  • Pony was not Pink. FAIL

  • I'd like to think this is satire, but damn satire - you a coy bitch.

  • Love the voice over guy. So emotional.

However.. 8 year olds are not legally allowed to be on FB... was that really the right channel for this target audience?

  • all is a pink?

  • cupcakes!!!

  • ahhh, We are all fools

  • Is really unique the way to self promote with this ad! I watched this video at DMA at Boston and the first thing I thought was we all want to show how creative we are but we usually forgot the way to show it to our potential clients! Thanks for the reminder

  • Pony is not pink. OFF STRAT!

  • "We Create Birthday movements"...

    ... as in bowel movements?

  • Needs more Pinkie Pie.

...AND BALLOONS AND STREAMERS AND SUNDAES AND SARSAPARILLA.

  • Comment removed

  • Hysterical

  • Where's Pinkie Pie when you need her?

  • I like what you're going for here, but can we make the pony bigger and more 'dynamic'?

    Thanks.

  • The poney is not pink? WTF? No award for you. It is a scam.

  • @pablomarquesuk yeah, i was expecting a pink pony too :(

  • Hilarious !

  • I think i've heard that same stock music in other effies submissions...

  • I think i've heard that stock music in other effies submissions...

  • brillliant!

  • Brilliantly done.

  • Was anyone else hoping that this had something to do with Pinkie Pie?

  • I smell a Grand Effie

  • Need a pink pony for a party? Call Pinkie Pie. :3

  • Dave Droga must be having sleepless nights.

  • God, I HOPE this is just a very bad joke...

  • BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wahahaha love this!!

  • Brilliant. Been waiting for something like this! Hate when agencies make wank-fests.

  • Amazing. I love this!

  • Pure awesomeness!!!

  • That. Was. Amazing.

    I heart Marketing Sarcasm.

  • The best thing about this is that it provides a great structure / outline for doing these sort of case videos. Also being a parody, you don't lose attention or tend to scrutinize how well the campaign was executed. Great for students!

  • Oh I thought the pony was going to BE pink!

  • Brilliant!

  • This is fucking awesome.

  • No vuelvo a hacer un case study...

  • From this point on im never gonna be able to take a advertising case study seriously.

  • You made me laugh !!

  • Awesome! Did it get anywhere at Cannes?

  • Sweet!

  • Use #3,454,827 of Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” in an online video.

  • How will you maintain brand awareness through 2011? Chelsea's market presence can't possibly coast for a solid year on the strength of this one-and-done event.

  • @BambamJim I think the Pink Ponies big idea can outgrow the event and become an essential element in Chelsea's personal branding. As her preference for pink and for ponies really does go beyond her birthday, the big idea rests on an insight that's quite strategic—at least until she grows older and her preferences change (she might eventually like rose instead of pink and horses instead of ponies). She can implement varied executions of the big idea throughout the year: t-shirts, profile pics, etc

  • @joiedejoiedejoie Sounds like a plan. Let's throw some focus groups together and kick the tires on a few concepts. ;-)

  • @BambamJim This is a real problem for Chelsea – she hasn't said what she stands for, what her brand represents to her consumers. Without this consistent message people might be confused and switch to another brand of friend.

  • uhm, are these photographs of children? that's child porn, don'tcha know. everyone goes to prison.

  • Really super.

  • Very cute! Love the simple message of relevance (and the look on their faces when the pony shows up!).

  • jajajajajaj. Or in English LOL

  • we love you guys! so cool : ] my ex creative director hated these casefilms and their style so much he was very close to make a case film for non existing client to mock tha sh*t of them.

    but this is Awesome.

    congrats.

    and happy birthday chelsea.

  • Agree with phantpwr. The positive engagement with the audience at the party, generated by a pink pony, would have been far out-weighed by global outcry of anti-pink-pony activists, who would have turned a child's party into a political statement.

  • Pink Pony. Absolutely.

