I've never watched Dexter but I'm really curious about what exactly it was that made these boys so twisted. Were their parents murdered or something? I'm reading the first book right now. Maybe it's explained in that one? Awesome video by the way. Very creepy...

They were forced to watch their mother and two other drug dealers not just murdered but massacred with a chainsaw and then were locked inside a storage crate sitting in a river of blood and body parts for a few days before someone found them. It's really sad and very disturbing, much moreso in the book though. In the show, at least Dexter has emotions and you feel for him. I like them both but I do much prefer the show.

@265ZENMASTER Yes, it's briefly explained in the show and explained in detail in the books. Their mother was involved in drugs and working as an informant. She and two others on the drug dealers' "naughty people list" were taken to the shipping yard and murdered in front of the kids. The boys were left alone in the dark, in a river of blood and body parts, for days before they were found. Not hard to imagine how they ended up so disturbed!
