Crochet Baby Bootie

I am new at this, but what it looks to me that sometimes you arn't pulling through the last loop when counting. Isn't double crochet when you start with your loop on the hook, loop the yarn around, hook through the knot/chair, loop yarn, pull through the 1st loop, yarn over again, pull through 2 loops, yarn over (here is where is look like you go through the next knot, pull over and pull through the last loop as a count of 2 stiches) and pull through last loop.

so once I got to the part you have 27 stitches with 23 left... I only had 17 left, when you dc are you skipping a stitch or looping2 and pulling through? got seriouiously lost here, my count has been perfect till I did this part.

hey Teresa, i have a quick question.

i wanna make a 1-12 month old bootie and i have not a clue on which crochet hook to use.

my first time i just croched my first lil bootie, it was 10 minites ago, and i used a I, it came out to fit maybe a 2 year old or close to it, lol. the lower ones i have is F and H, i dont have a G right now, can i use either the F are H? if so, which one can i use?

I'm having trouble with mine. It's coming out perfect but just not small enough. I changed the size of hooks twice and it's still not coming out small enough. I'm making these for my friend who's due nxt month. Idk what I'm doing wrong ><

@SummerBellify Try working one less increase round or less increase stitches. That will make it smaller as well.

@LeiD4u You could modify the pattern if they were not small enough. They work up pretty fast so you could work up a pair.

Hi Teresa,i am so grateful for your tutorial..that makes crocheting so simple to me who is called "clumsy" girl :) i am learning to crochet baby bootie for my little angel but I am using 2-ply yarn.i found out that it is too small if I follow your count of rounds.Can you pls teach me how many rounds should be if I use such tiny yarn..Thanks a lot and wish you a lucky year ahead (I m in Vietnam, there are not various choices for yarn hihi

@nn2luv You will need to modify by working more increase rounds to make a larger bootie. There will be some trial and error in getting the right size. This is working more of the 2 stitches in the same stitch so it will expand in size.

@lovercrochet The numbers and letters on the crochet hook are related to size. If you use a smaller hook, the outcome of you project will be smaller. Same with the yarn, 4 ply yarn is smaller than 3 ply yarn.