Getting a birthday Tweet or Facebook video post from Pink would've been pretty cool too - and significantly increased reach.

Of course it isn't always a good idea to promote a kids party on social media...

    Search: "Corey Delaney Party"

  • No way. A pink pony would be cruel

  • Yeah, 's pretty lame in non-pink!!11

  • Chelsea needed an ad agency to invite people to her party?

  • @markchla you didn´t get it... they´re mocking the way agencies try to make the stupidest thing sound amazing when they make their video cases.. this is obviously not real.

  • @stepeart On the contrary, it is not mocking anything. Mocking requires cynicism and there is not a note of cynicism in this entire vid. Rather, it is showing how marketing goals and methodology can apply to almost anything, even an innocuous birthday party. Whether this execution is successful in conveying that is up for debate. But as mockery it fails miserably for that reason.

  • @webslinger48 It is 100% mocking the ad industry. I know this. I work for McCann Erickson, and we laugh at it.

  • brilliant

  • Das kann sich im Portfolio doch sehen lassen :)

  • spoiled kids make selfish self absorbed adults

  • slow work week?

  • I hate case study music.

  • @202gonzo u know what? I hate case study music too.

  • WTF !!! LITTLE KIDS SHOULDN'T HAVE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think chelsea is rocking girl and she is totally cool and awsome

  • A pink pony would have shown that the creatives listened to the research, which showed that a brown pony was not what this consumer was looking for.

  • Fuck yeah!

  • Awsome video- more please.

  • Groan...there are a lot of clueless people in this thread. I work for an advertising agency and just to be clear, this is an industry in-joke: it's a superbly executed satire of the state of advertising award case studies. Just brilliant.

  • @outtacrompton I work in advertising, too, does that mean I know everything? Watch Truth in Advertising if you want to see advertising-industry mockery done flawlessly.

  • @outtacrompton Working at Saatchi doesn't count.

  • @outtacrompton regardless it's a cool, cute fun video

  • I am trying to create a movement for child survival - globally. I might need some help from John St...

  • me too, they should have painted it.. but than animal rights.. u know..;/

  • 9avedon,

    it's called sarcasm you dummy

  • very twee , ho hum ,whup tee do focus group navel gazing. D- for originality.Suitable viewing for ad agency YES men. Home movies Are Boring. Hollywood is coming off its worst year in a decade . So here is another example of kid culture....... yawn ..... self evident.......cute boring people.

  • hilarious.

  • ugh! ditto! :(

  • Or how to sell anything to anyone. Brilliant as a sarcasms of "new media"

  • I have a horse

  • "we created a movement" yes a steaming 5 lbs pile of movement. No wonder they are so many brats with an oversized sense of entitlement!

  • Wait...no pink pony? What a rip.

  • What they didn't show was the pony going all rabid and eating half the kids.

  • More than the lack of a pink pony, I was disappointed by Happiness: Priceless" style MasterCard reference after all of the numbers. But really adorable video!

  • And all it needed was a big pink bow around it's neck...

  • I like the family dog...Airedale

  • I really REALLY hope this is a parody. In this case ok, very funny. :)

Otherwise this is extremely dumb. =.=

  • great work

  • This video was worse than the casualties at Hiroshima.

  • @FatalFetalEating go troll on another video? do you know anything about marketing?

  • @danielmarcisraelite

Probably not- but my B.A. in Business Administration and Marketing, claims that I do.

P.S. How much blood should I massage myself with as a lubricant? Your BDSM orgy this Saturday is going to be the first one I've attended that hasn't been in my basement... or with corpses.

  • @FatalFetalEating hehe you and the majority of people who attended colleage

as for your BDSM enjoy... although i think you gonna struggle to post that on youtube maybe youporn?

  • 2:01 Breakfast Television, must be Canadian

  • Kate Beaton would be proud to see that little pony there.

