The Maritime accent is different then the rest of Canada too. We tend to put a lot of 'e's where they don't belong. It's a Maritime thing. We also say 'eh' a lot more then then the rest of Canada I found. Most stereotypes are from this region of Canada. Also....brown bread is a very maritime thing. Not whole wheat or whole grain bread, but bread made with molasses. Crazy eh?

It's called the northeastern vowel shift. This is why people in Niagara Falls, Ontario sound a lot more like someone from California than than like someone from Niagara Falls, NY, even though it is just across the river.
