Slowing a song down doesn't make it have more emotion. The singing in this is not genuine, and the singer does not know what he is singing about. This is the issue with covers of this nature. How can you sing lyrics you did not write yourself, convincingly? You can't.

But come on! he sung it better than the front singer of the Smiths...more vibrato and the articulation was so much better...he's the better singer and that makes it automatically the better version. Y'know, I prefer the Smiths version... but this isn't sacrilege, it's a tribute.