  • So errr what parody is this?

sorry if I've been living under a rock these past few years but i don't have a tv lol >.<

  • Wow, if that company does parties I should have had them help with with my 18th. I didnt do anything for it. XD

  • haha what a cool agency :)

  • I hope you don't mind me asking.....what program did you use to edit the video?

  • awww this was so cute :3 i woulda loved it if i was 8

  • she's gona be so disapointed with her next bday party.

  • 1:03 WELSH TERRIER

  • @arpgi2 why? cos americans give ponies to little kids?

  • Never head of john st. but good job!

  • figures they just want to sell you something, good vid nonetheless

  • meanwhile in africa 20.000 kids starved.

  • @ICLAIMTHISNAME I know right?.....

  • hilarious parody!

  • Gross! ...$ per gift ... Number of gifts. Come on.

  • I'm happy for the girl and the fact that she had probably the best birthday of her life but I WANTED TO SEE A PINK PONY!!!

wait...my birthday is coming up. hmmm.....

  • This promotion was so different and witty. Makes me anticipate entering the Advertising/PR field.

  • @missorangepark Don't.

  • hahahaha, you should actually create birthday parties though

  • Bet everyone in advertising, marketing, social, customer service, B2B, sales, event planning and B2C could have these types of projects all the time.....or can they?

  • Good work, nice tempo and build. And funny!

  • A cara da @barangurte

  • @SamECircle I got it completely, just thought it was slightly retarded. That's all.

  • Is this a parody or did you actually do all the things you mentioned to make the ultimate birthday party for an 8 year old?

  • Just wonderful. Made me LOL thrice.

  • The pony should have been pink. I was definitely expecting a pink pony.

  • Umm... Okay?

  • @rynbadass What does that mean? Did you not understand the video? It's a satire of self-congradulatory advertising campaign videos.

  • I wish the pony was pink

  • a step further would mean that the pony would've been dyed

    pink!

  • ugh. advertising must die.

  • Hilarious. But, the pony on the cake was blue.

  • How do you do this at all without a PINK PONY? That is not a consistent design system, people! Banksy had a pink ELEPHANT for crying out loud. And you had a MINI pony!!

  • You may create birthday movements, but you also create Pony deceptions!

  • Awesome! great case study!

  • I'm short-listing John St. for two birthday parties in 2011!

  • makes me fell all fuzzy inside :D

  • made me whinny with laughter. Well done guys.

Who's the eejit who disliked it?

  • Totally disappointed by the BROWN pony. This is a deceptive promess.

  • excellent.

  • moar!!!

  • thought this "case study" was silly, but awesome; I'm sure the marketing peeps can appreciate. Ad agency taking on a kid's birthday? Ha!

  • jesus, i hate my job.

  • Yes and then the next day its all forgotten about and normal, mundane, banal, boring life moves on. Giving the girl everything she could have ever wanted is a bit redundant towards her self drive in later life isn't it?

  • @dermotbuckley Oh cheer up, cranky pants.

  • Ok, was anyone else disappointed the pony at the end wasn't pink?

  • @Spintown7 LOL! I was. :-)

  • @Spintown7

yeah, but if you had dyed a pony pink PETA would have had a fit.

  • @Spintown7 soo disappointed it wasn't pink!!! yeah, come on - a few cans of spraypaint would have done the trick!

  • yheaaaaa!

  • @Spintown7 could have at least used some spray paint :)

  • awesome, awesome, awesome on many levels

  • Great movie, but I was kinda expecting a pink pony at the end :D

  • Well played Sirs and Madams.

  • Good Job!

  • Why did you take the original video down?

  • brilliant. love it.

  • Fantastic!

  • almost made me cry ! What a creative case study :)!

  • #orangeshirtguyUF Go Gators !

  • oh dear, it all sounds way too familiar. I think I may have written one or two award applications that sounded exactly like that. excellent job!

  • Amazing Great job! I am an advertising major at the university of Florida and I absolutely love this!

  • Brilliant
