Also, what I mean by "possess" is to weild the full phoenix force, not just a shell for phoenix. You will find a lot of mutant is just a shell for Phoenix. Only an Omega Psinoic mutant can have access to Phoenix full force. Emma Frost burns when she was the host and the others only have brief contacts or a fragment of the force. Korvus had the blade to help wield the force. Read X-Men Forever #3 where Death tells Jean that she is the Phoenix.. Also in the Endsong when Jean force the Phoenix out of Emma, it was stated that Jean and the Phoenix force is One. No one could be the white crown of Phoenix except Jean.

yes, pyslocke wasn't around when she last bonded with the phoenix turning into the the white phoenix but he was around after jean found out all about the dark phoenix and decided to expel the phoenix spark. thats when jean continued in the x-men and the power switch occurred. all of this after the clone and the real jean under water and everything.
This isn't 100% right. Jean is a powerful telepath AND telekenetic. The Pheonix isn't called the pheonix until Xavier and her start their sessions. There is no "reguilar" jean becuase the phenoix is a part of her in the movie. She is always "regular jean" with just two personalities All of her power was only limited by the Professor. Also, there is only one that could be consider beyond Omega level and thats Vulcan. Vulcan had been defeated by white crown of Phoenix in "What If v2, #79".
The only reason why Vulcan was considered beyond Omega is because in the whole series he would absorb powers and use them for his own plus his own natural abilities...in the What if version it just says what would happen if he obsorbed Xaviors power and beome Phoenix...
I know that Vulcan was confirmed omega in Uncanny X-men #483 due to M-day but the key point is that he is confirmed, not possible, but confirmed. In What If universe, you can also see that Jean Grey (White Crown of Phoenix) is still number one macho there by defeating Vulcan where others fail. Acutally, she is omniverse, not effected by any version of reality.

Professor X was not Omega level yet he managed to block phoenix's mind for a while...In the comics Scarlet Witch, Mad Jim Jaspers,and Proteus were considered class 5....Vulcan, Nate Grey yep all considered class 5 as well

As for Omega mutant, I know Gabriel (Vulcan) is one and Nate Grey is considered as the most powerful mutant ever (Possible Omega Level). Thats the difference in opinion. Until the comic specifically identify a mutant as omega, it leaves everything to interpretation. Phoenix is being identify as resurrection force. Jean didn't have Phoenix in her body to begin with, it was an out space entity that helped Jean Grey put herself in a "psychic" coccoon, while Phoenix went to Earth and took Jean's form. Look it up in the X-Men wiki.

I luv Storm, but I really doubt if she would stand a chance with The Phoenix. With Jean only, yes, but with The Phoenix, no. I don't think any mutant stands a chance with The Phoenix. I read it from one of Xmen's comic books at Barnes. I forgot exactly which one it was. Storm's powers are awesome, but her compassion and her great fear of losing control of her powers tend to hold her back from giving her all, and that is why she always keeps herself and her emotions in check. There was an episode where she did lose control of herself, and it was pretty apocalyptic.

Also, what I mean by "possess" is to weild the full phoenix force, not just a shell for phoenix. You will find a lot of mutant is just a shell for Phoenix. Omega Kid (Green Phoenix), Franklin Richard, Rachel Summer, Gabriel Summer (What If), and Jean Grey actually weild the force through their own ability. Stepford Cukos could be one too.

Uncanny X-Men #147 showed that Storm is able to transform into a being with lightning for hair and breath of fire and ice. With phonix ability, Stranger can have everyone, including Living Tribunal at his feet (Yeah, that includes Eternity)... No, I based my facts on X-Men Forever series and Phoenix Endsong. Also noted that I'm talking about phoenix of white crown--the controller of past, present, and future. Both Eternity and Death confirmed that Jean Grey is not just a body for Phoenix, she is the Phoenix, hence the white crown of Phoenix. Oh, if anyone could be the host of Phoenix force is a confirmed Omega mutant. Like I said, until the comic confirm the Omega status, everything is just opinion.

Well when Omega is implied in the comics then yes the mutant is indeed. like i said, she is very powerful but only for short periods of time before they manage to knock her out..Jean Grey was not born with Phoenix it was given to her then she became it AND if you say that only an omega can host a Phoenix then Professor X, Emma Frost, Korvus, Stephord Cuckoos, Colossus and a few other who have hosted the Phoenix within them

Only an Omega Psinoic mutant can have access to Phoenix full force. Emma Frost burns when she was the host and the others only have brief contacts or a fragment of the force. Korvus had the blade to help wield the force. Read X-Men Forever #3 where Death tells Jean that she is the Phoenix.. Also in the Endsong when Jean force the Phoenix out of Emma, it was stated that Jean and the Phoenix force is One. No one could be the white crown of Phoenix except Jean.

jean Grey lost her telekinetic powers to psylocke when they traded powers. so jean had her own telepathy as well as psylocke's which made made her an omega but it was jeans secondary mutation or bond with the phoenix that gave jean her telekinesis back even stronger than before to equal her telepathy.

ummmm Pyslocke wasn't even around when she bonded with the cosmic energy of Phoenix. I am not sure sometimes in the Xmen series what everyone is reading but there are alternate universe with diff character creations. The Jean Grey is powerful but the Phoenix power that she had was comic energy and according to Claremont The Phoenix wasn't even Jean Grey but a clone! The real jean Grey was under the Ocean floor that was the only way they could absolve her sins for destroying planets and stuff!

yes, pyslocke wasn't around when she last bonded with the phoenix turning into the the white phoenix but he was around after jean found out all about the dark phoenix and decided to expel the phoenix spark. thats when jean continued in the x-men and the power switch occurred. all of this after the clone and the real jean under water and everything.

