, K-CI, and Jojo only babyface brother kevon was not in the group. It was just only those three all right. The movie was called soul food. that comes on television on BET Jazz channel.
I agree with all the comments that today's music is junk compared to classics like these. But the reality is today's crap is marketed to a younger and younger demographic - and they have the buying power. They're the kids on the internet downloading T-Pain and Souljaboy. That's where the $ is for the record companies. We can change music with our wallets and our preferences, but it's hard when the kids are driving the market because they like Chris Brown, Ne-yo, and T-Pain and all that crap!
will artists ever go back to sing like this again? i truly miss tha days when it was all about passion for music, not booty n fake dollarz like todays muziq..
I forgot this song was on my ipod and, after listening to it today, I thought I recognized the voice(I definitely recognized Kevon and KC's voice), I had to see who made up the group. Okay, KC, JoJO and Face's brothers Kevon and Melvin. Okay. I miss After 7. I loved Kevon in that group with Melvin and I don't remember the third guy's name.
Beautiful song. The classics are still the best. People don't sing like this anymore. From the heart, I mean. These men were true while they sang this song. It wasn't just a paycheck to them like everyone nowadays like Ne-yo and all those little fake boys.
lord i thank God for my husband we been together for so long since i was 17 and now i am 27 and i thank God because we would not be able todo it with out him. If yu dont remember anything else dont try to change your man. it messes things up.
soul food is one of my favorite movies and i instantly fell in love with the song when i heard it. we need to get a petition started for record companies to bring back guys like this who can really sing and put on a good performance!

Don't you sound ignorant!! "Milestone" is not a real group. It's made up of Babyface, KC, Jojo and Babyface's brother. Hell in the moving, the main point was that it was Michael Beach's group. He was the keyboardist. I defy to show me a CD, a single or anything that makes reference to "Milestone" that isn't connected to the movie Soulfood.
Next time, you should find some other way to express yourself, using crazy profanity doesn't make you right, but it does make you look stupid.
I would say that both of you are right to some degree. It was a group formed for the movie made up of other singers. I also looked on Amazon they have CD single, its a Japanese import selling for 20.98. Check it out. This is a cool forum, name calling isn't necessary.
They aren't a real group. Milestone was the name of the group in the movie. Kind of like CB$ or N.W.H (niggas with hats) aren't real groups but were in movies. Except this faux group had real musicians in it. Next time, do YOUR research.

Great male vocalists who brought their voices together to sing this meaningful song.

let's see. these guys came 2gether & called this group milestone. the only place i ever saw them was on the Soul Food soundtrack. The group features 2 groups of brothers; K-Ci & JoJo Hayley, Melvin, Kevon & Kenny (Babyface) Edmonds. There..., history lesson. I still love this track.