This isn't 100% right. Jean is a powerful telepath AND telekenetic. The Pheonix isn't called the pheonix until Xavier and her start their sessions. There is no "reguilar" jean becuase the phenoix is a part of her in the movie. She is always "regular jean" with just two personalities All of her power was only limited by the Professor. You're thiking more about the cartoons than the movie.

@thepet89 i totally agree. jean is an omega level mutant herself. omega mutants usually, but not always, exhibit supreme telepathic abilities like jean. with the phoenix, she became almost infinitely powerful. and, to be the host of the phoenix force, a mutant needs to be an omega. that's why the phoenix chose jean, instead of say, for example, storm. storm's powers are grand, but the powers of phoenix jean are stronger.

I know that Vulcan was confirmed omega in Uncanny X-men #483 due to M-day but the key point is that he is confirmed, not possible, but confirmed. In What If universe, you can also see that Jean Grey (White Crown of Phoenix) is still number one macho there by defeating Vulcan where others fail. Acutally, she is omniverse, not effected by any version of reality.

I think if Jean and Storm were to go at it, Jean will destroy Storm. That's just what her power does. Jean has reached a level other mutants haven't. But, if Storm were to reach level 5, Jean would have a real problem on her hands!

How?? Storm is not an omega level mutant. Omega level or level 5 is not a level where a mutant can be reached through practice or experience, its in their DNA. Bobby Drake is an Omega Level mutant or potential level 5.

I don't use the term class 5 because that is just a movie thing. As for Omega mutant, I know Gabriel (Vulcan) is one and Nate Grey is considered as the most powerful mutant ever (Possible Omega Level). Tell me which comic confirm Scarlet Witch, Mad Jim Jaspers and Proteus as Omega Level. I know Marvel never give out a definition for Omega but there is few that is confirmed in the comic. The one that I mentioned is mainly confirmed in 2001 X-Men Forever series.

Thats the difference in opinion. Until the comic specifically identify a mutant as omega, it leaves everything to interpretation. Phoenix is being identify as resurrection force. She is the beginning and the end. Until Storm can start create multiverse in sub-atomic level, she is not on the same level as Phoenix. You do remember Universe 616 right?

There was an unreleased comic book story arc where phoenix when inside storm instead of jean and she became storm phoenix. there was a huge battle and phoenix left her body..but storm died in the proccess :(

Jean didn't have Phoenix in her body to begin with, it was an out space entity that helped Jean Grey put herself in a "psychic" coccoon, while Phoenix went to Earth and took Jean's form. Look it up in the X-Men wiki.

Well there is a comic (from way back during the beginning days) where Storm loses control much like Pheonix and almost destroys the world and the X-Men. It was when Dr Doom captured her and controlled her, and she had a phobia attack and went crazy, completely becoming elemental, and part of the sky itself. It was CRAZY!!! Lover HER!!!

It is believed that do to the nature of Storm's powers that there is always static electricity going through her brain, which makes it harder to reach her telepathically. Even Professor X has trouble contacting her. If she is using her powers it is even more difficult, sometimes even causing pain. She once withstood the combined efforts of Professor X, Pyslocke, and Oracle, all powerful telepaths.

I luv Storm, but I really doubt if she would stand a chance with The Phoenix. With Jean only, yes, but with The Phoenix, no. I don't think any mutant stands a chance with The Phoenix. As a team, maybe, but still a tough one. The Phoenix is PURE POWER beyond any high level mutants like Xavier, Magneto or Storm.

I read it from one of Xmen's comic books at Barnes. I forgot exactly which one it was. Storm's powers are awesome, but her compassion and her great fear of losing control of her powers tend to hold her back from giving her all, and that is why she always keeps herself and her emotions in check. There was an episode where she did lose control of herself, and it was pretty apocalyptic.

What!!!! she probly is a omega level mutant because jean has to do the same thing. If Jean over extends her power she loses control and turn into the phoenix. Its the same thing with Storm, but I guess she can't stop herself and goes into a panic like she did on the episode Savage Land

hahahahaha Dark Phoenix is a cosmic being the only person that can stop her is Jean! Pheonix can turn anything into well anything she wanted do you not understand the reason of her being! she is the strongest no ifs, buts, maybes about it

Yeah I read that she can also make cosmic storms on other planets as well as move them to earth and convert them into the earth atmosphere which would be more harmful storms to earth.
